Lost Galaxy is the first season after the Zordon Era and the first season to start the "fresh cast and story" each season concept. The season did get the Astro Megaship and Alpha from Power Rangers in Space.

This was definitely one of my favorite seasons due to its great mixture of an amazing cast, great story, and excellent usage of Sentai footage.

What was your initial reaction when you saw the first episode?

i thought it was a great season for being after the zordon era. it had a good cast and story line. enjoyed alpha being in it. like the sword in the stone concept

Reusing the Megaship and Alpha were good moves. The cast was a bit dull to me at first. Kendrix, Maya, and Kai all grew on me the most. Using a new cast is what made Lost Galaxy a refreshing change for me.

One of my favorite concepts of this season was the legend of the Quasar Sabers. The scene when the Mike and the others pulled out the sabers...now that was an epic start. The first two episodes had a decent amount of story to really get the season in gear.

What was your initial reaction when you saw the first episode?

I was amazed by the special effects. They seemed more real than Space. Probably due to the major difference with its Super Sentai counterpart.

The new cast seemed to grow on me pretty quickly. After all, my short attention span back when I was younger didn't notice that. All I noticed were the suits. But, it still looks very presentable to me now.

Seeing a smart Pink, an Asian Blue, and Swords was very overwhelming... it still remains one of my favorite casts.... i know people will prob hate on me for this... but I was excited when Mike let go of the sword and "fell to his death" as his acting really annoyed me

I was sad already about Lost Galaxy! I cant believed mike fell off the cliff!That made me irritated for a second.But once Leo had the Lost Galaxy Sword I was happy again.

Lost Galaxy was one of the best season ever, if not the best one. It was so great that it aired here in Slovenia a couple of times. Even my schoolmates were crazy about this season!

I liked the scene when Mike fell "into his death". I knew he was going to come back somehow. I mean it was so obvious, because we didn't have a Ranger death until Time Force.

I also liked when Kendrix sacrificed herself of save Cassie's life. But I knew she was going to come back somehow as well.

The new cast really grew up on me fast, expecially Leo, Mike, Kendrix and Maya.

And yes, Maya and Kendrix were hot too. I bet they still are!¨:D

Anyway, the season was really liked by many fans. Especially how it began... in an Astro Megaship museum! :D

As for the season, I have a lot of good memories with LG. I remember being on a youth basketball team when I was younger and having to tape episodes of LG because the episodes aired at the same time as my games. I was so excited to get the game over with so I could go home and watch lost galaxy. I remember being totally sidetracked during my games because of this season.

What was your initial reaction when you saw the first episode?Man....I don't remember LOL! I was only 9 at the time. Uh...I guess I was thinking about how interesting it was to have a totally fresh start as you mentioned. I remember the scene where the Astro Megaship was a museum and thinking that that was interesting and I wondered where the Space rangers were and how long the gap between "CtD" and the LG premiere was. Also the idea of the space coloney was very cool and interesting.

LG was one of my favorite seasons. I really got into the story and the characters. The first season we had a character die. Also the first season we had the characters wear the same clothes all the time like they were cartoon characters LOL!

PRLG as a awesome series the plot as cool, and as the start with every year as begins with new cast for new team of POWER RANGERS, i liked a lot of the villans, the rangers, team up the the Psycos and the team as awesome.

The rangers are really cool the start with the rangers go and take the Quasar sabers and the new Zords are awesome, and we never see too much persons died in some series of PR, well Maya and Kendrix are hot, but when Maya and Karone are in the team of LG they are even hotter, Maya and Karone together wow is really amazing, i loved the Lost Galaxy arc is much amazing is really bad they dont start that arc more soon because they start that arc a little late for them enter in the final episodes of LG

