Here's my live post during the episode

Great intro scene. Mike gets jealous that Mia gets the Beetle disc. I loved this scene in Shinkenger. The Samurai Battlewing is first mentioned in this scene.

Rick Medina in the Opening Theme!

Mike doing some crazy flips! Go Hector!

Ji finally acts like a mentor! And Mike acting up against the Mentor...AWESOME!

Spike comes close to discovering one of the Samurai Ranger's identity.

Ji on a motorcycle!

Samurai Battlewing! One sweet combination and finisher!

Final Thoughts: I would rank this as one of the best episodes this season. Hector and Rene were great in this episode. I enjoyed this episode much more than the Shinkenger counterpart. The Battlewing's Finisher is simply beautiful! If future episodes can follow the same formula used in this episode, this season will go far.

Why is it that the two Mike episodes are the worst of the season so far? This wasn't as bad as the team unites, but this is easily the second worst episode of the season in my opinion.

I never would have guessed that Ji would ever go out in public. On a motorcycle, no less.

Wow, so this is the character everybody's dickriding, huh?

I mean, this was a pretty decent episode (because the Shinkenger episode was pretty decent), but this was around the point I stopped watching Shinkenger, so hopefully Chiaki doesn't get anymore episodes like this, or else Mike is desperately close to being Casey status.

Better than last week.

--The main plot of this episode doesn't make sense. Mike has refused to listen and follow directions? Mike has been listening just fine all season. This is definitely a weakness of Samurai. Having bipolar Rangers that change personalities each episode just for the purposes of ripping off Shinkenger.

--So we're doing an episode about losing hope. And how does Samurai go to display this? A woman shouting "My hair!". A guy moaning "I didn't bring an umbrella!". Yeah, that totally shows loss of hope...

--Watching Mike lash out at Ji was actually kind of badass.

--"Don't say jokes you can't pull off." Take note Power Rangers Samurai, take note.

--Deker. Is. Cole.

--Good lord Emily and Mia are airheads. Complete airheads. Their argument against Kevin makes no sense at all. If Mike goes out of control in battle, Ji has full right to take his Samuraizer away. These girls are unbelievably empty.

--I don't really get where Bulk & Spike are going. Why are they training to become Samurais? How do they know what a Samuraizer is? Are they trying to find out who the Ranger are? I like what we got from them today, but...it just feels loose. If anyone is suffering from the lack of origin episode, it's these two.

--Ji on a motorcycle. At first I thought it was lame. But after second thought...kind of cool lol. I guess the Escalade isn't cool anymore?

Like I said, better episode than last week, and probably in Samurai's upper half. But that doesn't say much.

Did anyone catch the MOTD's name? I didn't hear it and the credits seemed to list Madimot, which was last week's MOTD's name.

I'm just completely over this season. Eight episodes in and I still don't care about any of these characters, and all the problems I've had with the show since the premiere seem to only be getting worse.

I kind of liked Mike before but he came off like a whiny douche here. So you didn't get the zord, big whoop. You obviously weren't ready for it and stealing the disk from Mia during battle just showed you didn't deserve it either. I really wish she hadn't given it to him at the end.

If "Mentor" is trying to give Princess Shayla and Dimitria a run for their money as most annoying mentor ever, he's doing a fine job. Rene Naufahu is dreadful in the role and the character is completely useless. Also maybe its just me, but he comes off more like Herbert the pervert rather than a loving father figure in his scenes with Jayden. Its creepy.

I really can't stand Kevin. Dude didn't say much today but everytime he even uttered a sound Iwanted to get up and smack him. His actor needs to stop exaggerating every single line.

And did they bring Ricardo back just to sit and look at his stupid sword and say oooRAmasa every episode?

2/5, I just can't in good conscious give out anything higher for this level of mediocrity. Step ya game up Samurai, step it up.

Can't say it was one of my favorite episodes...but it wasn't my least favorite...I mean I'm really not a fan of the Mike-centric episodes so far...of course I really could care less about Mike...honestly the only character who I'm slowly growing to appreciate is Jayden...he should just kick Ji out of the house and become the mentor character...

Also, who woulda thought looking at a tree for 2 minutes would make one a Samurai. Maybe Spike and Bulk should go look at a tree...

