Lightspeed Rescue was a very good season......the storyline was good and there were some good episodes there and there. The finale was great and the team up was very good too.
The cast is pretty good too.

I can not believe this is the 10th anniversary of Lightspeed Rescue...I remember watching the premiere and saying hmmm this is ok...Im huge fan of Space and Lost Galaxy so i was expecting something more....but Lightspeed started slow and quickly picked up....I enjoyed the whole season...Not my favorite cast but I did love the Joel/Ms.Fairwheather storyline...
I will give Lightspeed credit for having some of the best villains in all the shows history. loved the impus/olympius story as well as the diabolico/ olympius power struggle! I loved the idea of the deamons and loved queen Bansheera especially towards the end. cant forget the awesome titanium ranger storyline! the team up which was good! and the finale of course.

I'd assume it was a mistakeNo, they edited out all civilian shots except the hands on the morphers (which made it obvious it wasn't Damon, since GingaGreen obviously wasn't dark skinned). I think they just didn't have time to get the Lost Galaxy stock footage.

Well, the first time it was on, I never watched it. Likewise, as I stopped with Lost Galaxy, I didn't see the promos.
Now that I'm catching up (stopped at the middle of the twenty-first episode for now), I can say that the first episode was pretty awesome. Everything was good about it: a nice start, an interesting take on the "conquer the world" plot--only it was a city this time around, and, of course, a nice change in the "Never reveal your identity" rule that was set by Zordon. Oh, and do I love (most of) the cast!

I loved this cast for the most part. The Joel and Ms Fairweather bit was mostly annoying but at times hilarious. I didn't like Kelsey. Carter was pretty cool and the all american guy. Joel was the comedic relief. Chad was kind of just there. Dana was a nice progression from earlier pinks. Ryan was so bad@$$. I still don't understand to this day why they didn't just add Ryan in when they made American sequences.

And I will admit that it's a very underrated season. A shame that once it was first aired and completed, people hated it. But they're entitled to their opinions.
Well, for the Rangers part, I like them except for Dana in the halfway point (sad that she grew from a strong female to the ditz, really--she had potential). Out of all of them, though, my favorite has to be Carter Grayson. His heroic attitude makes him intriguing to watch. I can also relate to him because I, too, am a perfectionist.
And I might be in the minority, but I also like his portrayer, Sean Cw Johnson. He's...oh, how should I say this?...different from all the other Red Ranger actors up to this point. However, I felt that he did an amazing job portraying Carter, but that's just me. You're entitled to your opinions about the entire cast/actors, really.
As for everyone else, I thought that Kelsey was a fun, perky Yellow Ranger, and I really liked her personality. Joel was a bit of a hothead, but he certainly had an interesting romantic relationship with Ms. Fairweather. Chad does have the cool moves (thanks, Michael Chaturantabut!), and his sometimes-shyness is so sweet. Dana, as mentioned earlier, had the potential to be a strong female character and a good role model, but yikes. Later on, she was the only Lightspeed character I didn't care for, which, again, is sad.
As for the supporting characters, Captain Mitchell was a good father-like figure to our heroes, and he knows what he is doing. Ms. Fairweather is very intelligent, pretty, and another interesting character.
Of course, I liked the other actors that are not mentioned above, every single one.

I remember an episode of Rangercast Impy(I think it was) said Carter was the type of person who can genuinely get away with saying something like "You Hot Dog"
arcadiarika
03-01-2010, 07:45 PM
Is hot dog one of them?
(giggles) No. That would be Joel.
When I was recapping the series, I made up the nicknames "the God Mode Stu Form" and "the God of Lightspeed" just for fun, craziness, and a response to Tommy's status. Besides, Carter nearly went to Heck and nearly died trying to destroy the real Demonite...which I will save until the finale talk. He isn't the only character that I created nicknames for, though.
And bobtherandomguy, Carter has gotten away with a ton of corny stuff. "Let's see what these bad boys can do!", "Freeze missiles? That sounds cool!", etc. But that's okay, because a lot of Rangers do this type of stuff.

Yeah, but that was a reworking of the infamous phrase first started in "Kamen Rider Decade," fitted for the situation.
Anyway, I think that Dana had a lot of potential. I dare wonder why the writers decided to derail her (aside, perhaps, from the toys = important--which could explain why, say, Carter has the M.A.V instead of Joel).

Fury Diamond, I will admit that the theme song is one of the best. Not to mention the catchiest...when I first heard it, it was stuck in my head the entire time.
RedJou, yes, but there was a time where they did that Power Vote thing (basically, who's the kids' favorite Ranger) back in the day, and Ryan/the Titanium Ranger won.
Speaking of, it was interesting to see how they created the first all-American Power Ranger. Very cool, in fact.

Simply put, to disprove RedJou's theory of kids wanting to become Red Rangers, they would most likely choose the cool Sixth Ranger and not care for the others.
As for Ryan, I thought he was okay. I was annoyed with his daddy issues (though, to be fair, Diabolico Prime placed such thoughts into the guy's head for years), but he grew on me once he had the power limitation in the form of the cobra tattoo.

I'm not entirely sure, but my guess for some time has been so they could begin the sequence with their hands touching their morphers, like the Lightspeed Rangers did; not that I think about it however, they could've just added the hand sequence from the Gingaman morph, and just go into the regular Lost Galaxy Morph!!!

