Banner System Cleanout

We have decided to clean out the banner system for a number of reasons, and because of this, you will notice that most banners have been removed. Although we appreciate the work that each member puts into their artwork, we decided it was best to remove them in order to optimize board performance, eliminate any outdated banners, and narrow down the list as to ensure members had an easier time choosing. All members have been reverted to using the board's default banner, but can easily change their banner of choice by following these easy instructions:

Settings -> General Settings -> Scroll down to Miscellaneous Options -> Forum Banner

We still encourage members to submit any new banners in the Banner Submission Thread by clicking here (http://www.rangercrew.com/forum/showthread.php?17538-Banner-Submission-Thread). There, you will find all necessary rules and guidelines to submitting banners. We also encourage members to design artwork for all seasons and characters of Power Rangers as we are always looking for originality and creativity. We hope you will enjoy the select few banners we have decided to keep and also remain hopeful that we will continue to see the same quality of work we have come to expect over the years.

If this is going to be a regular occurrence, will it include banners for current seasons (or the previous season)?

Members are encouraged to create banners for all seasons and characters of Power Rangers. Toku and Super Sentai banners are also acceptable.

We don't delete banners based on seasons. All seasons and themes are accepted. We delete the ones that are outdated in terms of visual appeal, and also site name. But we never delete banners based on season, which is why we encourage members to make banners for all seasons, characters, etc.

Can I request a banner to be re-submitted? I managed to get it out from my browser's cache though it's a banner that's been submitted waaaaaaaay back when FD first introduced the banner system and RC was on the original V1 skin, though it's still the coolest IMO...

Btw FD if I remember correctly you said you programmed the banner chooser yourself right? weren't you planning on making a graphic chooser so people could browse through the banners more easily? what became of that?

I developed the Banner Chooser, but haven't had a chance to enhance it with live graphics. I can definitely look into this.

I don't mind that my MMPR banner (below) got removed. I'd made it as a PNG, but when you converted it to JPG, the Rangercrew text ended up blurry, it just didn't look as good. Thus, it was no surprise to me that it was in the cull.

Indeed. Either that or they will be converted later. It's done because they are MUCH smaller in size, and PNG format puts a lot more strain on the database.
