That would explain how Bulk and Alpha 6 managed to get back to Earth for Forever Red and Once a Ranger.

I tend to err on the side of "the wormhole goes to wherever Mirinoi is." Mirinoi is, for whatever reason, situated on a dimensional aperture which slides in and out of various adjoining dimensions. Mirinoi is itself a portal to the Mystic Realm, in other words. Earth has sizable dimensional instabilities of its own, and the Grand Cross alignment was already coming into focus by 1999. I have no problems accepting that the portals to Mirinoi were a symptom of that. If NASASA or the GSA are now actively keeping the wormhole in orbit open for trade purposes (and it's still active as of 2003, given Lothor's comment to Marah and Kapri), we have our explanation.

And still active in 2007, considering when Alpha turned up back on Earth.

You presume Alpha 6 was crated up recently because...? He had significant damage by late 1999. He'd survived ACTIVE REENTRY and had vines jammed in his circuits.

Watching the first 10 eps of LR and got some interesting points to talk about:
-I believe this was the first season we saw a gun in the PRU and human on human violence in the PRU (Bulk and Skull bullying the rangers doesn't count LOL!) I was shocked to see the Asian bank robber push the old lady down on the bus and I was also surprised to see Dana and him fight. I wondered why she didn't morph to stop the bus from tipping over but, whatever.

-I really like Joel. I can see why Keith Robinson has been one of the more successful PR actors, he can act! He's very charismatic and very funny.

-Captain Mitchell knows best. On two occasions he's been misunderstood by two rangers (Carter and Dana respectively) where they tought he was wrong in his orders but they later found out that he was absolutely right in his orders and had so much faith in the both of them. I really liked that.

-The woman who played Vypra was a TERRIBLE actress. Oh my gosh was she bad! So bad it's funny and sad at the same time LOL! Hopefully she's improved if she's still acting.

-Impus saying "MAMA!" everytime Queen Banshera is mentioned is very annoying.

-At the end of "Go Valcanic" (was that a play on the previous season's morph call, "Go Galatic"?), despite having a change of heart, criminal still was arrested. I LOVE that. He also got to say that he wasn't afraid of paying for what he did and that he'd live his life differently. And it all seemed logical because he had a near death experience. This was one of my favorite episodes of the season for sure.

Jennifer Yen's last role was Kate in Dark Assassin, in 2006. Apparently, it's a really bad film.

Lightspeed had some of the best morphed fight choreography for sure. I loved the Dana/Ryan fight scene. The fact that they let a "pink" fight like that was nice.

I believe I'm at episode 19 (the episode where the planets align) an I just LOVE how Ryan conveniently reveals to the rangers, Mitchell, and Fairweather that the demons are trying to resurrect Queen Bansheera the day that it's taking place. That's so funny to me.

Oh and the Super Train Megazord's zord formation is a thing of beauty and I like how they gave Ryan his own zord in the Max Solarzord despite their not being a 6th ranger in the Sentai.

The Max Solarzord was unpiloted in the Sentai - they got lucky, like they did with Falconzord.

Just finished "The Chosen Path" and what a dumb episode that was! The portrayal of Chad' mentor/sensei was terrible in how stubborn he was and downright rude and stupid. He was disappointed because Chad moved on with his life (and was protecting the city by using the skills taught to him by his former sensei) and then the dummy teaches a demon how to fight and trusts it. And of course he didn't see the error of his ways until after the demon kicks his butt. Terrible episode. Was great seeing Mike/Chad able to use his martial arts on a large scale this episode.

Well I'm almost done. I have about 3.5 more episodes to go before I end the season. Another interesting observation that I made was the relationship between Dana and Carter. I don't think that there was anything romantic going on but it seemed like she looked up to him and wanted his approval kinda like she felt about her father. In the episode where she becomes a model, during training she's all girly and ends up blowing the session off to go to a fashion show or something and ignores the other rangers telling her that she needs to stay but as soon as Carter just looks at her, she looks so upset and looks like she has a lot of remorse and then sadly says, "I gotta go.". I did notice that in both Sentai and American morphed footage, Pink is always the first one to run to Red when he's been beat up after a battle. Was their a relationship between Pink and Red in GoGoV?