The trailers are very cool to LRS, well i liked of this new concept to because this is first time the powers dont came of universal sourse or the villans come of the spaceship this time the powers come for a govermment agency and develoment by humans and the villans are from the earth that as awesome new fresh concept, i liked a lot of this team of rangers and the demons to because the plot as awesome really cool storylines many betrayal between the villans and LSR begins really cool and awesome, the Megazords are awesome, the rangers, weapons in this season prety much cool, the battles between the main villans and the rangers are cool, this season as create a is six ranger concept, the big rivals Diabolico and Olympios as awesome, the queen as very awesome and really evil, team up as awesome in general LSR as pretty amazing

The villans are pretty amazing the plots between them when Olympios try to finish with Loki and Vypra the demons are divided between Queen Bansheera,Olympios and Jinxer but i think Jinxer is more loyal to Olympios that the Queen but in general Jinxer serve more Queen and Prince, Diabolico, Loki and Vypra are another side of the team but we see Diabolico is loyal to queen as well but when Queen destroy Loki and Vypra, Diabolico wants revenge from her, I liked as well when Ryas as search for the thing for prison the demons again and find the sorcerer of the sands and when Diabolico help the rangers to fight Olympios as pretty amazing that moment is moratal enemy became a friend of the rangers

Diabolico (at least, later on in the series) and Queen Bansheera didn't annoy me as much. While I did like the villains' plan, I found most to be intolerable. Impus was so cute, but Olympius (so far) has been nothing but a crybaby. Vypra...it should go without saying why she got on my nerves (yes, it was, I think, Jennifer Yen's first role, but still). Loki does have his funny moments, but he's kinda a brute.
Keep in mind that, aside from the first twenty-and-a-half episodes, I have seen others (but have yet to recap them, obviously).

well Diabolico with Star power is powerfull but even without is very stronger to in the case of Olympios when receive the star power he have the power of Diabolico have but when he learn to use the star power became even more powerfull that Diabolico as when he have the star power
LR disappointed me. Maybe it was because it came after an awesome Lost Galaxy season, and didn't quite meet that one. But the cast was awesome, as were the characters. And a part of me just can't help but feel they made a simple, interest concept far too complex. But on the plus side, I don't think any season has a greater finale.

This was a supremely underrated season from what I've seen in the fandom, but now ranks pretty high on my favorite list. Sure, the team-up was terrible, but the overall storyline was well thought out. I absolutely loved Captain Mitchell's role in Carter's life as the unknown firefighter. The captain was actually one of my favorite characters in the season. While he was the strict commander over the rangers, he also played the role of a very approachable mentor, seeing as he was also Dana's caring father. Not to mention, I thought the actor who portrayed him was very skilled.

Diabolico is one of the greatest villains in PR history... nuff said.
The Rangers were alright. I didn't really like Carter at first, but in recent years, I grew to like him. He wasn't a bad Red Ranger at all. He was pretty cool, looking back at it.
Joel is still my favourite Lightspeed Ranger. Ryan was your typical 6th Ranger with an awesome intro, but wasn't used to his full potential after.

I thought this was a solid season with characters that were not all that interesting. But that didn't matter as much for me since this season was mainly known to me as probably the most flashy. They made that Titanium Ranger cool as hell (hence my namesake). But the Zords in this season were also the best, at the time, I didn;'t recall so many megazords in one season. But they definitely hyped up the Supertrain Megazord and the Lightspeed Solarzord too.

I still get freaked out when I see cause you dont know whats happening to much to him or hows shes hurting him. I liked Loki
arcadiarika
03-05-2010, 05:01 PM
As mentioned, most of the villains did nothing for me. Diabolico Prime (as I nicknamed the demon in honor/reference of Neil Kaplan's then-future role as Transformers: Robots in Disguise's incarnation of Optimus Prime) and Queen Bansheera were my only favorites--Diabolico grew from a typical card-carrying demon into a Noble Demon, and Bansheera's backstabbing was interesting to watch.
Vypra was not only just there, but I was one of those who also didn't like Jennifer Yen's acting. So much so that I lampshaded it in my recaps. Loki does have a few funny moments and a sad one near the end of his...life, I guess, but he's a loudmouth. Jinxer was somewhat okay, nothing more, nothing less. Finally, Impus was so adorable, but Olympius is just pathetic (to put it nicely) to watch. The guy got beaten down in his debut, for heaven's sake!

What did you think of the new villains?
The Villans of LSR as pretty awesome
Queen Bansheera as a awesome villan, i liked a lot of her she carry with Impus but when he turn in Olympios everthing change, i liked when Bansheera begins to sacrifice is own minions, and is generals as pretty cool, she complete is tru form with Vypra power and Bansheera becames really freaky, she dont cares about anyone just about rebuilt is own palace for all means, and when she battles the rangers as awesome when she almost destroy the rangers and even live is own son in the Shadow world and she is a complete diferent kind of villan for example Scorpios care a lot about Trakeena, Bansheera dont even cares about is own son
Olympios as a awesome villan too, i really liked of him, in is introduction he defeated the rangers and have much like is mother twisted and evil, i liked to see he use the star power and is hatred aganst Diabolico, Vypra and Loki, because when he almost destroy Loki and Vypra, and when Oplympios almost destroy the rangers in the shadow world, i really liked when he escapes of the shadow world and return more powerfull and is new energy form and give to the rangers a pretty fight all Megazords aganst him, and the star power as destroyed, Olympios super demon form i dont liked much but as pretty powerfull aganst the rangers
Diabolico as awesome villan, he leads the Demons when Bansheera as not there, i liked when he createds the Titanium ranger to fight the rangers that as cool, Diabolico final monsters as cool and the curse of the Cobra for the Ryas as a nice touch of Diabolico as cool when Diabolico battles the rangers and almost destroy them but i the end as destroyed, i liked when he return and no one expect is return and them, begins the battles between Diabolico and Olympios as awesome that plot, as really bad he dont see him in the team-up, i really liked to see Diabolico ploting agasnt Olympios when he leaves Olympios in the shadow world and keeps the Golden key to himself. i liked about much of Diabolico he is very loyal to is friends but when he understands Bansheera is not loyal to is generals, Diabolico goes to help is friend Loki, and Loki battles the rangers and Diabolico see is friend dies in is own hands and Diabolico is no more loyal to the Queen and want revenge aganst the queen as pretty awesome i really liked when Diabolico takes charges again when Olympios is banished for the Shadow world, the super demon form of Diabolico as awesome i really liked of that suit the power of Diabolico and Olympios have together in super demons as awesome such power abd destroyed all Megazord because Bansheera make them in super demons as awesome to see, when Diabolico return back and help the rangers and battles Olympios and give Carter the Golden Key, but Olympios destroy him, but Diabolico and Olympios together have a amazing power together
Loki as a cool demon have is moments, and fight the rangers and have is discuss is with Olympios because they see Olympios like a kid, and since Olympios failed to destroyed the rangers in is debut they never respect Olympions anymore, and as trick be the Bansheera when her use him to fight the rangers and die in Diabolico hands
Vypra as cool she have her moments to when all most destroy the rangers, she as absorv by the queen when Bansheera need a bost of power to complete is true demon form
Jinker he have is moments to, and help a lot of the others demons and he is much loyal to Olympios when as Banished for the Shadow world, he help Olympios recover is forces to strike again the ranger, he is more loyal to Bansheera and Olympios that the others
in general the develoment of the story of the demons are awesome i think the demons as more develoment that the rangers story