Mentioning Spike...why can't we have genuine interaction between characters? Not just a brief pass by, but ya know splitting a beer...I mean juice...at the Juice Bar...or something...

I do enjoy Mike's training scenes in both this and the first episode (Hector David Jr has a lot of fluidity to his movements so visually impressive)...too bad they were just rushed and conveniences and really held no impact...at all...visually they were fun to watch...but they just really added nothing because everything was just conveniently there...

They've had so many missed chances this season by trying to hold tight to the Sentai series.

So Squid-Face is trying to find something about Deker that they really know noting about...maybe that he was previously a Red Ranger? That'd be a fun (an original) twist to the series...

you know if you think about it. You can understand Mike's frustration. The beetle is a forest creature, and his symbol power is The Forest, so by giving it to Mia Mentor Ji may as well have just slap him in the face.

Here's my live post during the second airing.

-Nice picture of the Samurai Battlewing, but the book called it the Beetle Battlewing
-Though doing it for the wrong reasons, Mike's training scene was pretty good...
-The Gap Sensor... This is the first one we've seen and I don't like it... With as many gaps as there are, they can't conceivably have one everywhere, so this one just seems... stupid? Up until now, I thought the Gap Sensor was a scanning sensor at the Shiba house... But when you actually have little sensors at random gaps... I mean, really?
-MIke's symbol power making that plant wrap up Ji's staff - pretty sweet.
-What the heck is wrong with Mia and Emily? Do they not understand that when one of your teammates is insubordinate to the leader that their are consequences to pay?
-And then Jayden, talking down to Mentor? Really?
-So somehow Spike (and maybe Bulk) knows that the Samurai Rangers use Samuraizers... How? Or is he just using incredible logic and in breaking down the word, worked out that the samuraizer turns one into a samurai [ranger]
-Mentor Ji on the motorcycle - Unexpected, but I like it.
-I thought Octoroo was the "smart" one of Xandred's crew, but his complaining of big words leaves me baffled.
-Was really hoping to see some symbol power in the forest, but, oh well. I still don't think Ji over reacted in his punishment of Mike.
-Was it really necessary to do the full Zord Summoning/Mega Mode sequence?
-The Samurai Battle Wing was awesome!

A few problems with it, but I still enjoyed it.

I agree here...it really bothered me...I've been a supporter of Octoroo as the brains of the operation, even so much as being the one really in charge...the referencing "big words" seems to be the writers attempts at humor for a 5 year old...I wish the writer's gave kid's more credit...

It's the worst épisode of this season

+

-I like bulk & spike's scene
-I love the samurai battlewing

-:

-Ji is so annoying
-Mike is immature. For me it was a whim and he has obtained what he wants. Mia deserved this disc, not him. And moreover Ji apologizes while mike is wrong!
-Who is the mentor? Jayden Or Ji
-A samurai on a motorcycle?
-Emily is really annoying. It's cute that she tries to defend Mike but "He tried"is not a valid argument
-It's stupid to show us the flashback from episode that we has not seen.
-The Vilains are useless
-It gets on my nerves to see how Mia is not set values. In most of the Saban's season girls are content to be beautiful. This is what happens in Samurai. I hope she will be more develloped then because I think she has great potential. I love her very much.
-The context of the episode is good for the Sentai, but is odd in Samurai.

The Opening change for third time and Now we have Deker there.
The scene where Mentor are choise the Rangers and the Powers Disks are cool we ca nsee Mike are really upset for not be choised to have a Power Disk and show a book with BattleWing Megazord.
Mike Trainning is really cool to see that.
The Rangers battle with the Monster it as cool and see Mike tries to manage the Power Disk it as cool.
The Discuss of the Mentor punish the Mike and take him is Samuraizer and toy with the plan is funny.
The Villans with Sanzu discuss and Octoro it as consern about something about Deker because there is something diferent about him the scene Deker in the Forest and speak with is sword is cool and reminds me of Zen-Aku
Jayden and Ji scenes are really cool and see Lion Origami playing with Jayden it as cool, chemistry between Jayden and Ji is awesome.
Ji with Motocycle really awesome and really not expect in PR Samurai.
Bulk and Spike scene is funny.
When Ji it as explain to Mike the Truth Power of Mike we see in Flashbacks some scenes of the past episodes and there is one when we see Jayden summon a horse that scene could by for shore of the truth "Samurai Origins" the Truth Season Premiere.

