What did you think of the season premiere?

The season premiere was ok.. I liked how Nick was the only one that didn't get their powers in the fight against the Hidiacs was it? Eh I don't remember.

It was different to say the least... I liked how it opened. It was also the first time I wasn't immediately drawn to any of the rangers

They kind of did a poor job of hiding Necrolai's suit actress' neck...

The season premiere was fairly decent. The introduction with the Great Battle was a nice yet simple way to start it off. The scenes that introduced the chosen teenagers to the forest and the Mystic Powers was good. I actually hoped for Xander on becoming the leader until we see more of Nick's development in the second episode. These two episodes had a couple of my favorite scenes from this season, including Nick's first morph as the Red Ranger.

This certainly felt different from the get-go. They even used yellow credits and episode titles instead of the usual white. A small thing, but just the first of many differences. It certainly couldn't have been more different to its predecessor SPD.

the whole magic thing was kind of not handled well in general in my opinion... magic as the source of powers--thats more logical that past seasons... what i meant was that how did i buy into the harry potter ripoff-ness of the season in general...

So i definately just noticed that all the seasons were moved nice idea FD or who ever did it lol. I thought the season opening was pretty good. I thought it was funny/interesting thaty they had to beleive in magic to get their elemental powers to activate. Of course the red ranger is stubborn and wont cooperate. The theme song isn't that bad. I know many fans dont like it because it goes against what the songs normally are in PR.

The season premiere was great. A very nice way to open a season. The MF premiere was probably the best played MF episode. I also liked the believe in the magic thing. It was different and it gave a new perspective to the show, at least for me.

The theme song was great and yet something different again, which gave a nice refreshment to the show.

I agree with Rider Siren. The season was built up to be a great season indeed, but as it went towards the end, it was rushed. I wish we could see more of the Tribunal of Magic, the Mystic Mother, Catastros and Brightstar.

Mystic Force could have so much more of its storyline and character development. If Disney wouldn't decide to shorten the episode count per season to 32, this season would be so much better.

Anyway, PRMF was a good season overall.

I don't think the cast gave off a good vibe/chemistry. It's like the casting director just chose random faces, put them together, and called it a day. None of them were really in sync in my opinion, but I did have a few favorites:

Xander - He was probably the most realistic character on the show. He had the cool appeal, charm, sophisticated at times, and probably one of the better actors on the show (male-wise).

Udonna - As a mentor, I loved Udonna! She had wisdom, love for the team, knowledge and understanding of the situation they were brought into, and just a great character all around. I wasn't crazy about her being a Ranger, but the suit was nice. :p

Madison - A lot of people didn't like Madison (mostly due to her underdeveloped character), but what we did get of her I liked a lot! She had such an innocence to her, and was probably the best fighter on the team in my opinion. I wish they could have done more with her character, as well as the relationship that was clearly there between her and Nick. That alone would have made my interest in MF higher than it was. Oh, and the performance she gave in the last episode was AMAZING! Too bad it was ruined by Octomus and some random explosion.

Nich: HE was ok he needed less episodes as people call it nich force. He was a decent red ranger.

Vida: She would be a perfect yellow ranger i love her fiesty personality and how she doesnt take any bull crap but she is very loving and caring and will stand up to what is right.

MAdison: Definately my favorite character. She is gorgeous and like someone else said needed more development since she didnt have much influence. She and tori from NS IMO would get along pretty good.

CHip This guy cracked me up with his fan boyness lol. He had a lot of personality and i wouldnt change him at all.

Xander This dudeis myh guy favorite for MF. Plan xander is amazing that and never works lol.

Phineas i enjoyed a lot to he helped the rangers but at the smae time annoyed the living crap out of them

John Does make a good 6th, i hope he isn't forgotten by Saban, Disney did have some good casts and reoccuring characters.

This is among my favorite Disney seasons. Here's how I feel about each aspect:

Theme: I like stories about magic and wizards, so interesting choice of theme.

Theme song: The best they could have gone with, in my opinion, of the three candidates. Ron Wasserman's tunes were fine, but they would not have complimented the show's theme like "Here Come The Power Rangers" did. I was a bit peeved as well upon hearing "Technology will show them all the way" in RAW's rock theme.