yh, in the end Diabolico have is revenge aganst the Queen Bansheera

Okay. Ultimate gushing in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...
I really loved (most of) the cast members. They all portrayed their characters extremely well, and I felt that none of them were overacting just for the sake of it.
Rhett Fisher did a rather decent job as Ryan, and the Titanium Ranger's story wouldn't have been effective had the role been portrayed by someone else. Alison MacInnis, however, is pretty much my second-to-least favorite cast member, as I was pretty much on the fence with her portrayal as Dana. She wasn't bad, per se, but rather given a presence that made me go (most of the time, except for "A Matter of Trust") "meh." Sasha Williams had her role as Kelsey down perfectly, and I really liked her energy and spunkiness. Nice combination for her character. Keith Robinson was excellent as Joel--no wonder why the character is pretty much a fan-favorite out of the core group. He had the nice combination of charisma and quirky humor, and he is a great singer. Finally, Michael Chaturantabut/Mike Chat was a pretty good actor, as he portrayed Chad very well, and he was also a darned good martial artist.
And then, of course, there's Sean Cw Johnson. As mentioned, out of all the mostly-excellent cast members, he's my personal favorite. I felt that he had the right combination down when he portrayed Carter--excellent acting, leadership, and determination. Carter's backstory wouldn't have been effective if anyone else portrayed the Red Ranger, and while the rest of the Carter-focused episodes were glorified toy debuts, Sean still remained excellent (especially in one of said toy debuts, "Yesterday Again", which was pretty much his Crowning Moment of Awesome). Finally, I certainly can't forget the real-life story prior to Lightspeed: Sean met up with Christopher Khayman Lee in an episode of Safe Harbor during the airing of Lost Galaxy, the two became best friends (mini-"Forever Red"!), and Christopher inspired Sean to go for the role of Carter. So I have to thank Christopher, too.
Now for the supporting characters. It's hard to choose which supporting actor as a favorite, as both Monica Louwerens and Ron Rogge portrayed their characters well. The stories featuring their characters--Ms. Fairweather's romance with Joel and the Titanium Ranger story, respectively--were not only well-written, but also well-acted. So kudos to them both.
As for the villains, the voice actors were good in their roles. Jennifer Yen, though...do I really have to say it? It was her first role, but that's no excuse for her "portrayal" as Vypra, and she was my least favorite cast member. Rather astounding that someone could act worse in a series that has overall-bad-to-mediocre (except, to me, for Lightspeed) actors, but, somehow, she went beyond the impossible.
Overall, I felt that the cast is my favorite one, and they were very excellent in their roles.

What did you think of the cast members?
The cast as well choise for the characters
Carter as cool, and is job as awesome and is toryline as pretty cool, he is became firemen because as save in the past by one, and always ttry to be like is hero as in the past,Carter sometimes as dougts about is leadership but as a cool red ranger and always ready for the battles, and i really liked is chemestry with Captain Mitchell who as the one who save is in the past, and in the team-up as really cool see him like longe side of Leo and as cool red ranger and when Carter tell the others about the Ryan secret of Captain Mitchell, and when Carter in some epsiodes have much focus when in some episodes risks in life to destroy Demonite almost destroy himself, Carter as very cool when make Diabolico remeber as past with Bansheera and when find out as Olympios as alive, and when goes alone fight Bansheera that as awesome
Ryan as a cool character and is debut as awesome a evil ranger with no spell, is storyline as pretty amazing and as very close to destroy the rangers, and the plot of the Curse of Cobra as well made and made Ryan a cool character on the team, and thanks to him Diabolico as destroyed with the combination of Megazord of both, the quest of Ryan to find out the ancient scripts to prison again the demons as cool too, because in some way Ryan knows much about the demons and deal much with them when Diabolico raise Ryan to be evil, i really liked the moment of the Sorcerer of the Sands with Ryan in that we learn the demons almost as seal away but they have to have the golden key, well Ryan as cool character, Ryan come and go away something like happen to Zhane in PRIS, i dont like much when for example we see Ryan sometime in the develoment of the plot and him as present in big moment, Diabolico fall, Diabolico return and when return to the tomb and as capture for the Queen, but i think they should made with Ryan as make him return more sooner and not just in the final episodes.
Dana as hot and a complete diferent character of the others past pink rangers we see ntil now because Dana as be teach by is father for this mission protect Mariner bay of the Demons conquest but she dont know, she as a good candidation to as be the leader of the team in my opinion because she as tranning to became a good ranger, but we know she want to be doctor, and i liked when happens she becames a model for few time in LSR that as funny to see that, and that interfering with LSR duties, i really liked she as have a close relation with is father Captain Mitchell and we know she cares a a lot of him and is brother to Ryan, i really liked when she goes alone fight Ryan as pretty cool she have is moment in LSR as pink ranger
Chad as cool and fight good and we know is very reserved i like when he knows Marina the marmaid well Mariner bay is full of suprises, he fight very good and have is good friend Kelsey, and are cool, Kelsey teach him much things, well we know Chad have is moment too in LSR with Marina and as quite funny and always fight for is believe
Kelsey as good rose to, she as the crazy one of the team and always take ricks, we know she likes of sports and fights a lot well and have is moments too,
Joel he is the funny guy i really liked is try to go out with Miss Fairweather as cool, and have is moments too when he save Miss Fairwheater brother when Olympios monster attack him, and receive the battlyzer form him and Chad too.
Captain Mitchell as awesome character and the mentor of the team and give the orders to the rangers and is relation with is doctor and son as cool and always aware of as coming to the team
Angela Fairweather as a cool character and develoment all Tecnology of the rangers since the start and that as pretty cool
Titanium Power

