TVShows on DVD: RPM Volumes 3 and 4 "On Hold"

TVShowsonDVD.com has a new article about Power Rangers RPM Volumes 3 and 4 DVD releases (http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Power-Rangers-RPM-Volumes-3-and-4/13424), or more accurately, the absence of their releases. According to them, the official word from Disney is that those releases are "on hold" meaning it could be released later on, or be canceled altogether.

Before some of you likely go into a rant about how "Disney doesn't care about PR" because of this news, I'd like to remind you that these episodes were about the time that RPM really began to sink in the ratings among one of the show's target audience of Kids 6-11. A DVD release for episodes that received ratings and shares of 0.1/1 may very mean Disney would lose money - they would produce more copies of a DVD release than they would generate from actual sales of it. RPM ratings started off fine, usually in the 0.8 range in the spring, so it was a steep ratings decline. Additionally, RPM doesn't have the name recognition that Mighty Morphin does, even if Disney chose to release the reversioned episodes on DVD instead of the 1993 version. John Tellegen once mentioned that the continuation of PR could very well be tied to a spreadsheet on someone's desk, and it's the same scenario here - a spreadsheet could very well mean we won't be seeing RPM DVDs volumes 3 and 4.

i wonder if there will ever b a PR RPM Volume 5 bcause i have the 1rst 2 volumes and the free Promo DVD and i am wanting 2 have PR RPM Volumes 3 and 4 DVD'S. Any1 have the PR Boxsets that came from Germany by the way because if they do i want them 4 free.

Actually our release looks dismal, we have no sign of vol 3 at all and 1 and 2 are being released in the same box .. not really a good sign.

Noone knows for sure. Especially me. I'm pretty sure the US won't get the remaining volumes. If we did, it would've happened before the airing of remastered MMPR.

No 1 call Buena Vista Home Entertainment. i actually got an e-mail from them telling me that they don't have a release date on PRRPM Volumes 3 and 4 yet. i just wish they would hurry up with the DVD's.

I think it's about time a fan was put in charge of the Power Rangers merchandise. At least they would treate the show with love and respect.

I really dont think even the Uk will get these releases, the best we can do is wait till the end of the month, our 1 and 2 are being released together with a worrying complete used in the listing.

I've posted this earlier this year and no one took much notice, it is worryingly late for amazon uk to not have listings for the rest of the series, obviously Disney XD and its marvellous midnight showings slaughtered our chances for dvds too.