Rangers:
Nick: Pretty good Ranger. I did enjoy his transformation from nonbeliever to Red Ranger. Though this season should have been named Nick Russel and his Wizard Friends given the amount of time the series focuses on him. Overall, he's a decent character.

Xander: A very enjoyable and memorable Ranger given his personality. It was nice to see that he couldn't talk his way out of everything and that he could evolve from laid back to hero while still maintaining his charisma. Although I thought the episode Inner Strength was idiotic, it was nice to see Xander find his self-confidence. I'm glad he was selected to return for Once A Ranger.

Chip: I love this guy. Though his obsession with capes was a bit childish, the character really grew on me. The two scenes that really highlighted his character development were during Stranger Within, when he confronted Koragg on his own, and in Soul Specter, when he displayed genuine concern for the civilians drained of their souls and when he struggled to climb the mountain with Daggeron.

Madison: There could have been a lot of good scenes featuring this Ranger, but instead she was always at the back of the bus. I thought that was kinda disappointing, especially considering her ultimate change in character as she calls out Nick on his cowardice during Mystic Fate. Overall, I really like Madison.

Vida: Definitely a twist on the common Pink Ranger, who would always be perky or happy all the time. In a sense, she and Jen from Time Force are the only two Pink Rangers to initially come off as serious in their endeavors, and that's what I like about Vida. Though she does differ from Jen in that her softer side emerges more often, particularly around Chip and Madison. I also admire her putting herself at risk to save Matoombo during The Return.

Udonna: One of my favorites this season. She made for a great mentor, though I was quite disappointed that she had been separated from her White Ranger powers for nearly the entire season. My estimate would be about 27 episodes out of 32, and that is a lot of screen time as the White Ranger flushed down the drain. Though the moment when Leelee, Phineas, and Claire saved her and reunited her with the Ranger power was brilliantly composed and definitely brought me out of my initial disappointment. It saddens me that the late Peta Rutter (R.I.P.) cannot reprise her character but Udonna will continue to live on. I think the best bet for a return of the White Ranger would be that Udonna's powers are passed on to Claire.

Daggeron: Getting John Tui to return for a future installment? Awesome. The character he portrays in said installment? ...Not too good, in my opinion. For one, I quite dislike the name "Solaris Knight." Two, he's not as good a mentor as Udonna. I particularly disliked him in Inner Strength when he just dumped the Rangers off at Shalifar and took away their powers without so much as a second thought. Did he ever consider what would happen to the Rangers if they couldn't find the train ticket, or if they had been eaten by the giant or suffered a similar fate? He would have left the human world virtually defenseless just for the sake of trying to teach Xander a lesson. Yeah, not the best of sixth teammates in my book (Seventh if you count Udonna).

Leanbow: Good character, terrible timing for the assumption of his powers. Admittedly, it was better than Nova Ranger's appearance. I enjoyed seeing him break free of his darkness to save Udonna during Heir Apparent.

What did you think of the cast?

Nick - Nick is the new kid in town who originally comes to Briarwood to live with his sister. He spends most of his time riding and working on his motorcycle. While being the first to speak up about helping an old man and getting the others to follow him, he was the last to embrace magic and become a Power Ranger. As Nick shows leadership by stepping up to help the old man, Udonna knows that he is the one who's meant to lead the team as the Red Ranger. With his mystic power, he has control over fire which gives him moves of fury. Nick had a unique mental connection with Koragg, Koragg was able to talk to the ranger inside his head and eventually Nick was able to do visa versa.

Xander - has a winning smile and is usually able to charm his way into getting others to do what he wants, referred to Nick as 'Mr. Personality'. He likes to spend his freetime skateboarding and when he's not doing that he's usually lounging around the Rock Porium. He moved to the states years ago from Australia, he didn't initially gain friends, he last picked at games and teased for his accent. Eventually befriended Madison, Chip, and Vida. Quick witted and a natural born leader, Udonna chooses Xander as the Green Ranger.

Madison is the introverted and unvarying one of the group. She almost always has her camera with her as she expresses herself best through her films. Although Madison comes off as shy, she was the one to confront Nick to try to convince him to stay in Briarwood and be a ranger. She has a real heart for her friends which qualifies her as the perfect choice to be the Blue Ranger. While being the sensible sibling, she looks up to her sister Vida who is more of the party girl.