The villans as pretty amazing i liked a lot of the Scorpios relation with is doctor and is generals in xpecial Deviot as really manipulated all even Trakeena, in general LG prove to be a awesome fresh start for the new teams of rangers come next

yh, we see Karone redempecion in PRLG when she faces is evil side in the episode Leo have receive the battlyzer, Leo have many fear in the start ot be the red ranger and we see Leo almost give up to be Red ranger because Mike as the one who take the red saber of the stone, yh Trakenna as awesome and we see her in the start she dont have fight but them Villamax teacher and she became really evil, but Trakenna dont have honor like Villamax has something Trakeena dont understand, the relation between Trakenna e Scorpios as really cool, Scorpios as evil but cares about is doctor and Scorpios always try to protect Trakenna of the outside world, i liked of the Scorpios generals in xpecial Techeron and Deviot, Furiu as cool in xpecial is the Leo rival because Furio kills Mike just for a little period of the LG, i liked to the Zords are cool but we just see the Galaxy Megazord in the episode 5, and the lights of Orion as pretty amazing this as the first time we see upgrades of powers like Orion Lights and the powers to Orion Galaxy Megazord, the story of Galaxy Book as cool...

They had to make their own equipment and figure stuff out on their own. Actual lives were on the line. They paid attention to the fact that stuff happened on planets the rangers weren't on. If it weren't for the silly costumes and fighting styles, this series would have been where PR peaked for me. God i hated those costumes

God, the first part of this season is so bad. So, so bad. Poorly adapted Gingaman nonsense IN SPACE! But somehow it all really starts to gel by the time the first third is finished. I truly hated this season when it premiered and by the end I really came to love it. Like Deep Space Nine, you really have to stick with the crappy start to get to the meaty, excellent center that builds on everything you just endured.

They shot all of her stuff at once. Her cameo in the finale was pre-filmed when she did "The Chameliac Warrior", "To the Tenth Power", "The Power of Pink", and "Protect the Quasar Saber".

So just to be sure I understand how things worked, she was still filming episodes even when she was sick?

I just remember how before Kendrix was killed off, there were episodes KENDRIX was in (even if in just ranger form, or with the stand-in), even though VALERIE was not. Those being "An Evil Game", "Green Courage", "Blue to the Test", "Mean Wheels Mantis", "Loyax' Last Battle", and "A Red Romance". Then after that, were here last three as a regular.

Come to think of it, there were plenty of episodes where other ranger actors didn't appear physically, but only did voice-overs. I wonder what was up with that.

PRLG was the first and only season of the series to have every Ranger actor miss at least one episode physically. Was it a budget saver, or a perk of the show's new union rules? Beats me.

Well, I've never actually seen Lost Galaxy, which you can chalk up to pure laziness on my part, but seeing as I had nothing better to do in the wee hours of the morning (when I should be fast asleep) I decided to FINALLY start watching the series on Youtube.

And I have to say, DAMN. The acting is pretty damn dodgy at times, but it's still got that same charm and.. I don't know... love? It's still got the same kind of creativity and love for the show that seemed to be missing in the Disney Era. Saban PR captured an inexplainable energy that Disney PR never quite managed to capture, despite arguably better effects.

To sum it up, Disney may have had the Rangers, but it was Saban/MMPR Productions that truly had the Power.

well i think the answer of that is because the rangers reveal there indenties in the final battle and other reason for shore as maybe when the rangers return to earth when the deliver the Astro Megaship to be museum for the citizens of the Angel Grove

What's weird is that this is one of the few details that DID get changed from the original script (Angel Grove) to the final aired version (onboard the colony).

In the script, Kai took the final transport ship back to Earth to get to the museum, basically taking a space craft to go get ANOTHER space craft. In the finished version, it's on Terra Venture as a sort of "welcome to outer space, here's some history of space travel" thing (with implications that should the need arise when the colony is attacked, the Power Vault could be opened and new Space Rangers chosen to protect the place).