Was their a relationship between Pink and Red in GoGoV?

Well, the entire GoGoV team was related, and Pink was the youngest while Red was the oldest.

Any final thoughts on Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue? This was an alright season. They had a solid to good cast of characters and the development of certain rangers and other characters were somewhat balanced compared to past and future seasons. We had some solid storytelling as well. But despite all of this, I can totally see why some people totally forget about this season when they talk about Power Rangers because there were some bland, wooden characters and the acting wasn't stellar by any means. Once again, the in-costume fight scenes were INSANE! Some of the best in the series IMO. I also liked the morph effect when a ranger would be in the middle of a fight or confrontation and yell, "Lightspeed Rescue!" and then the huge screen shaped like their helmet visor would pop up and they'd jump or roll into it. I thought that was some great special effects on the shows part.

This ranked up among my faves as far as seasons go. I loved the fact this also marked as the first to have a non-Sentai Ranger(Titanium Ranger) on the team. I liked how they didn't make the storyline based around the flirty actions of pink and red. Some seasons do which is annoying. This is one of the few seasons which is believable and entertaining to watch. The storyline was solid and so was the cast and characters.

LSR it as really cool season and the team-up it as cool but i think too Mike should be there will be even more cool and i really liked of Trakeena comes to earth to revenge of the Galaxy ranger and i liked when Trakeena transforms and New Monster of the Olympios because i really liked the plot Trakeena she as planning to betray Bansheera and Olympios and Olympios steps a head and it as sad to dont see Diabolico in the team-up will be even more cool.

During your initial viewing of the season, did you figure out that the Titanium suit did not belong beside the others?

YellowAccel
08-14-2011, 10:21 AM
^Personally no. Most of the time the 6th rangers's suit were a little different.

What did you think of the Lightspeed Aqua Base?

I like it. It's one of the most original base ever

What was your initial thoughts of the Lightspeed Rescue? Anyone remember the awesome trailers?

At first i though the season will be awesome. For the promo we don't have the same in France.

What did you think of the new villains?

I don't like them exept Queen Bancheera. I found the other boring and bland.

What did you think of the cast members?

I'm not a fan of that cast exept Carter & Chad.

What did you think of the Titanium Ranger arc?

As a kid i remember that the Titanium Ranger seems invincible to me lol. Too bad after that arc Ryan become useless.

What did you think of the zords and the megazords?

I Love the super train megazord but that's all.

How did you feel about 'Trakeena's Revenge'?

I Don't like it. The story wasn't really interisting, the galaxy ranger seems invisible, the only intersting part was the final megazord fight but it's senti footage.

What are your favorite LR episodes?

The final episode, and the episode where Dana become a top model.

What did you think of the Mega Battles?

They are cool but they are useless since they use it 4 or 5 times. I would love if they used it more often.

What did you think of the Finale?

It's a good final. The last battle was awesome.

Any final thoughts on Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue?

Definitly one of my least favoite season. I found the cast boring (exept Chad & Carter), the mega battle and the titanium ranger are useless, the villain are bland especially Vypra, and it don't really interest me until the last episodes. At least the final was good.

Really hoping this thread still falls under the qualifications of a revivable-thread.

What was your initial thoughts of the Lightspeed Rescue? Anyone remember the awesome trailers?
I remember being "really, really excited" about the premiere of Lightspeed Rescue, I can't remember a thing of the PR-blitz they ran for this show, but I do remember being stoked about waking up and watching the very first episode when it premiered.