Chip is a good friend and has a sharp wit. He had been friends with Rocca sisters since childhood. He has dreams of saving the world with little realization of what lies ahead and was more than thrilled to become a Mystic Force Power Ranger. His mystic power gives him the ability to use light to create jolts of lightning. He has a thorough knowledge of the supernatural and paranormal.

Vida is a tough as nails, no nonsense kind of girl with a chip on her shoulder. She believes actions speak louder than words and is more inclined to knock down a door than open it. She is often seen DJing at the Rock Porium. Vida may have a tough personality but she has a big heart and always there forHER FRIENDS and sister. Vida is chosen to be the Pink Ranger even though she not particularly fond of the color.

Daggeron is an accomplished knight who faught in the great battle against evil as the legendary Solaris Knight. He was given charge to take baby Bowen to safety but was interrupted by Calindor. During a battle with Calindor, he was cursed and turned into a frog. The curse is broken after he saves Madison and recieves a kiss from her. Daggeron is recruited by Udonna to train the other Rangers. Although his methods may sometimes seem harsh, he pushes the Rangers to become their best. He was trained by Udonna's husband - Leanbow.

Udonna is a powerfull sorceress who trains the Power Rangers in the art of magic and is their guide to unlocking the secrets of the Xenotome. She is an inhabitant of the magical dimension and was around during the great battle years ago where she lost her husband and son. As an accomplished sorceress, Udonna is the White Ranger. Her mystic power gives her the control over snow and allows her to freeze evil in their tracks.

Leanbow When the underworld attack, the Mytsic Wizards fought them but they were overwhelmed by Morticon and his horde. Leanbow met with Daggeron and Niella laying out a plan and were joined by the potentially treacherous Calindor went to fight evil, Udonna entrusted Bowen to Daggeron. Leanbow led the battle in fighting in the Underworld. He went into the gates to keep the evil forces at bay and instructed Niella to seal the gates which ultimately led to her demise. He continued the battle alone, had gotten to the Master and was almost effective in banishing him to the depths. Unfortunately, Lianbow was transformed into Koragg with The Master's last once of power.

Gotta agree there Thrax, i'm watching MF now and it's kinda funny that in the first half dosen episodes Vida (and chip to a extent) don't even wear their ranger colors when civilians, and Vida's hair is white, but around oh 6 she changes her clothes and hair streak to a almost inperceptable light, light, light pink

For the season as a whole.... It felt like a whole lot of wasted potential for me. They set up these characters that COULD be interesting, but nothing really develops for them. Even Nick, who gets the most focus doesn't really develop as a character. Things happen TO HIM, but he doesn't really develop. Madison was terribly under used as well. They hinted at the Nick/Madison stuff early on, and didn't bother bringing it back up until the finale.

As for the plot... Lets just call it Magiranger lite.

The Master - He is the main villan of PRMF, we start to see him inside middle of the Cave of the Underworld and him give orders to is minions to conquer the surface world, i liked the way of him use all is survants to destroy everthing, The way of him use is power to corrupt the most powerfull wizard and make him is loyal warrior Koragg as cool, because with Koragg he use is power to destroy the others, the power of The Master is really amazing in my opinion in awesome villan to be the head villans of the MF.

Koragg he is the thrust warrior of the Master, and he is own goals with as serve the Master, because Koragg dont join forces with the others villans of the MF, Koragg fights a few times with Morticon and have some problems with Imperious with want take him from the way and destroy him, i liked of the ideia of the Koragg have honor, because he dont destroy a enemie with as down, and have the connection with Red ranger, they fights many times, and is zord as amazing Catastros when he combines with him and form Centaurus Wolf Megazord. and see Koragg help the rangers in some moments, because he wants destroy the rangers when the are in full potetion.

Morticon I liked a lot of him, he is the first leader of the Underworld and as under the orders of the Master, but dont have much power to live the pit, and i liked some battle of have with Koragg because Morticon wants live the Pit and take over the surface world, i liked when him battle the rangers for the first time but as cast out for underworld with Nick power and returns again to battle the rangers in a final battle but as destroyed in the process.

Imperious he comes when Morticon as destroyed and take is place as general of the Master, Imperious, i liked is plans and he wants to take over of the ruler of the Underworld and destroy the Master, he is the personal rival of the Daggeron, in the past he fights along side the Mystics but betrayed the, he have a plan with erase the PR, and capture the rangers for them give there power for make the Master rise, and as destroyed for Daggeron.