I see a lot of overreacting to what Mike did. All he did was make a plant wrap around Mentor's staff, and people are acting like He used his symbol power to make a giant Venus fly trap to eat him, or to wrap around mentor like a python and squeeze him. Inappropriate and childish yes, but nothing to merit the kind of reaction I'm seeing from some of you

The more i see of Decker the more I'm inclined to believe that he is Cole. Octoroo : There is something about Decker that we have never even considered. I wonder if he means that decker used to be a ranger himself :D Also a thing to look at. He is paticularly interested in dualing with Jayden, but i think it goes deeper then the sword skill. If it was another actor playing the part I would say that would be a cool idea, but since it's the same actor who played Cole, they should just make him that character, it would be a waste if they didn't.

I thought the episode was just good, nothing more. Definitely a step down from the previous two episodes, but I still found something to enjoy about it. I'm easily entertained. :D

- The opening scene with Mike training to prove himself worthy was well done, but a bit off. I can't my put my finger on what it was, but I wasn't feeling it? lol

- Mini gap sensors... Neat!

- A lot of talking goin' on in that scene against "Umbrella-head" Nighlok. I did get a laugh out of what Mike said about the people acting like Kevin. Haha

- Great acting moment between Rene and Hector when Ji asks Mike to step down. We rarely get moments like these in Samurai, and they did great!

- More random Bulk and Spike scenes... Yay! As I said before, at least they're coincidentally within the same vicinity as the Ranger (s). And uh-oh, Spike heard Mike say "Samuraizer".

- Ji has gone badass on a motocycle? ... Cool with me. :buttrock:

- Touching moment between Ji and Mike in the forest. Just touching.

- Mike should enter the Olympics or something. 'Nuff said.

- Awesome Megazord finisher!

As for everything else, it was just good (and at time, just kinda there). Cute ending as usual. The next episode should be exciting.

This week's episode was okay. I think it could have been better if Mentor's acting was so.. cardboard at times. Also, the whole direct translation of names kind of takes away from it. I mean, when the bird did the finishing thing, they called it "final strike"...eww. Bulk and Spike were pretty okay this week. I like how they tied directly into the rangers with Spike hearing "Samuraizer"

My episode analysis.

1. Glad they put Richard in the intro.

2. The Samurai motion detector thing? Did they plant these things all over town or something?

3. "Why's everyone become so glum? It's like they've all become Kevin." "What?" lol

4. "Push a door that's meant to be pulled and it will never open"?! >_>

5. Mike's game...a ninja vs a grizzly? What kind of game is that? lol

6. "Dance teaches balance, timing and control." Might that be something he learned from Zack all those years ago.

7. Jayden summoning that horse. Was that from the first episode that we have yet to see?

8. Mike teaching Ji to dap. lol

9. Liked how Mike pole vaulted.

10. Did anyone else find that Spongebob spot during the Megazord formation annoying?

11. I like the personalized consoles. :)

12. Mentor said "dude". lol And I liked the plant dap. lol

All in all good episode. Could've used more Deker, but his episode is coming, so I won't have to wait forever.

What spongebob spot???

MegaBlue
03-27-2011, 09:26 PM
Spongebob gets the banner at the bottom of the screen for PRS. I saw it pop up during one of Saturday's episodes. PRS gets a VERY QUICK Spongebob popup that goes away and, if you're keeping track, lasts either half or 1/3 as long as it does in any other show. Now, if you want annoying, the iCarly-cast-all-over-the-screen that took over "The Team Unites" during one of the broadcasts was pretty bad. Also, it's usually during the Megazord formation, so, really, are we losing anything IMPORTANT?

I kind of wish the PRS cast would release a song to fill the end credits time (like BTR and Victorious). Surely, out of the five of them, SOMEONE has to have aspirations to sing that Nick could cash in on.