What did you think of the Lightspeed Aqua Base?
The Aquabase is probably one of my least favorite command bases of the older PRU (and technically, there have only been three if you count Terra Venture as a Command Base). Even as a kid I never saw the practicality of having an base of operations underwater (seeing as it probably posed more of a threat than the villains of the season itself) and truth be told it reminded me far too much of the old Hannah-Barbera cartoon, Sealab 2020 (which was something I really detested seeing on Cartoon Network, next to the old Godzilla cartoon that featured Godzukey), which didn't help matters in winning me over. It also seemed poorly lit for a majority of the season as well, where did the lighting budget go for this place?

What did you think of the new villains?
They were, in short, the blandest set of villains since the Machine Empire in Zeo (which is funny, because I actually like their counterparts in GoGo-V). I think the only character I actually liked from that group was Diabolico and I always disliked him on the mere basis that he probably bothered me more than Vypra, who takes the cake in irksome secondary baddies. Her only redeeming qualities was the costume she was wearing. I remember wanting be her for Halloween so badly back when I was kid (nevermind the illegal ramifications of a twelve year old wearing something like that). Loki was just kind of there, I never paid much attention to him and Jinxer reminded me too much of a demonic Mickey Mouse because of his gloves. Queen Bansheera, for all her viciousness, never struck me as the big-bad I was waiting to see in action, she spent too much time behind the scenes and half-revived before she got to do anything. Long story short, I never thought much of them, I didn't even think they were that threatening.

What did you think of the cast members?
They were another hit-and-miss selection for the most part. Keith Robinson's Joel Rawlings is definitely still my favorite character out of the five Rangers, he quirky charm and cockiness was something I actually sound really appealing. Carter Grayson was on my "hit list" for a good long time as a kid because he reminded me too much of Riley Finn (I even started calling him the "Power Rangers version of Riley Finn" at some point). Nowadays, however, while I acknowledge the character is by no means horrible (Sean Cw Johnson's performance and unmorphed fight sequences are probably the reasons I reconsidered my stance on the character period), he's still far too "meh" for my liking, regardless of all his "badassery". Chad Lee felt like a de-progression of PRLG's Kai Chen in the sense that he was serious-minded and easy going, but had nothing else going for him other than the odd Mermaid romance and his boss hairstyle in Time Force's "Time For Lightspeed". He's just there in the background and never someone I gravitated to in least. The last three, Kelsey Winslow, Dana and Ryan Mitchell were characters I still aren't terribly keen on. Kelsey was far too chipper for my taste as a kid and as an adult, probably has one of the worst actresses next to Vypra's. Kelsey was always one I questioned as to why she got recruited, she felt so random compared to the others. Dana was a straight up and down bland Pink Ranger and Ryan was a repeat of a storyline I was largely over and bored with after PRIS and PRLG. I never got the sense that he was necessary, but that Saban felt the need to repeat the fairly popular formula of adding a Sixth Ranger to the team.

What did you think of the Titanium Ranger arc?
It's one of my least favorite PR arcs, period. Lightspeed Rescue was beginning to loose my interest at this point during the time it was airing on television and I can't help but remember how much snark threw at my television when I watched the entire thing unfold before my eyes. In retrospect, it's not terrible in the least, in fact, Ryan is undoubtedly the one thing that keeps LR from falling off the rails into nothingness, but you probably couldn't have told me that when I was a kid.

[B]What did you think of the zords and the megazords?
As I've no problem with vehicle-themed Zords, there were probably my favorites after Turbo's Turbo and Rescuezords and SPD's Delta Runners. The fact that they held a creepy similarity to the aformentioned first, made me think that they'd reused the Zords from Turbo and gave them a facelift. The Supertrain Megazord is definitely my favorite as it's on the a Zord that looks better suited as a "Boss" character you'd probably fight in a Transformers video game (if they were any decent), only it's on your side and armed to the teeth with weaponry.

