I find the news rather disappointing. I would have liked to see Dwayne reprise his role as Mathayus.
Still, it's nice to see that Michael's been working steadily since Time Force. I also recognize him from his appearances on That's So Raven. I believe he played the dumb member of the boy band.

Yes, while it is good to see yet, another past actor in the acting business, it's still a disappointment. Even if it is a "prequel, they should leave movies like "Scorpion King" alone.

I can't wait for it to come out. It's supposed to be a prequel to the Scorpion King so even if he isn't as "buff "as the Rock it still might work.

hmmm. Well, first let me state, that altho I'm glad he's getting work after PR, I've never really been that big of a fan.
But, a prequel to the Scorpion King? Why? It sounds like its going to flop, not cuz they recast the lead, but becuz the concept is, horrible. Is it even legal to do a prequel to a prequel?(sarcasm, I know its not actually against the law)
Why not fill in the rest of the blanks between SK, and Mummy 2. How he went from a good guy, to what he was in the beginning of M3.
If this movie bombs, there's gonna be a lot of Power Ranger jokes going around. Not just on this site, but in reviews and stuff....I'm worried.

The poster for this movie is out. I'm not sure if Copon is on the poster or not. If it is him, it looks nothing like him at all.

Copon looks like himself. The acting looks good, but it's hard seeing him in this kind of role. It's new to him and wasn't what I expected for him, so it feels a bit awkward watching it.

I bought the movie and watched it last week. I think Michael did a great job. In fact when you first see him as Mathayus he stabs a spear into the ground and looks up and does a Rock-like one eyebrow raise. I liked Michael's performance better than Randy Couture's. Michael just seemed more natural. The special effects were the same quality as they would have been if it had been released in the theaters. I wish it had been. I would have gone to see it. The special features showed that Michael did alot of his own stunts.

Dwayne Johnson did not want to appear in the movie. It's a prequel, so it makes sense anyway since it would be hard to play a younger version of yourself.
Michael Copon was actually okay in this, acting wise. He certainly wasn't the reason the movie sucked on a lot of levels.

Saw the movie and it's not bad. Michael did a good job. He looked great and his acting is not bad either. If other would think the movie sucks, well yeah. It's not Michael fault.