I remember Carter as this very tall Boy Scout, always following the rules and such. It was the first time I've seen a red ranger who acted straight by the books. but anyways, I liked him enough to say he was average among the red rangers.
Ryan was awesome as Titanium Ranger at the very least, for the issues he had with his father
Captain Mitchell was a very relate able person to the audience, I had this average joe personality. And I loved the moment when he just froze when the Aquabase was being destroyed, it was a vulnerability that you often don't see with characters.

Never knew that. That show must've bombed badly, it doesn't even have a Wikipedia article.
Safe Harbor was somewhat the talk of 1999 when it first premiered. Heck, Christopher was interviewed by "Teen Beat" at one point during the show. However, due to low ratings, the show was canceled after ten episodes.
To be more specific, Sean guest-starred in the ninth episode, "One for the Road" (gee, how fitting in hindsight...), and he and Chris shared some scenes together. This wasn't the first time a Power Ranger actor/crew member was on the show--even Koichi Sakamoto guest-starred as a karate instructor in the earlier episode, "The Invasion". Needless to say, considering that I haven't seen the episode but did see some screencaps, I guess real life translated from TV.
Despite being canceled, the Christopher/Sean friendship story is one that some Power Ranger fans still remember from Safe Harbor, even though it happened offscreen. And maybe--just maybe--it adds to another layer of "interesting", given that we know that Chris cameoed in Lightspeed as a random Aquabase tech (though that one was because he was friends with the crew).

yh, when Captain Mitchell see the first tower of the Aquabase fall as really epic, we see him really forzen and he see another thing of him, when Aquabase as about to really be destroy Captain dont like is post and stay there like a Captain he stays until the base falls but as really to see is reaction to the fall of the Aquabase because i think no one is expect the foot soldiers enter in the Aquabase and destroy all base, is really epic all happens in the final of LSR

What did you think of the Titanium Ranger arc?
The Titanium ranger arc as awesome, i think as a really change because this ranger as evil and not as a influence of the evil spell the way of the Titanium morpher as take of the Aqua base as awesome nobody see him, the battles between Ryan and the rangers are awesome and see the way of the rangers are beaten as cool and as the introduction of the V-lacers and almost the rangers kill him, the story of Titanium ranger as Ryan the lost son of Captain Mitchell as cool and see as Diabolico as who save him in the past as cool, and they way of Dana battles Ryan to try make Ryan learn the truth about is past because Captain Mitchell dont have choise, this arc as cool to because goes to the way of Diabolico have the final change of Queen Bansheera and the final monsters of Diabolico give really good work to the rangers to handle with them they almost be destroyed by them and the instroduction of the Ryan zord as cool and the combination between Max zord solar and Lightspeed Megazord as really cool i really like that combination and the final battle aganst Diabolico as really awesome and the battle aganst the Cobra as cool and this all goes to final battle aganst one of the Demons most powers of them and Diabolico is destroyed and leads to the debut of the Olympois and the ceremony of the Queen and i think the Story arc of Ryan goes until there

It was pretty good, but I probably would have liked it more if Ryan didn't have so many daddy issues in the beginning. Yes, Diabolico did place stuff inside his head, but...
Or, episode-by-episode breakdown:
"From Deep in the Shadows": Okay, rather interesting. The Titanium Ranger appears, and the twist at the end was good.
"Truth Discovered": Sad. From when we find out about Ryan to the end, it's a Tear Jerker. I actually cried at the end of Ryan's backstory--heartbreaking stuff.
"Ryan's Destiny": Overall, one of my least favorite episodes of the entire season. Ryan easily beats the three new demons, and the other Rangers do not get a shot? Ugh...and even some of the good stuff (the woman giving Ryan some advice) were outweighed by how bad this one was. You're entitled to your opinion, but...at least I was happy when Ryan got his power limitation in the form of the cobra tattoo.
"Curse of the Cobra": Okay, so Ryan is weakened by the cobra, and we do get some interesting scenes with him thinking about his dilemna. At least he is no longer a God Mode Stu. Even Captain Mitchell forbidding his son to morph was a rather semi-good choice--I understand where he's coming from: the captain does not want to lose his son again.
"Strength of the Sun": With Ryan getting a new toy and finding out that the cobra's ready to kill him, it was rather good. Especially when he disobeys his dad to save the Rangers.
"The Cobra Strikes": Epic. Ryan defeats the cobra monster (which I nicknamed "not!Snizzard" in my recap), and the curse is lifted. The Rangers manage to defeat Diabolico Prime. A good semi-ending to the arc, even though Ryan's not done yet.
Overall, I thought that the arc was decent. It was well-written, the plot twists were used so well that they would make M. Night weep in jealousy, and it wasn't boring. But it's a shame that I couldn't find Ryan to be anything more than "okay."