How did you feel about 'Trakeena's Revenge'?
I hate that episode, a lot and the thing of it is, I didn't go into watching this episode hoping I would. I actually figured the talk about the BTS drama was kind of exaggerated and the talk of the girl (Heather) was actually over-exaggerated by the way of Justin hatred via Turbo. But it wasn't and quite frankly, the entire storyline, half-heatedly adapted from the GoGo-V vs. Gingaman, was a mess (particularly because they do give the little girl, who for all intents and purposes, was an extremely minor character that made for a small motivation for GoRed, a larger than necessary role in the plot's narrative drive). Trakeena felt like a character tacked on a series of events for no other reason than a glorified cameo appearance (and I can see why Amy turned it down) and the same could be said with almost all the Rangers that weren't Carter Grayson. (And as dumb as this is, how did Kelsey Recognize Leo? That just irks me!) I could never take Triskull seriously because of that goofy-cross eyed expression on his face coupled with the voice actor they chose for the character. Then there's the really bad ADR work for Leo which just kills the episode for me because its glaringly noticeable. The only decent thing about this was seeing Valerie Vernon in action again and learning that the Lights of Orion could interface with the Omega Megazord. I was just extremely disappointed by this team up, especially given that they did some great work with PRLG's crossover episodes.

What are your favorite LR episodes?
"A Matter of Trust", "Operation Lightspeed", "Truth Discovered", "The Fate of Lightspeed"

What did you think of the Mega Battles?
I honestly have no love for the Battlizer (or the Sub-Battlizers), whether their designated for Red, or all three colors that aren't female (or in this case Chad and Joel). I didn't like the Mega Battles at all. Really, I think the only non-Zord arsenal I loved was the Rescue Rover (how I wanted that Humvee as a kid).

What did you think of the MMPR using the Lightspeed Megazord in a sketch of Robot Chicken?
Seeing that Robot Chicken really isn't my kind of show or the kind of humor I subscribe to, I've never seen it before.

What did you think when Bansheera left Olympius in the Shadow World and started showing her true colors?
It kept things interesting among the villains, more or less because how things would end up for everyone who isn't Bansheera before the finale.

What did you think of the Finale?
It was enjoyable, particularly the quick-morphing sequences for Green, Yellow and Blue (those were really well done) and the batlings just tearing the crap out of the entire base like it was cake and they were ants. I liked the character interaction between the Miss Fairweather and the stranded Lightspeed Rangers in the ruined Aquabase and their determination to get out of the shattering structure, but otherwise, I was't terribly thrilled with how it ended (even if Queen Bansheera got hers at the end of it all). I also never liked the fact that Carter goes to save Ryan instead of Dana (that just bothers me to no end).

Any final thoughts on Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue?
Lightspeed Rescue is by no means a great season, in fact, it's probably the weakest since the original Mighty Morphin' seasons (and the one that killed my interest in PR for the next five or six years until 2006 and later with their revival by Netflix), but it is one you'll appreciate with a post-adolescent POV. Judd Lynn and co.'s writing was definitely beginning to falter and shows in the lag this season suffers from, both in its characters and the narrative focus. It gets decidedly worse in Time Force (the season I'm presently watching). There are too few redeeming things about it to rate it any higher above a 3 out of 5.

During your initial viewing of the season, did you figure out on your own that the Titanium suit did not belong beside the others?
For all intents and purposes, I really do think the Titanium Ranger's uniform (and presence) clashed with the others because it lacked a sense of "belonging" or "unity" that the others had. In other words, I never understood why they just didn't use the same Lifesaver motif for his uniform as opposed to some bland, washed out gray and old color scheme with a huge V theme repeated throughout his appearance. I really hated his shoulder pads, man.

What was your initial thoughts of the Lightspeed Rescue? Anyone remember the awesome trailers?
*sigh* my first thoughts were 'wow i actually fancy the Pink Ranger more than the Yellow Ranger, has time turned backwards?" I don't remember any trailers of any kind of awesome, maybe we got different trailers in the UK? Or i just saw ones before the adverts on whatever children's progamme block it was on - one of Saturday Morning blocks maybe?

