I am asking this question (Related to Saban's masked rider) only out of curiosity, Now i read somewhere that Shotaro Ishinomori (Original creator of KR) Said to never let any company related to Saban touch Kamen Rider again because of that bad RX adaptation, Now i am interested to know exactly what went on behind the scenes with Shotaro because of this incident, Because if he were to say something like that, he must have found it really bad.

Note: I am not forcing anyone to reveal sources or anything, I am just interested to know what went on.

Hmmm did you watched KR Beast King? MR deviates too much from the spirits of KR especially RX so I guess this may be part of the reason if not all.

I've never seen RX before but I've heard great things about it.

Kamen Rider RX is a damn good season, but we took it and basically butchered and raped the original owners with the mockery of Kamen Rider that we did with the Masked Rider. I'm glad that Dragon Knight is better, and the story line is similar to Ryuki.

I would assume people justed hated MR and the people in Japan felt we couldn't adapt their franchise sucessfully

I am guessing this is just what happened when you try to Americanize or make things too politically correct for audience that is supposedly unaware to complex imagery and themes like heroism, violence, camaraderie, love, vengeance, etc, which is bs just watch your local news station, that more than makes up for things children should not be exposed to or watching....

Saban was, in essence, trying to reinvent copyrighted material, like what they did with Power Rangers from its sentai roots, only in this case they just sliced and diced the story into pieces...much like how Disney is doing with Power Rangers today...it's like calling something that walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and behaves like a duck, a dog...they should be sued for a great deal of things...in other genre's, music for example, when others 'sample' another musician's copyrighted material and get caught doing it they get busted...

Saban's shows and programming used to be shown on FOX...well at least where I live...maybe Rupert Murdoch...had some input and idea's...

Personally, I was never too sure the actual reason Saban went bankrupt and folded...the real reason that is...

After all, having a building that big when you drive by it on the I-5 (maybe it was the 405...can't quite remember...that was a decade ago...LA is constantly changing, well as much as most cities are anyway...)

Bankrupt? Folded? BS. They were bought out lock stock and barrel by Disney, along with the Fox Kids and Fox Family channels. Never went bust. :p

Where did you hear that Disney bought them...because that is a pretty bad business decision...even Disney is not that stupid when it comes to business (albeit, they have made a ton of bad business decisions *cough cough, Michael Eisner, cough cough*)...debt financing is a tricky deal...especially if Saban declared bankruptcy...(ch. 11 or ch. 14). I may agree that they bought the rights to some of the shows but they did not buy out Saban, otherwise Saban would still be here. Something just is missing from that process, especially when buyouts and mergers are involved...but what do I know its not like I did not graduate with a business degree...and shoot, its not like we never discussed the Disney company, here in California, and their past business decisions in case studies...hmm, well, when I am wrong, I am wrong...I concede..

I didn't really like Masked Rider, so I thought I wouldn't like any Kamen Rider series (was waaaaay off, by the way). But, I don't think the idea of Saban not doing a good job adapting it is grounds to take the rights away from them. It's an "adaptation" and they're not meant to be an exact replica of the source material. Shotaro Ishinomori had every right to pull the rights, if he could legally do so, but taking the rights away from bad storylines is not right. If that was the case, Disney should have lost sentai rights after Mystic Force.

Masked Rider should have just stayed a 3 part ep in MMPR

Saban ruined Masked Rider by the way it was done. They should have left the Kamen rider episodes as is and just voice dubbed them. Instead of trying to americanize them.

The worst one would be "The invasion of leawood" God, were they that cheap? Almost all the shots were RX footage, plus you could tell when Dex woke up it wasn't him.
