Known Information:


Saban has made a new deal with Namco Bandai and Bandai America, for the toys as usual and new video games from Namco.
700 old episodes (original, non-reversioned MMPR to RPM) will air on Nicktoons starting in October (http://tweetphoto.com/34949174).
The season will adapt Samurai Sentai Shinkenger, and will contain 40 episodes.
Filming will take place in New Zealand, but with American actors.
Jonathan Tzachor will be in charge of the new 18th season. Tzachor was in charge of Power Rangers from MMPR to Wild Force.
And Saban is making deals for a movie. Nothing else has been announced. Most likely it will through Paramount Pictures, which Nickelodeon is allied with. Nickelodeon has been developing a new film division, with Ninja Turtles being one of the productions.
The Power Rangers will leave Disney World on August 7, 2010 according to a castmember at Intercot boards and Daily Disney blog.
PR will presumably leave ABC Kids Labor Day Weekend when MMPRv2 finishes. According to Digifiend, PR has already left Disney XD UK.
MarVista Entertainment (http://marvista.net) will handle international distribution of PR.
Tony Oliver will return to work on the season as well.

To confirm even more what they said, here is what my source gave me yesterday:

A producer from New Zealand (I assume it might be the Executive Producer, Jonathon Tzachor) is in LA, and will be there for the next set of callbacks (which is confirmed to be final callbacks). After they decide who may go further, they'll do screen tests and what not, and see which people look and work good together. It is said that Iris has a wall full of possible cast members (which is totally natural for most cast directors to do).

As for right now, it looks like only a few of the Power Rangers are being called in so far, so girls (including Princess Megan) and other cast members will probably be the following week. In other words, we're coming to an end.


I was also contacted by an auditioner, and he was called back for final callbacks for Red, and another was called back for Green. And finally, someone I kind of know said that they know a couple of girls who got called back for Princess Megan and Pink, and one of them apparently showed sword presentation for the Megan role, and was blown away! So, that's where things are as of right now.

Can i just say i'm very pleased that so far the Pink Ranger's name is "Sadie"?! That name has definitely become a huge favorite female name for me, especially in recent times. Even went to the experts to find out the name meaning and all. I really hope the name makes it all the way to production time, since last time we could've had a "Kayla" but instead we got a "Summer". I don't think he was ever referred to as Wesley other than maybe a couple times by his father. A repeat name would not only be dumb, but cause tons of confusing online. We'd have to label them as TF Wes and Other Wes. If they're gonna' keep the Wesley name, he had best stay as Wesley and not become commonly Wes.

I think it's dumb to never use any form of a name because it was already used. Like you said Wesley is not Wes... I think saying "Never use Thomas because that's what Tommy is short for" is dumb. As long as they don't use a repeat name that is the EXACT same, But I think William could be a rangers name because Nobody Called billy William just like no one called Tommy Thomas. But I agree with not repeating the same exact first name.

Would you like me to go through and explain to you all of the mistakes on that page? I'll start: total episodes of MMPR is 155, not 145. Alien Rangers is not its own little series, every single episode of the MMAR saga had a "today on" segment which used the MMPR logo and called the show MMPR. When Fox Kids aired the show, they never once changed the name of the show on their line-up. Even the promos failed to change the name from MMPR to MMAR. Not to mention, the first two parts of MMAR don't even have the MMAR logo on it. Even if you didn't count MMAR as part of MMPR, which it is (Fox Kids called "Hogday Afternoon, Part II" the "last Mighty Morphin Power Rangers episode ever"), it'd be 147 episodes.

This is the most pissing. Ed Neil is NOT EDWIN NEAL. Edwin Neal is in his 60s, appeared in the original 1970s Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie, and never did a goddamn thing afterwards. Yet some douche decided "DURP! LORD ZEDD EVIL! GUY WHO PLAY HIM MUST HAVE BEEN IN HORROR MOVIE! DURRRRP!" For cripes sake, Ed Neil appears out of suit repeatedly in PR. He's Jasper in LG, he demorphs as human Zedd in CTD. Look up a picture of Edwin Neal. He looks about as much like Ed as Mr Kaplan looks like Tommy. But do these idiots fix it? No, they don't, because they're a bunch of mouth-breathing dung-plungers.

As for mistakes, aside from "Edwin Neal", the dopes claim he was credited as "Ed Neal". No, he wasn't credited period for Zedd. Also, Ninjor's voice, Kim Strauss was credited in every season 3 ep as "Kurt Strauss". Who the hell put "Mr Strauss" on there as what he was credited as? Find me a single credit screen with that name on it and I'll find you a liar with photoshop. Similarly, Bob Papenbrook was credited as "Bob Pappenbrook". If they give a crap so much about credits, you'd think they'd bother getting that part right. Let's see how long it is before my corrections get reverted!
I fixed it. Let's see how long it'll last. (I only fixed Papenbrook and Neil, I would have had to list ten more eps than they listed to fix the ep number.)

Probably an exercise in futility but I had free time. When was Kerrigan Mahan credited as Ryan O'Flanagan and when was he Kerrigan Mahan? Because I know he was both. Must've been reverted, because I just made the same changes and more.

It was part of a Fox Kids special in May of 1999. Saying "original pilot episode" could be confusing, especially since we've considered the August 28, 1993, DotD, as not the "original pilot episode" but rather, the second or third version of the pilot for MMPR.

Well I've never had a PR dvd from Nick before. That would be a first. I mostly have PR dvds that were from Disney. I am so glad that season 18 is adapted from Shinkenger. I've been watching shinkenger episodes. My favorite was the one where the gedoshu or whatever they're called switched people's bodies withn inanimate objects. It was funny when Takeru got switched with a cat statue. I wonder if some of the episodes will be the same as the american versions. I mean PR episodes throughout the 17 years has similarities to the japanese version of them, example- sentai scenes.