What did you think of the Lightspeed Aqua Base?
I never even noticed I had an opinon until just now - that opinion being 'it fits' - because, because of the concept, it never struck me as anything out of the ordianry for such an organisation to have such a thing. Not really related: I really like water, all kinds of water, and unwater bases are thus awesome.

What did you think of the new villains?
I thought they were the only thing that really let the season down - Bansheera herself was ok (though I'm sure she was in Cutie Honey) but the evil force returnnig from another dimension thing was done better, IMO (god i hate that term), in Mystic Fate and then there was Vypra...Vypra, Vypra, Vypra - why cast someone who cannot act for something that, y'know, requires acting - it's like asking a plumber to fix your roof.

What did you think of the cast members?
Vypra aside i had very few issues - Linkara's right Carter is a badass and I did warm to most of the characters straight away - I prefer Dr. K to Dr. Fairweather and whatever the name of the general was (what WAS his name?) in RPM to Captain Mitchell as far as those type of characters go - but they were all likable, the actors playing them? Again no real complaints, Joel's actor was probably the best, Kai's actor seemed to have trouble with the voice overs, which quite a few Rangers' actors fail at so he shouldn't feel too bad. He was better than Operation Overdrive's voice acting. But I must ask, and please don't think bad of me because I really can't tell - is Kesley's actor dark skinned, or just tanned?

What did you think of the Titanium Ranger arc?
Very good, very strong, probaby the best Sixth Ranger arc since the original Green With Evil. Something that really helped, for me, was seeing Carter, who we've already seen could probably take Satan in a fight, and even if he couldn't would try, not being able to stand the Titanium powers meant that any other person using 'em would say 'this bloke is hard, even if he does look like he's in a boyband'.

What did you think of the zords and the megazords?
I just don't like vehicle based Zords - The Megazords were good, design wise i liked them but they still split up into vehicles - I would have been very dissapointed to have them as toys as a kid if I'd had the Lost Galaxy Zords before them. In fact I stopped bothering with the toys with Turbo for that reason, compared to the Original, Ninja and Zeo Zords they were just...cars.

How did you feel about 'Trakeena's Revenge'?
Violated. Does violated count? Ok that's a bit over the top this is only a kids show with all-ages appeal. Let down then. I watched it even though I'd been told over and over by that reliable source the internet that it was going to be crappy, but I wanted to watch all the team-ups. The internet was right, it was crappy, it's even worse in context - coming between To the Tenth Power and Time for Lightspeed. The Lost Galaxy characters got cheated, the viewers got cheated, somebody sack the script-writer.

What are your favorite LR episodes?
I tend to be very biased towards Sixth Raner arcs, so the From Deep Within the Shadows/Truth Discovered arc is easily my favourite. I rather like Sorcerer of the Sands too.

What did you think of the Mega Battles?
I actually had to google what the hell they were - they're the big gun things? I have absolutley no opinion on them. I guess it makes sense that a military style operation would have lots of weapons for it's operatives.

What did you think of the MMPR using the Lightspeed Megazord in a sketch of Robot Chicken?
I don't watch Robot Chicken so I really don't care too much, even then I don't see the issue, other than gonig 'oh they used the wrong zords, perhaps they have more of a life than me' - which i presume they actually do, being gainfull employed an' all (yep, 25, unemployed, living at home, posting on a forum about a kids show with all-ages appeal, any wonder i'm single at the moment? I may as well just go speed dating dressed in a Star Trek uniform*)

What did you think when Bansheera left Olympius in the Shadow World and started showing her true colors?
"About time we got a decent villain in this show, maybe we can get someone who can almost match Carter Grayson's levels of badassery"

What did you think of the Finale?
What i mostly remember about it is it's lighting, lots of shadows and blues. I've only watched this once I think, I remember being satisfied with it though - it did feel like things got very deserpate for the Rangers, very down to the wire.

Any final thoughts on Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue?
I hear a lot abot this being a really underrated season, which of course means can it still be underrated if everyone's saying it's underrated and thus rating it? But i see thier point - there is a lot to like, not many of them are villains, but the Rangers especially are good to watch.