Necrolai she is the Queen of the Vampires and have some plans to destroy the rangers and put the Pink ranger in is side and almost destroy the rangers, and finds the chamber of the Terrors and make everthing to please them.

LeeLee She a menor villan because she is just a victim in the middle of this.

Ten Terrors they are the most powerfull warriors of the Underworld and there are in the deeps of the Underworld.

Sculpin is the dark leader of the Ten Terrors. He is in charge of overseeing the that the laws of darkness are followed. His mission is ensure that the Master will rise again.

Black Lance is one of the most powerful Terrors. During the introduction cerimony to Briarwood, he singlehandedly takes down the Manticore Megazord in one blow. Black Lance was then sent to assist MegaHorn but he taken back into the underworld by good magic Koragg.

Itassis is a faithful follower of the rules of darkness and won't let anything get in the way of them being followed - even if that means helping them. She questioned the rangers on how it was possible they could defeat them.

Megahorn doesn't like the rules of darkness and is sick of waiting around. He was the first to violate them. He was defeated by the Daggeron but then became a giant and was joined by Black Lance.

Magma was the first Terror to be chosen by the Stone of Judgement. Underestimating the Rangers is what caused him to lose according to the rules of darkness and brought about his end.

Oculous is known as the cunning hunter. He has the ability to teleport using a rift between dimensions. His prime mission is to caputure the Light.

Serpentina also doesn't like the rules of darkness and gets Hekatoid to aid her cause when she finds out she'll be the next to fall prey to the rules of darkness. She captures four of the Rangers by turning into a snake and devouring them.

Hekatoid is recruited by Serpentina to take care of the Rangers. To do this, he must disobey the rules of darkness and uses a slime to prevent the Red and Pink Rangers from morphing. He later kidnapped Udonna when she and Clare were in search of Leanbow.

Gekkor explained to Necrolai the rules of darkness. Gekkor followed the Master's orders and he relentlessly followed and fought Matoombo to make sure he was the master's body.

Matoombo was chosen to unleash the Master's wrath, he was gathering the city's electricty to use it against them. He was meant to be the vessel for the master but his heart got in the way.


PRMF have awesome villan and they are very interesting.

Gotta agree there Thrax, i'm watching MF now and it's kinda funny that in the first half dosen episodes Vida (and chip to a extent) don't even wear their ranger colors when civilians, and Vida's hair is white, but around oh 6 she changes her clothes and hair streak to a almost inperceptable light, light, light pinkVida's hair streak varied in colour throughout the series, then in the finale she dyed the whole lot pink, finally embracing her colour. Since she didn't like pink, it makes sense that her wardrobe lacked the colour. As for Chip, maybe the wardrobe department couldn't find enough yellow clobber for him to wear.

The Master - A MAJOR letdown in my opinion. They had a grand opportunity to make him seem pretty much a bad***, but in the end they just didn't fully execute it right. No other words.

Koragg - One of the only reasons I watched Mystic Force. He had such a old school-ish vibe to him. In many ways, he was almost like a Lord Zedd meets Ransik. Yeah, I went there! :p

Morticon - Another letdown. All he really did was sit around most of the time, and I think they relied to heavily on the Sentai character. They should have made him his own identity, and set himself apart from the counterpart. He had the potential to be something great, but they ruined it. RUINED. IT.

Necrolai - If I could describe her in one word, it would have to be...annoying. Sure, she could fight and even had one of the Rangers in her possession...but her character all around was just annoying. Period.

Imperious- I kinda liked Imperious. I don't know why, but something about him just made him seem more of a "supreme master" more than Octomus (which was a really STUPID name by the way).

Ten Terrors - They were good while they lasted. Nothing more, nothing less.

It is a good concept, especially for those that aren't spoiled by upcoming episode names and summaries. The Part # are cool for defining the mini-series and acknowledging the fact that the episodes are related in a subplot. I like the concepts that primetime shows use where the stories rarely (if even) use the "Part #". This could vary based on the show and writing concepts.

Exxcept the entore Fogotten comment refers to them not just discarding the Disney Actors, John in particular, and thinking of using them in future shows. Like how disney had the same actor play Piggy and Phinius (I think), they have a great pool to tap for secondary characters, or even mainliners if they pull a Doggie and have them consumed up even Ranger form.