I'd need to go back and rewatch it, but I do remember enjoying it. It was great to learn more about the Mitchell family (though the series could have perhaps done a little foreshadowing). Rhett Fisher was a good actor for the role, and he and Allison seemed to have good onscreen chemistry -- I could honestly believe they were brother and sister. The only real problem I had with the arc was that there was no way Diabolico could have made that deal with Captain Mitchell ... wasn't he supposed to be locked in the Tomb of Forever? I'm hardpressed, though, to think of a way around it, so, that aside, the arc was interesting.
And when Ryan finally came to his senses and joined the team, that was that. But wait! Diabolico upped the ante for him big time with that tattoo. Max Solarzord was pretty neat; I didn't know until recently (thanks RangerCrew!) that it was just a supplementary zord, nor did I know that Titanium Ranger was completely American-made. I also enjoyed how the arc ended, leading us right into the debut of Olympius. STARRRRR POOOOWWWERRRR!! :P

Come to think of it, I thought it was interesting when I found out that Rhett tried out for Carter, but he ended up portraying Ryan. But that's another story.
And about how Diabolico saved Ryan and made a deal with Captain Mitchell, I guess the demon had astral projection or something like that. Or, at least, that's what the TvTropes article said. But it is certainly one of those mysteries that left us fans guessing.

What did you think of the zords and the megazords?
I have to say Lightspeed Fleet of the Megazords are pretty awesome !!!!
Rescue Zords are cool i liked of there desings
Lightspeed Megazord as a cool first cool Megazord and pretty amazing for the rangers, the megazord defeat much easy the monsters
Rail Rescues are cool and i really loved the Super Train Megazord as pretty amazing and massive reminds a lot of the Shogun Megazord because is really powerfull and really cool and big and as awesome, and sometimes even more big that the Monsters and the Megazord finish as cool the as cool and a complete and one of the best megazord of the PR LSR
Max Solarzord as cool zord for the Titanium ranger and pretty cool that zord and have cool fight moves and help the rangers, and i really liked when Max solarzords combine with Lightspeed Megazord as a cool combination and a nice final strike to destroy the monsters and the rangers use a lot him and combination remainds me a lot of the Astrodelta Megazord
Omega Zords are cool and form the Omega Megazord as a cool Megazord and have another mode the Omega Crowler as cool to and use sometimes in few battles the Omega Mgazord is awesome too, as the powerfull megazord and is finishes strike to destroy the monsters are really cool and the rangers use a lot of him
Lifeforce Megazord well its looks like the Lightspeed Solar but just changes the colors and dont have in diferent Zords but is a cool and diferent concept of Megazord use the life energy the rangers for give energy to the Megazord it as sad this Megazord just appears in the just final episodes of the PR LSR but even just show few episodes they use him well
The Zords and Megazords of the LSR as pretty amazing and, I think as the concept as diferent of the past Megazords as build by universal powers who give them powers and even the Megazords make decisions

It wasn't bad, per se, but it was really...weird.
From classic lines such as "Joel, you are such a hot dog!" and "Let me check this guy (Triskull in disguise) out"--both from Carter, the master of spouting off cheesy, what-in-the-heck-inducing lines, to Leo having a different voice, to the recasting of Trakeena and, for whatever reason, wanting to be green again...among others, it was really, really weird.
Thus, it can be summarized as such...Big-Lipped Alligator Moment.

The begins as cool, starts with Leo in Mirinoi with Quasar saber and morphs and battles the Ghouls and Tryskull as really cool, Trisskull as pretty cool monster, the deal between Queen Bansheera and Trakeena as pretty cool we see the alliance between and the plot of Trakenna to destroy Bansheera and becames the ruler of the universe, the ideia of absorve energy of the humans for Trakeena as transforms in Bug again as cool and is new army as cool with the Ghouls and the Tryskull the battles of Leo with the help of the Galaxy ranger are cool and Carter and the little gil as funny to find out about the monster but when the rangers join forces with Maya, Kai and Leo as cool and the Galazy rangers morph as much diferent of the LG series, the ranger as really easy defeate by Tryskull and i dont like much in the first part just we see Maya, Kai and Leo i think they could put them all, well the second part as cool because Olympios and Bansheera find out of Trakeena plot to destroy them, and we know Trakeena in is green form as such power even can destroy Olympios and wee see the poison of Olympios plan to punished Trakeena for is betrayal. the plan of the rangers to enter in the building as cool, and the battle of Carter and Leo vs Tryskull i liked a lot and when they enter to save the civilans, Trakeena shows up Kendrix and Damon enter to help them as cool, well the rangers morph as awesome the roll call too, and we see the all rangers battle all demons in battle as awesome and the new Trakenna form as awesome really i liked a lot much better that Green form, when the rangers use both Megazords as awesome they use all powers and even with that they dont destroy as amazing when they combine the Lights of Orion and make the Orion Omega Megazord as awesome that combination well this team up as pretty awesome in everthing...
A few thing in thsi team up they could even put Diabolico in this team up because this team up make the demons work all together to destroy the rangers, as really ironic Trakeena in PRLG dont want transform in bug and in this team up she want transforms, even she as to betray the Bansheera but in general as a amazing team up, well i think they should be to this team up Mike as Magna defender because will be awesome to see or even Karone too, because will be great she Karone again

Yeah. Only Japan is allowed to treat the child-of-the-day as more important than the Rangers! (I think they patented it way back in Zyuranger)

Yeah. He took child of the week to the next level. Though with rangers that are fifteen or so in seasons now, would y'all consider them sort of child rangers. Since she's all of a year older than Justin, I do consider the second Shinkenred as a child ranger

That's a little weird. They were all of two years older than Justin was when he began his ranger career. Is two years that crucial?
Cmdr Crayfish
03-20-2010, 06:34 PM
That was when they had collectively hit puberty. Justin would be 14 by True Blue to the Rescue and he looked nothing like the MMPR. Some people simply mature faster than others. I was my full height by 14.
And there has been a fan theory Billy was held back a year (hence his "early" graduation in Zeo was anything but) due to various reasons. Lack of social skills, standard fanon dead mother, etc. That one requires some wiggle room since Billy had never gotten anything less than an A prior to 1994, but it's doable. You could even swing that one for Tommy. In response to Rov's stock "Zordon was building the team he wanted around Kimberly" theory, Derik theorized the teens were all simply in remedial classes with Bulk and Skull for various reasons and that's why Miss Applebee was almost always their teacher. Would even let you state for the record that Tommy was also held back a year due to his own emotional problems (as well as changing schools, not fitting in, his own crappy memory, etc.).