As far as the episode goes, it was good. PR does cheesy "monsters terrorize the civilians" scenes all the time. Remember Flute Org that made the kids dance for 5 minutes before they complained about how tired they were? Yes, "my hair!" ranks up there on the 'sexism' scale with "every girl dreams of wearing a wedding dress," but it was fun nevertheless. I wish the villains would do more personal-involvement attack schemes, like Dayu going after the brides and capturing Mia. If PRS wants to be like MMPR, it needs the villains to be involved in the evil schemes and, if they can even get THAT far, involved in the Rangers' lives as well. Mike likes video games, so why not trap him inside one? Octoroo can plan to infiltrate a kids' birthday party, so Jayden can Symbol Power up a clown or magician to distract the party while he fights Octoroo. These plots pretty much write themselves!

SirGreen

it was Meh.
We learn a bit more about how Symbol power works but the episode feels rushed

"You need to find the forest within"
"ok will do"
"Mike we need you"

That was litterly the pacing, aparent he had a epifiny in one second.
it would have worked better if they cut tothe fight with mike saying "will do" see the rangers get blasted down and Jaden takes out his Samurazier "mike we need you" then they can cut to him because we don't know how much time has passed and it makes his "training" feel more organic.

The Octoroo "so many big words" came out of left field

and the sudden acceptiance of the team was also out there, let Mia keep the bettle disc for at least a couple episodes and JI don't appoligize Mike was insibordinate, what ever the reason he needs punishment, seriously if I was mike it would be SO easy to get away with murder, just make a token appology and you'll have your team fall over themselves to appolgize to you!

Of course, because if the show doesn't copy the Sentai source footage then that would be originality...and there is no place for that in Power Rangers. I mean the ONLY reason PR has ever been successful is because it has ALWAYS adhered completely to it's Sentai counterpart...

NO!!!! Sentai is far superior!!!! We MUST be a slave to their footage!!!!

Okay...enough of that nonsense...

I really think that Mia should've kept the disk, it would give her some creedance, and maybe a chance to become a focus character...well I actually think that Jayden should've kept the disk, since he was the one who trained for it...Tiger could've gone elsewhere...

IF we weren't slaving to the Sentai footage, they could've gotten several good episodes worth of original story telling, if ya know, the Rangers trained for their respective disks.
Kevin had to fish? Honestly, they could've done something a lot more exciting...I mean, he used to be a swimmer, right? (Unless that little tid bit has been forgotten) Maybe use that in his attempt to capture the Swordfish. Or if we are just going to give the Beetle Disk to whomever, maybe have THAT person having to accomplish something to earn it instead of taking Jayden's disk and giving it to the most convenient. I can live with the Tiger Zord's handling, more-or-less.

The truth is that if they were allowed to, the writers (even if they were all amateur writers), could probably come together to give a better story...but the boss says to do it the way Sentai does it...just kiddier...so that's what they do.

This whole season is mostly rubbish, and will add absolutely nothing to the PRU...now a little creativity could go a long way...give us a good Deker/Cole arc (as opposed to just stroking his sword)...bring in the Gold Ranger with a bang...pretty much all hope is lost for the current team of Rangers...so use some of the newer characters getting introduced and maybe add something...I dunno...good?

LOL, I just hope if saban gets the go ahead to adapt Goseiger he dose it different. Shinkenger Is better, I'm just watching Shinkenger the Abridged Series so I could give PR some ratings.

As a webmaster, it definitely ticks me off when these ads pop up during the important clips. They should make them as subtle yet informative as possible. Every episode, Spongebob pops up during the best part of the fight scenes.

Here's a prediction for a future episode:
The Gold Ranger defeats the Nighlok of the Day and slowly removes his helmet. Cue the instrumental music. Cue the slow camera changes between the Rangers and the Gold Ranger. Wait for it. Wait for it. Spongebob pops up! :)

Ok ep. Copies Shinkenger again, only a few originality with Bulk and Spike. I would've loved if Mia kept the disc after all in the megazord's cockpit they are not bounded by sentai footage.

Meh they look very similar.

Will be really cool if Mia keeps the Beetle Disc instead of give him to Mike.

I kind of wish the PRS cast would release a song to fill the end credits time (like BTR and Victorious). Surely, out of the five of them, SOMEONE has to have aspirations to sing that Nick could cash in on.

Maybe Steven Skyler can write the song. He does have a music background.

Wow even the gestures are copied.

Which doesn't quite work for Samurai since Mako (Shinken Pink) is a lot more kuudere (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Laconic/Kuudere) than Mia.