Their ratings weren't that low. The average ratings for Mystic Force and SPD was the same as Dino Thunder. The ratings were down from Wild Force and Ninja Storm(which I believe was up from Time Force and Lightspeed), but the 3 were still between a 0.93 and 0.99.

Actually, Dino Thunder had the lowest of the 3 ratings(with a 0.93).

MF much more develoment of the Ten terros and a Team up between MF and SPD.

OO develoment of the the arc of the last jewel and give a proper focus of the Flurious, Flurious final plot could be made in double episode part Crown and Punishement I and II

JF give a proper develoment of the Phantom Beasts arc because that arc could be use for a team up between JF and OO, The powers for Dai Shi and Camille are gived to late in the Season, and the final plot for the Final Battle scenario could be made in two part episode.

RPM Engine Shogun Megazord will be cool off course, a team up between RPM and JF,Battlyzer.

Extra episodes wouldn't have allowed for a Battlizer, that was a budgetary issue. The Megazord I mentioned is in the toyline, but was from a Go-onger mvoie and only appeared twice I think in the series, where it was called Engine Dai Shogun. Yeah, they would've had room to adapt Go-on vs Geki as well, but I don't think that would suit the RPM apocalypse plot.

I remember laughing during the scene where one of the Rangers (I think it was Vida) and Necrolai were fighting over the Fire Heart scroll, and they end up tearing it in half, coz the EXACT same thing happened in OO between Mack and Tyzonn.

Wait, I have that backwards, don't I? I laughed during OO's "Face to Face" coz it was what had happened in MF.

I enjoyed Fire Heart throughout the series (not the least the name; I've been known to refer to my wheelchair as Fire Heart!) but I did feel that having Fire Heart end up as Nick's Battlizer was a little underwhelming. I'd have preferred more Fire Heart scenes like the one we got in "Dark Wish II."

Catastros was interesting; I liked how he changed allegiances. But maybe Catastros could sense a family connection between Koragg and Nick?

As for Leelee, for some reason I keep thinking of Trakeena's whining to Villamax. "He wanted to turn me into a bug, and I wouldn't have it!!"

I did enjoy Daggeron's introduction (I was only just learning about Sentai at that point and didn't know about the frog) and liked how his story was so tied to Calindor's. And of course we know where their feud ended up. Very well-done story in my humble opinion.

It was a little awkward for me sometimes watching Blue's interaction with Solaris. They were married in Magiranger, yes?

Daggeron as cool as mentor of the rangers and tranning them to, he teach some go thing to Chip and Xander, and try always give to Nick new things.

Well when The rangers battle in Dark Wich III aganst Fightoe and 50 Below i think that is a few alliance with Daggeron and even Koragg help the rangers in recover there powers, i agreed the story of Calindor and Daggeron as really well made.

Imperious is the kind of villain I wanted to be destroyed. I like his back story, but that's about it for him. I just find him off-putting.

As I mentioned upthread, I really liked the Calindor/Daggeron backstory.

When I think of Imperious, my mind immediately says "Dark Wish." That was genius on Imperious's part. Too bad Imperious left a loophole in the wish though.

I also liked the touch, however unintentional, that once Imperious was destroyed he was NEVER mentioned again, neither by the villains nor the heroes. Goes to show that his overinflated ego got him nowhere in the end.

A better way of phrasing the wish might have been "I wish the Mystic Force Power Rangers had never been born," or something that left no room for doubt that Imperious wanted the teens gone forever.

I'm not too familiar with Necrolai on that level so i wouldn't know how to respond to that. While seeing Piggy again was a suprise, the cameo just always felt a bit forced to me on the spectrum that in here, we're dealing with magic and we see this character from a show where the technology age reigned supreme. They don't mix. As for Phineas, considering the level of friendship he and Nick developed throughout the show, i couldn't think of anyone more suited for that task.