Let's also remember that Justin was stymied in a way that even Billy wasn't due to the presence of Trini and an extended circle of friends through her relationship with Kim and Kim's relationships with Jason and Zack. Justin had no one other than his parents that we know of prior to becoming a Power Ranger. He wasn't close to any of the other kids at the shelter. His mother was dead. His father had an emotional meltdown from her death. He was isolated from the world and his peers due to his own considerable genius... Justin never had a chance to be a normal kid, and then he got treated like either a genius or a superhero. Of course the only place he felt like he belonged was with the future Space Rangers. They were the first people who DID treat him as a peer in any regard, while still giving him the latitude needed to be a child. Justin, at thirteen, acted more like Blake's ten than anything. Out of necessity.

oh you meant Lightspeed itself was the golden age, that's totally different. I can agree with that statement
Well LSR as a complete concept of the others past team of rangers because this team as the first with powers made by humans and even the Villans are of the earth not Space aliens, since LSR and others seasons of PR the villans are of the planet earth
Digifiend

True, later seasons did it as well, but Lightspeed was the first season where the villains weren't space aliens and there was no alien involvement in the creation of the powers.

That we know of. We have no idea just what kinds of technology, if any, Angela had appropriated from previous Ranger teams. But given the adjacent privately owned space exploration company out of Mariner Bay was also using the same type of experimental hyperrush capable shuttle as NASADA was building and Lightspeed's own Solarzord could fly deep into the solar system and back in a matter of minutes? I don't have any problems believing Lightspeed was every bit as Zordon backed as the GSA. That's pretty common fanon for a reason, y'know. The fact Carter behaved as a SUBORDINATE to a civilian like Tommy speaks volumes.

I quite loved almost all episodes, as they were very well-written. But if I had to choose favorites...
"Trial By Fire"/"A Face from the Past": This double-header shows a nice backstory as to why Carter chose to save lives--he wanted to be just like the mysterious fireman, who turns out to be Captain Mitchell. And once we finally find out who the fireman is, not only does it make sense, but it's just heartwarming.
"A Matter of Trust": You know, it's rather sad that Dana doesn't have this type of characterization all throughout the series. This episode shows how much of a strong female character she is, not to mention the relationship with her dad. Once she finds out that her father's old friend, Earl, has that fuel cell instead of the Rangers, things get better.
"Yesterday Again": This may be an odd mixture of regular Power Rangers with Groundhog Day, but it's still a very, very good episode. This is one of my favorite episodes of all time because it asks the question that no other episode dared to bring up: what would happen if you see your friends' deaths before you went back in time? What would you do to try to change that timeline? Also, this is Sean's Crowning Moment of Awesome (but that may be a stretch--he was just brilliant in that episode), as he actually made Carter more compelling when the character faced his dilemnas, for lack of a better term.
I have yet to see all of the finale arc, but out of the episodes that I have seen so far from memory, "Rise of the Super Demons" and both parts of "The Fate of Lightspeed" definitely make the list. Special mentions go to most of the Titanium Ranger arc sans "Ryan's Destiny," even though that episode does have its good moments.

Supertrain Megazord as awesome and i liked when they lose battles and the Megazords are put out of commission, because they in LSR have many Megazords and for example when they have the Omega Megazord they use a lot of the Lightspeed Solarzord istead of use Omega Megazord, that kind of situation happens in others series like in PRIS they have the Mega Voyager and use a lot of the Astro Megazord

well this Mega Battles as something really diferent because since PRIS just red rangers as the battlyzer and in LSR two more rangers have the Mega Battles as the kind like the Battlyzer but i think they are more weak that the red battlyzer and as cool see that change and it is really awesome but for example he have the 3 male rangers with that kind of weapons and as cool see when they battles Olympios and Diabolico with the Battlyzers and as amazing see the great power of all armors and battlyzers have together to destroy Olympios