During your initial viewing of the season, did you figure out on your own that the Titanium suit did not belong beside the others?
No. So someone somewhere did a good job as far as I'm concerned, or i'm thick (especially as I watchd this AFTER I watched Linkara's review of it, where he flat out tells us that fact)

*i don't actually like Star Trek, I don't like Queen either, I'm weird.

*Very first season I ever watched, started with the episode "As Time Runs Out". I was 6 years old and it was my very first exposure to superheroes.

What did you think of the Lightspeed Aqua Base?
*Pretty cool place to have headquarters. To bad it got trashed :(

*All of them (-Kelsey, Dana, Ms. Fairweather and Vypra) turned in very good perfomances. Joel especially. He made me laugh so hard with his "Sky cowboy" talk. Very very funny

What did you think of the Titanium Ranger arc?
*Very good story. Should have been expanded on however. The Curse Of The Cobra I think wasn't needed.

What did you think of the zords and the megazords?
*Supertrain..........HOLY CRUD THAT THING IS AMAZING! The other Zords.....didn't really cut it for me.

How did you feel about 'Trakeena's Revenge'?
*It's a good teamup, but not the best. I originally saw it when they distributed Power Rangers In 3D in stores. I watched it like 4 times the same day.

What did you think of the Mega Battles?
*Ehhhhhhh.........Only used twice (3 counting Time Force).......I hate when they do that :(

What did you think of the MMPR using the Lightspeed Megazord in a sketch of Robot Chicken?
*I do not care for Robot Chicken

What did you think when Bansheera left Olympius in the Shadow World and started showing her true colors?
*She's a physco I tell you!!!!!!

What did you think of the Finale?
*.............Hardly any Carter in Part 2.............It felt rushed.

Any final thoughts on Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue?
*Even though it was the first season I watched, it's not the best. Comes in at #11 on my list. It wasn't bad, but not great. I WANT THAT HUMMER.

During your initial viewing of the season, did you figure out on your own that the Titanium suit did not belong beside the others?
*As a kid, I didn't know it was a Japanese show. I found out years later why the Sentai was called "GOGOV".

Power Rangers Lightspeed Resuce was the best season ever and still is along with PRiS, PRLG, PRTF and PRWF. I've been recently watching this show on Netflix. Right now, I'm on episode 27.

I can't forget how awesome this season was.

The Rangers were fantastic but I'm not a fan of Titanium Ranger. To be honest, the story was pretty good for some odd reason for me. Somehow, I liked how they handled with Titanium Ranger arc with the story between Diabolico, Ryan and Captain Mitchell. I'm glad they didn't use Titanium Ranger that much during the season.

As for the villains, I was very surprised that Saban and Toei/Sentai handled with the demons. They were not completely useless like Shinkenger's and ****** Samurai's villains. They decided to go out of the palace to do something to destroy Marine Bay and to fight the Rangers. The villains were fantastic. Also, I liked when there were a clash between Diabolico and Olympius. One thing that completely irritate me is... Vypra. She was the worst villain ever. Seriously. LOL. Queen Bansheena was badass in the beginning of the final battle to last episode. She was very creepy and badass.

I also don't understand why most fans actually hate the team up with Lost Galaxy Rangers. Personally I liked the team up, but I wish they didn't use the kid in 2-parters. She was so annoying as heck. Loved to see all 10 Rangers working together. I was so disappointed that they didn't bring Magna Defender back for the team up, but that is okay anyway.

The final battle was well done! Great fight and all that. Especially destroying the Aquabase.

Oh man, I'm so excited to own DVD when it is release by Shout! Factory in the near future. So excited. Can't wait! :)

I just wished more morphed footage of Ryan could have been shown.

We need more Ryan! xD
Also one of my favorites, but Saban haven't had enough money for footage T_T
Kelsey - this character is the one that I've almost fall in love with <3
Sasha Williams is NYAN! *______*