You mis understand me. The new season is OBVIOUSLY going to air. I'm saying it won't be fully put out on DVD unless the individual volumes sell well.

And why should you buy those volumes? To support legitimate releases. Everyone in this fandom keeps crying out for DVD boxsets, but very few of them have bought the DVD's. The companies release smaller volumes to keep costs down, so parents of children can afford them.

I would be more like 4 or 5 episodes, but that's still not a lot in a 40 episode series - it would take 8-10 volumes to complete the set. That's why some of the last few seasons were incomplete. Overdrive only got released in full because they put six or seven episodes on each disc, allowing the 32 episodes to be done in five discs.

No, adults prefer to buy box sets, kids don't care. So if kids don't care, than why should Saban? Kids see the DVDs, they beg their parents to buy them, and Parents buy them to get their kid to stop bugging them. So it doesn't matter how many episodes are on the DVDs, and they know that 25 dollars for 5 episodes means more money in their pocket than they would get for box sets.

Plus parents are not likely to spend a lot of money on one box set, so that(along with the lower price to get the whole season) means that the amount of money that the box sets will bring in is less than the volumes. The only people that are even put off by the volumes is fans like us, who aren't in their marketing plans anyway, and wouldn't have much of an effect on the money DVDs will bring in.

Maybe if the DVD volumes sell well, they will start making out box sets, but the volumes are probably not going anywhere for a long time. But if these volumes don't sell well, than they would have no reason to make box sets, so we will never get them. It all comes down to money, and now that we aren't dealing with Disney's money anymore, the amount of money Power Rangers brings in is much more important.

Income was always important. There's a reason why RPM never got a full release, and that reason isn't the buyout. They weren't selling enough. At least Saban seems to be doing some decent work on the marketing side, unlike Disney. Plus the new season will get more exposure on Nick than PR ever got on ABC Kids.

And Rider Jetfire, that's probably starting to change now. Fans from 17 years ago are old enough to be parents now.

I think that is what is being overlooked here, parents don't want to buy things that cost a lot of money. They would rather spend 100 dollars over time on 5 DVDs, than spend around 60 dollars on a season box set.

Plus if they are going through a store with a kid, they are more likely to pick up a random 20 dollar DVD with 5 episodes, than they are to buy a 60 dollar season box set.

The volumes will never go away because of that, but with good sales, season box sets might be possible.

Uhmm they were clearly not picky about whether or the clips were sentai or not as long as it was action. I`m surprised they were able to retrieve those clips of the MMPR 90s craze with the items, toys, food, and vhs tapes including those shots with the News Reports about it.

I have a PRIS backpack, I'm wearing a Pr super legends shirt, and the k-mart power ranger pj bottoms....and i have a MMPR pillow case and sheets...but I do not remember the soap bars lol I mean I think i vegly do...because if it was power rangers I had it...but I think mine was the white ranger, colored either green or white and it came to a point at the bottom

I had a batmobile soap on a roap if that helps any lol

Also had time force sheets and MMPR curtians and window clings...I'll edit this if i thinik of anymore

Iris is very concerned about getting the right people for the guy roles, as well as the Pink, Yellow, and Megan. For the girls, if they can't find the right ones here...they'll be doing auditions in NZ as well as Australia now. One of the casting agents I've been in contact with said they have a girl going in today for Pink (her FIRST time); but apparently the only reason they wanna see her is because of her fencing, stage combat, and martial arts experience.

For anyone who remember me posting about Lissa Lauria, I found out yesterday that she is now in the running for Princess Megan; but before they go on for Megan roles...they want to get the guys out of the way. I've been told that Princess Megan won't appear in the show until a few episodes in, so that role isn't really a necessity as of right now. But Megan callbacks are this week, so we'll shall see where this goes.

I'd rather have more realistic fight scenes and have the actors do what the can like in the first 6 seasons then have the characters know how to do all those insane flips and stuff. There is something about the real actors doing their best in their own stunts that is just so appealing. Of course there is the risk of injury though which of course isn't so nice.

He bought it to make money. What he's trying to get at is that all companies like to promote their stuff by saying "We're looking into movies and coloring books and theme park rides and all sorts of stuff!" so that other companies will think highly of them and consider investing. That Saban is thinking about making a movie doesn't mean that we'll actually get one, just that it's something they'd like to do.

As for BluRay, the big problem is that PR wasn't filmed in a way that it can be cleaned up and made HD. If you tried, the end result would look really bad. There will likely be BluRay releases of the new series, but that's about it.

Well I actually agree on this. I have absolutely nothing against New Zealand, or British, or Australian actors/actresses trying to cover the roles. But for me, I can easily spot bad American accents and it sort of irks me. Maybe its because I've watched a lot of Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot films where they have American characters sprinkled in a few of the tales. There was one actor who played an outlaw in hiding who had a lot of money from killing a wealthy girl in America that had a terrible American accent. Too much twang.

Final callbacks are tomorrow, and one of the casting agents I know has a girl going in for Yellow and she might have a chance at booking it!

The Princess and other roles will all be decided next week and possibly into the week after. I've been told that the writers, while they're working on the story 24/7, are constantly changing things to make the story flow. Princess Megan is said to have a very big role once she's introduced, and will be working "hand in hand" with Reese (Red Ranger) to fight evil. Unlike Kaoru, who never fought alongside ShinkenRed (Takeru).

As some have speculated, Princess Megan WILL be used as a mentor to the other Rangers...but things can always change. As of right now, that's what it looks like the writers are aiming for.