The final as really awesome and Epic...
Wrath of the Queen - Awesome episode the way of Queen Bansheera became a really more evil that before, she absorvs Vypra to gain the last boost energy she needs and we see is true form of Queen Bansheera really twist and evil, Loki give a present to is frend Diabolico as cool to see that and Loki ask to Bansheera a change to finish the rangers once and for all as awesome and Diabolico heards they for are are just puppets in her game and Diabolico dont like much of that as amazing that, Loki battle the rangers and almost finish them but Diabolico comes to help is friend just because he knows about Queen plan as pretty awesome to finish the rangers i really liked when Bansheera takes the rangers and Diabolico and Loki to is own dimension as cool and in another place Carter as battle Olympios he is alive and survive the last battle aganst the rangers, Loki battles the rangers and as defeated and Queen makes Diabolico fires aganst is own friend and he dies in is own hands and Diabolico promess to vengence of Bansheera and she uses the Diabolico powers to destroy the rangers but Carter comes and Diabolico gice a ansrwer to Carter who he can defeated Bansheera, Carter battles Bansheera and save is friends as pretty cool see the Skull Cavern blow up, rangers battle Bansheera with LightSpeed Megazord as cool and she gone and we see Olympios will make the rangers pay for be destroy is mother but she is alive very alive, the final scene as awesome we see Diabolico swears vengence about the queen betrayal is own people and xpecial is buddy Loki as awesome
Rise of the Super demons - Awesome episode for sure the start with the rangers work in the new project of the new Megazord, Lifeforce Megazord, the scene in the florest between Diabolico and Olympios as awesome Diabolico as there alone and the next moment appears Olympios and says is not any problem to sacrifice him too like is mother did to Loki and Vypra, the battle between Diabolico and Olympios as epic, the best of all battles they have they use powers between them and we see Olympios and Diabolico are really much rivals between them and we see there powers are almost the some but Olympios defeated Diabolico and take him to the Skull Cavern and Bansheera take the powers of Diabolico and Diabolico becames like a zombie to Olympios who plan to use is powers to destroy the rangers use and for all, the battle between the rangers and Diabolico and Olympios are pretty amazing i have to say this too Demons together have a huge power eve nthe rangers dont even can handle such huge power of them, i really liked when Carter make Diabolico remenber and Diabolico begins to battles Olympios even Carter believes what wee sees, there mortal enemie now fights in there side, i liked when Diabolico try to gives the Golden key to Carter and Olympios destroy Diabolico, i really liked the combination of the all weapons of the rangers with Carter Battlyzer to destroy Olympios as pretty cool and Bansheera make Diabolico and Olympios in they true demons form in super demons are really amazing there true forms Diabolico and Olympios are awesome the battle between the rangers with the all Megazords as cool all Megazords as fallen and in really damage and the rangers use there last new weapon the Lifeforce Megazord to destroy Diabolico and Olympios and them destroy them and we see the Golden Key goes to Demon tomb and we see in Skull Caver final scene Bansheera know Jinxer put the last card of Batlyngs in the lg of the Megazord and the rangers will be a great suprise in the Aquabase
The Fate of LightSpeed I e II
That as Epic the starts in the Demon tomb with Ryan with the Golden Key and find out the Queens plan to conquer the planet, Ryan is kipnet but the Queen, Bansheera gives Jinxer order to wake up the soldiers to invade the aquabase and destroy her, Carter goes to save Ryan in the Skull Cavern, and the others rangers battle the batlings in the base and see the batlyng control the Lifeforce Megazord and they attack the base use them. the rangers battle the soldiers in all fronts inside of the base and the Megazord destroy one of the complexs of the base, Mitchell is frozen in despair. Ms. Fairweather assumes command and orders an evacuation,The Rangers complete the evacuation of everyone in the base. However, they cannot find the Captain,They double back to rescue ops and find the Captain, still frozen. The Megazord attack traps them inside.
Carter makes it to the Skull Cavern. He finds Ryan and unshackles him,When Bansheera finds them, the two morph and fight the Batlings, The Omega Megazord, still under repairby a Lightspeed crew, is hijacked by Jinxer and the Batlings, Jiixer uses the Megazord to place gigantic stones in a circle throughout Mariner Bay, Ryan and Carter are defeated, and forcibly ejected from the Skull Cavern and As the trapped Rangers figure out what to do, water from the ocean seeps in.
As the team tries to find a way out, Ms. Fairweather surprises Joel by accepting to go out on a date with him, They find a shaftway which leads to the submarine, but unfortunately, it is filled with water, With the stones nearly in place, Queen Bansheera brings the Skull Cavern to Mariner Bay, The Rangers grabs some air cans and go diving through the shaftway towards the submarine bay,
They make it into the submarine, but Batling attacks prevent them from launching it. They launch a couple of torpedoes to fill the bay with water, which jogs them loose. Then they launch more torpedoes at the Lifeforce Megazord.
The sub makes it out in time, as the Lifeforce Megazord and Aquabase explode behind them, Carter and Ryan have arrived at the city, and try to take out the Omega Megazord, Their firepower is not enough, so they bail out and launch the Mobile Armor Vehicle at the Megazord.
The attack creates a magnificent explosion, and the Omega Megazord is destroyed, The stones have already been placed, and the ceremony begins, The Rangers all reunite and storm the Skull Cavern, As the Rangers fight Batlings, the Queen begins to open the tomb, Carter rushes towards the Queen. She blastshis helmet off, but he rushes again, and kicks her into the tomb.,The Queen pulls Carter in, and she hangs onto him as he hangsonto a ledge. He urges his friends to close the lid tothe tomb, From the depths of the shadow world, the spirit of Diabolico appears in front of the Queen. Instead of helping her, he blasts her into the shadow world.
The Rangers pull Carter out and close the lid. They make it out in time to see the Skull Cavern crumble.
Sometime later, the Rangers all meet at the park to give up their morphers and resume normal lives.
Ms. Fairweather shows up in a hot set of wheels to pick up Joel for their date.
When a firetruck races by, the Rangers can't help but take off to the rescue.

The Rangers and Diabolico Prime seeming to join forces, only for Queen Bansheera to control him and Olympius in order to turn them into Super Demons, Vypra getting destroyed in order to have the Queen obtain the bodily form, the attack of the Aquabase and the usage of that submarine that we saw from the very first episode, and the final battle.
Oh, and "Close the lid!" Can't forget about that.

well maybe they bringer because she is the first of the main demons to be destroyed, like happen in LG the Psycho pink as survive but in PRIS as the first Psycho ranger to be destroyed by the rangers, but that not happen in the case of Trakeena because she in the last battle aganst the LG rangers but we she her gone

Diabolico had made arrangements with Loki and Vypra after his resurrection to consecrate ground with their energy as a lobster trap for their souls in the event Olympius tried to knock them off to curry favor with his mother, still self-delusional enough not to realize Bansheera was their real enemy. Upon absorption of her soul, Bansheera in actuality took in Vypra's power and her spirit was transferred into the grave awaiting the correct circumstances for resurrection.
A time-locked spell, set to go off a year later after accumulating the right amount of ambient psychic energies, just in case there was no one left to resurrect her (as Diabolico's resurrection required his friends). If it had been done "properly," she'd have resurrected in her normal demonic form. Instead she reanimated in a semi zombified state due to the circumstances of both her death and her resurrection. Hence the requirement of Ransik's assistance to capture the Solar Amulet. She was JUST BARELY THERE.
Huhhh. I wonder where Loki went off to upon his resurrection, then.