I liked Lost Galaxy, was an interesting series, the 1st one post Zordon era but clearly still his influences around with Alpha and the Megaship appearing as well as the Space Rangers and Karone. I liked the idea that the Rangers weren't just randomly chosen people, but in fact were destined to pull the sabres from the rock, though in Mike's case it was to pass the sabre onto the rightful Red Ranger. I liked the introduction of Karone as the 2nd Pink Ranger, felt that they could have made her story arc a bit longer as she dealt with parts of her past in 1 episode and seemingly got over it there and then after ages of trying, otherwise overall a good season

Lost Galaxy was an awesome season, althought, it doesn't really pick up until the Lights Of Orion story arch... and once Redeption Day hits, that's when things get heated up. Loved the cast that season too. It was hard getting used to at first back when it first aired, and obviously it was because of the change in direction. This is my first Staff Pick of the Month. I'll post my second one later this month. :)


Review:
The first half of Power Rangers Lost Galaxy had a mini-arc where the Lights of Orion could be found in any household product of Terra Venture. In the previous episode (Orion Rising), we see the Lights of Orion for the brief moment as it leaves Terra Venture. The Lights return in this episode and its a frantic race to obtain its power. Trakeena has a great plan to make Scorpius believe that Tracheron wants the lights to himself. The Lights of Orion is briefly used for evil and it is indeed an awesome powerup to face against. Magna Defender is so close to the Lights, but the Rangers beat him to it. The Lights choose the Rangers and grant them the power.

The last scene makes the entire chase for the Lights and this episode worth it. After using the Lights, the Rangers de-morph and we see this beautiful scene of the Lights entering their morphers.

Gingaman was the first Sentai experience that I had. One of my favorite scenes was when they got and used the Lights of Orion for the first time. I was very excited to see how the American version would pull it off. I must say that even after a decade, that scene is still one of my favorites in the PR era. The scene was beautifully done and the music composition hit the mark.

I wasn't a fan of the Magna Defender arc, but did enjoy his end in the "Redemption" episode (great usage of sentai footage). I just thought it was so random that Mike happened to fall in the same hole as the Magna Defender. But I guess that is as random as the Lights of Orion being on Terra Venture, a space colony made from the planet Earth. The dark plot around the Magna Defender was decent on how he wanted to get the Lights to avenge his son. That darkness made him have a single mission, which gave him a great combination of being a dark character with good intentions.

Magna Defender became a more interesting character when his spirit returns to grant the powers to Mike.

well i think will be cool to put in LG some ancient rangers in the plot just for some episodes, and possible that Ancient rangers as been battle with the Lost Galactabeasts in that war of Deviot describe in The Lost Galactabeasts arc, i think some plot like that will work, well put the Phantom well i think will be some connection between the Zordon sagas of PR, because in LG we have much connections with Zordons sagas, the megaship,Alpha,Bulk and Skull and professor phenomenous, and another thing inside of the Megaship the Space rangers left the Morphers and if some reason the Galaxy rangers find the space morphers even DECA know about that and dont tell the rangers

yes! i loved how they added karone! That was an amazing situation that left the team with a temporary of 4. An ex evil villian turning into a pr! holy crap spectacular! I love how Kendrix temporary sacrificed herself for cassie! would have been cool to see cassie come back as lg pink but i liked seeing karone.

If you notice during the "Armor summoning" sequence, Red is wearing his Lights of Orion add-ons. It likely had something to do with that.

i loved Trakeena in this season...how she went from being useless to taking over..to fusing with deviot and becoming scary and badass...to powerful green mutant trakeena....def one of the best villains in the show history. Although I always hated that she destroyed Villamax in the finale..The guy who trained her and made her what she was.

PRLG as a pretty amazing season, i liked like you the Trakeena develoment as cool, the fusion with Deviot make a Trakeena more evil and twisted then before, well Trakeena destroy Villamax because even as Villamax as help Trakeena to became more powerfull but i think Trakeena dont have honor like Villamax have, even we see Villamax dont want attack inocents in the Trakeena fina strike because they dont have foult about of Leo destroy Scorpios and Villamax never as agreed with that

Looks like he sacrificed agility for power, unlike Andros. Came into great play in the finale though, being fired at point blank range to destroy Trakeena - or so they thought anyway. Of course, the Battlizer was destroyed too, but better that than the sentient Galactabeasts.