the Dark Wish really should have been a entire mini arc because logically a lot would change. First off Imperious and Jenji would be back in the cave but i'll let that slide as "wish maker and Gennie immunity" but without the MF that means Morticon would still be alive, Korragg also should remember and be so helpful. Dark Wish
Lately the Rangers have become lazy and begin to use magic for everything. When Imperious releases the Barbarian Beasts, the Rangers rely on Jenji and he is captured. When Imperious makes a wish that the Power Rangers never existed, the Rangers find themselves in a world taken over by the darkness and without their magic. Korragg is as effected as everyone else and turns Fire Heart on the Barbarian Beasts, he also reveals Imperious' treachery to the Master, who nearly destroys Imperious. As the Rangers do all they can to fight they cross paths with a new Red Ranger in town, Blecker, he is not MF but rather the nascent Operation Turbo. In fact since OT specializes in magical artifacts Blecker is the one to reveal a scroll that talks about the Tribunal, he journeys with them, (since they have knowledge of the proper past) and they make their plea. Eventually the wish is reversed bur Blecker is “removed” from the timeline/meeting the rangers and Vida who had been returned to human is once more a Vampire in the thrall of Necrolai. Also they don't get the Legend mode just “because they learned a lesson.” Additionally Imperious and the Barbarian Beasts are restored to life. For a while the Rangers consider if it would have just been better to try to become Rangers anew in the Dark Wish world but could not live with placing the world under dark rule for 4 months. Note In dark wish Morticon is alive and in theory Imperious should still be trapped in the cave with Daggeron but since he made the wish he is immune to the time rewrite and has to explain things Morticon, who makes his own wish as a test, “I wish I had the secrets of the legendary mystics!” Which lets he morph into a Dark Ranger, however he is of course erased with the time line reset.

the first episode was pretty much like very other, the dark wish happens at the end.
the second one has them explore and get back their powers, the 3 is just returning us to status quo. Heck all the Rangers and Villains remember both time lines so the only ones who forget are the civilians and Udonna.

yes it was one. the Dark wish had a number of oddities like that. Like if "the Mystic Rangers never exisited" who killed Morticon and freed Imperious? Where is the Gate of the Underworld? Why are destroyed monsters still destroyed? And how does Korragg know the rangers but also knows that he raised Fireheart and he gave his magic to Necrolai?

If Necrolai have a morpher with Koragg magic why she dont use Catastros, because if she have the Magic powers of Koragg in that morpher for shore she is capable to summon him.

LEgend warrior mode was cool. They got staff that amplified their magical/elemental abilities but of course it takes time for them to get access to the power.

I think you're referring to the Tribunal of Magic? We're not entirely sure who they are, only that they're the only power capable of reversing a genie's wish. Mystic Mother didn't come round till the finale.

The Bowen/Leanbow reveal was rather obvious toward the end, but it was beautifully done IMO. I do wish we could have seen more of Brightstar.

What did you think of the cast?

The cast for this season was PERFECT. It is because of them Mystic Force was successful in my opinion.


What did you think of the morph sequence?


The morphing sequence was one of the best, but a little complicated. When I tried to do it for the first time with my cell phone, I got the numbers wrong. Then after a couple of times, I finally got all the spell codes right.


What did you think of the PRMF Villains?

If it wasn't for Koragg and the vampire lady, they would suck, and I mean BIG TIME.


What did you think of the PRMF "Spell Code" concept?

It was definitely something new and refreshing to the show. I liked it... a lot...


What were your thoughts on the theme song?

Although Mystic Force wasn't exactly a great season, it had a GREAT theme song. It's a real hit.



What did you think of 'The Gatekeeper'?

It was a great two-part episode, but so much more could come out of it.


What did you think of the quest for the Fireheart?

It was just a basic quest for me. A little complicated, but still basic.


What did you think of Leelee Pimvare and the reveal that she was Necrolai's daughter?

That was obvious for me. I knew Leelee was up to no good when she first came... and that was the second time I watched the season. But as a character, she was OK... and so H O T .


What did you think of Catastros?

A great addition in battle for both Koragg and the Rangers, but they could use him on more occasions.


What did you think of the Red Morphin' Ranger and the Green Mystic Ranger teaming up in that McDonald's commercial?

I've never seen the commercial, but it's got to be funny. And cool in a way. :D

"Dark Wish" was the best MF episode EVER. Legend Warrior mode so was cool. It rocked.

A true force to be reckoned with. A group of evil beings who's awesomeness rivals that of the Psycho rangers. I liked how they were already giant and only shrunk to play their "games" with the rangers. Sure most of them were only used as MOTDs, but by giving the group of monsters a name and some hype to go with it, they became some of the most difficult enemies any group of rangers had ever faced.