It is an underrated series--yes, people are entitled to their opinions, but I felt that the series is getting a lot more love over the years.
And yes, I do realize that one of the major criticisms over the show is because of bad acting, but with the exception of Jennifer Yen, all the actors are really good.
The plots were written very well, most of the episodes were top-notch, and all the characters proved to be interesting. So overall, a really good series, and very underrated.
But one final thought: on the TvTropes entry for the series, it is said that it is a homage to the old British television series "Thunderbirds". I was like, "Huh."

I have only seen the recent live-action movie. Plus, I'm American, and the actual "Thunderbirds" show came out way before my time.
And the "huh" is equivalent to "that's rather interesting, I haven't thought of it that way".

Because unless GoGoV is also a homage to it, PRLR isn't. And the same homage claims could be said of the Tomica Hero Rescue series.

A little bit of irony: in the summer of 1994, Fox Kids aired Thunderbirds on Saturday mornings. These were the 60s shows, reeedited and re-dubbed with American voice actors and modern music. Yes, they basically Reversioned a classic show on the heels of MMPR making it big!

PRLSR as awesome series and make awesome new changes with a new team who as created by the militares and the identies of the rangers are public and the concept as awesome the villans are not Space aliens but Demons which are prison in the ancient tomb in Egypt, the Megazords, the rangers, the cast everthing in LSR as pretty amazing and as cool storyline and many kind of new allies to the rangers because in LSR we have the demons, the people of the underwater the mermaid and is father, demons and the humans who makes a the good storyline see as a connection between Captain Mitchell and is past with Diabolico and Ryan past as pretty awesome, and the final of LSR as awesome see the rangers have to made to stop the villans even destroyed is own Megazords or by destroyed by the demons
The plot between the demons are awesome Diabolico and Olympios hatred between are awesome see the even of the Villans are many sides, the side of Diabolico,Loki and Vypra, Olympios and Jinxer in another and Queen Bansheera in is own side but all of them bow to Queen Bansheera, because as awesome but all of them are in the side of the Bansheera but she sacrifice of all them

Sounds like Turbocharged Thunderbirds, which was on the Western Animation section of the TvTropes' So Bad It's Horrible page, if I remember correctly. Aside from those points...well, this little snippet speaks for itself.
Thirteen of the original Thunderbirds episodes were hacked into a half-hour format (with space opened for commercials), re-titled, and dubbed over with new voices. The Tracy family fought supervillains, and the action took place on "Thunderworld". Oh, and the Tracy family took orders from a pair of live-action teenagers who lived on the inside of Thunderbird 5 (or something, they didn't explain it well) and called Jeff Tracy "Mr. T". Worst of all, the dialogue was completely edited out and replaced with "ironic post-modern" jokes. Creator Gerry Anderson was so furious when he found out what had been done to his creation that FOX pulled it immediately... and thank God for that.

It reminds me of how the creator (or someone else who's a worker) of Kamen Rider reacted to Masked Rider. He got upset over what happened to his show, and the station pulled the plug.
Lesson of the day: such things happen. Unfortunately, FOX had it happen twice.

Except that's the unfounded, BS misconception. Stupid, conceited fanboys think a show getting canceled automatically means the creator stepped in and pulled it. Masked Rider wasn't canned because of anything to do with ****oyama or whoever the hell else. Ratings weren't good, they were running out of footage, TJ Roberts wasn't renewing his contract anyway, and VR Troopers had ended, so they moved the remaining new episodes to first run syndication. And Thunderbirds? That's another myth. If Anderson had the show pulled, it sure took him long enough to do so, and didn't do a thing to keep the redone versions getting VHS releases well after it finished running on Fox (and long after they'd aired all of the episodes they had).
Anyone stupid enough to think creators of these shows have the power to pull them on a whim, must also realize to still hold that kind of power over the property, they knew what the hell they were getting into in the first place.

I guess it's the strongest word JK Rowling and Warner Bros could get away with in a children's book and film.
Thanks SirStack, I'd heard that about Masked Rider being canned because of the creator, but since it would've been dropped anyway due to footage exhaustion, I'm glad to see that myth dispelled.

Went back to watch "Trekena's Revenge" and I have a few things to note:
-Heather's mom is a straight up cougar! Did you see how young her husband/Heather's dad was?
-Was I the only one who wanted to smack the old lady working at the front desk of Heather's dad's office building? "There's no such things as monsters." Don't the Power Rangers protect your town from monsters?! Excuse me, they're called demon's this season. I know PR and logic don't go hand and hand but DAMN was there a hole there!
-Heather and her red ball owning the gouls and that creepy dude with the glasses was hilarious.

Two more quick notes,
-How crappy was Leo's voice overs? Why didn't they just go back and use old ADR for him?
-We got even more confusion as to where exactly Mironoi is located. In "Escape the Lost Galaxy", we saw Terra Venture go through the portal and go back to their previous galaxy but in T'sR part 1, we go to Mironoi through a portal just like in the first episode of LG. Anyone got a theroy or reasoning?
If any of these questions were already been answered, just direct me to a page because I didn't keep tabs with this thread seeing as I only watched "Trekena's Revenge".

Most of his lines weren't things that could be found in prior episodes. Plus timing issues.

Mirinoi was located in the Lost Galaxy in the first two episodes, but somehow slipped out before the finale. Due to both the original portal to the LG being near Earth, and the Deviot-made one being near Mirinoi's new location, a bridge between the wormholes was made bypassing the LG. Something like that.