I love how, especially with the impending Valerie interview, NOBODY is mentioning "Double Duty" as a favorite. Personally, it's up there on my ALL-TIME favorite episodes list.

I also enjoyed "The Blue Crush," which had the second repurpose of Dimitria's dress for Hannah's skating outfit. It was also the only time we saw a REAL car on board the Terra Venture (Johnny's black car, just to fit the Sentai footage of that tower falling onto it), while everyone else drove the Gem cars/golf carts around.

A few questions about it though: 1 - why was the captain of terra venture never in the opening credits i mean he appeared in nearly, if not all, of the episodes, more so than bulk did anyway and even he got in the credits. 2 - The thing that got me most about the space adventures of the power rangers was that when they were unmorphed in space they were still alive and walking normally on the ground. If you were to go in space without any oxygen you would instantly suffocate and die plus there is now zero gravity in space so would you mind telling me how in the hell the rangers were able to survive in space and ignore the laws of gravity

Journey's End was an epic ending. Definitely a great 3-parter to end the season. It can't compare to the previous season's Countdown to Destruction but it still has its own moments, especially with the destruction of the Megazords, Terra Venture, and the Astro Megaship.

The final scene is truly the icing on the cake and the perfect touch to close the storyline.

Journey's End was an epic ending. Definitely a great 3-parter to end the season.

was really epic, we see the full attacj of the Stinger winger to Terra venture and be destroyed by Trakennam the change of trakeena as awesome her personality change when merge with Deviot she became more evil and ruthless them before, and we see use all to destry the rangers even sacrifice is all army, the battle between Villamax and Deviot as pretty i think Trakenna find out about Deviot is a traitor because of Kegler maybe tell her, and even when Trakena destroyes the Palace of Mutiny Deviot survive really cool, well the way of the megazords are destroyed as pretty easy the stinger winger are much more that them, Villamax help a child for save her of the danger, villamax dont agreed with Trakeena decision of destroy all space ship because Leo as the one who destroy Scorpios that as pretty cool but i think Villamax should be strungle agasnt Trakeena because he teach her all she know about fight and destroy, the rangers make the Megaship blow up to escape of Scorpios Stinger really awesome that scene, The Megaship make a awesome explosion and separate the rangers from Leo.
We see Trakeena very injured because of the blow up of the Megahip and decides to go to coccoon that as cool i think for shore that as part of Deviot personality to act to survive and destroy the ranger for shore, i really like the ideia of the two big rivals stayed in the mooon of planet Le oand Trakeena because everthing will be decide for them in the start of the final battle, well the new power of Trakeena as pretty cool eve nshe as the power to make Terra venture with energy and make a weapon to destroy the citizens of the Terra venture in the planet.

The battle between The rangers and Trakeena as awesome but i think should be even more awesome because them dont use much weapon aganst her we dont even see then use the Lights of Orion aganst her, but for shore Trakeena beat the rangers very easy because no one as change aganst her with sow much power now, the final scene when Leo decite to blow up himself with battlyzer with Trakenna to as awesome and we see to Trakeena face in the smoke but for shore she as gone or better runaway to return again, well when everthing is lost for even the rangers dont can stop the Terra venture to blow up the citizens of terra venture the Galaxy Megazord show up that cool but i ask just for my self where the Galacta beasts been all time when Centaurus and Strataforce whe nthey fight aganst the Stinge wingers, but the rangers are save and we find out the planet is when everthing starts in the begins Mirinoi, we see the rangers put the sabers in the stone and the power of the sabers restore life in Mirinoi, Kendrix returns that as cool but possible is spirit as connected with the saber for shore

PRLG as a cool plot and see much thing of Zordon era, this seasons have sow many deaths such in the good guys as the evil guys