I have said it in the Shinkenger thread, but I also strongly believed that Mako (ShinkenPink) should've kept the Kabuto disc instead of giving it to Chiaki. I thought that since Saban shot their own cockpit footages, they'd deviate from the Shinkenger in this case.

The camera shots used inside the Samurai Battlewing's cockpit was excellent. It's been a rare case to have such an angled camera shot inside a cockpit. They are definitely making the most of the new cockpit design.

The last usage of zord cockpit that I enjoyed was the first time the Wolf Pride Megazord is formed. In that scene, the Yellow Ranger is injured and Wolf Ranger takes over to form the new combination.

Not that I've watched this ep, but have to admit spongebob poping up really helped my I can't bare this no more thought, especially when I started waiting and guessing at what moment he'd appear. It reminds me of the one ep of Doctor Who where a cartoon Graham Norton popped up, he never did again, the bbc were inundated with complaints. The Jungle Fury bar of forever was annoying but I'd rather quick, text bars than a cartoon character ruining an entire scene, I could half forgive them if it was Aang but spongebob?

This is my rousing speech of please god I hope people complain! Down with spongebob, he's got his own god-damn show and kids have satellite or cable right, that tells them what's on next anyway.

They'll use all zords from the Sentai, except maybe a movie one that only appeared in one other episode (Go-onger's Engine DaiShogun wasn't used in RPM because it's episode wasn't adapted - there is a toy though, Engine Shogun Megazord).

This episode sucked. I haven't liked Samurai so far, but I think I've been more than generous with it. I've generally tried to enjoy the good-natured campiness of this season, and I've let the characters a lot of passes. Because even if they've been poorly written and acted, they've been positive role models for (very young) kids. Up until now. "Forest For the Trees" gives us the first punkish outburst from this previously spotless team of Rangers. I hate crap like that, which I saw way too much of during the Kalish era. If I'm going to watch a show with the kind of writing, acting hindrances as PR, then the characters better be likeable.

I didn't care for Mike's angst right from the start. I mean wow, a disk he didn't earn (which Jayden nearly killed himself to master) wasn't just handed to him. Big whoop. To Mike's credit he initially tried to work even harder for it, but the attitude that he should've just gotten it was still very unappealing. I liked Emily's sweet concern for him, but Mia...she comes across more as a fifties housewife with each episode. All that talk about marriage, her idealized attitudes about family life, and now her feelings of guilt for getting rewarded over her male teammate. To the point where she even says that Mentor Ji made the wrong choice, and that she feels bad for taking the disk. They didn't outright say it, but that's the impression I get from her character. And I know that none of this is intentional (I remember the press releases calling her a glamorous beauty who acts like a "big sister"). She comes across this way because her Sentai counterpart was obsessed with marriage. Ji's explanation that Mike didn't "listen" rang hollow, because Mike hasn't been portrayed as a rogue before.

The first monster attack...ugh. When I saw that businessman screaming at someone to get their contracts done, I thought we'd see some decent adult situations for once. Then the guy gets a spell put on him and starts pouting and whining like a baby. It was embarassing. Also, Mike's line about everyone looking "glum" like Kevin was way out of place in this episode. Mike ribbing Kevin about his seriousness is their normal characterization, but it's just dumb in an episode all about Mike being all angsty.

Mike's selfish actions during the battle were stupid, and were rightfully criticized by Mentor Ji. And Ji wasn't even that harsh with him (if only because the actor doesn't ever seem to even try to convey any emotions, ever). But then Mike punked out, attacks his mentor, and storms off in a huff. The team's reactions to the incident were stupid. They at least called Mike "childish," but to apply that to Mentor Ji as well was stupid. And again, I didn't appreciate Mia's vaguely sexist attitude that she somehow owed something to Mike. I thought Jayden's acting as he talked to Ji was decent for once, and he came across like a nice guy. But the lines...God they were corny. And Ji once again looks useless next to his own supposed student, who lectures HIM about how he should act.

The episode suddenly got a little bit better by the end of the arcade scene. I still hate the way that Spike is written and acted. But then he overheard Mike mentioning his "Samuraizer." Wow, eight episodes in and the comedy relief actually does something somewhat relevant to the Rangers! We see the villains, and once again Xandred isn't feeling well, AGAIN. What an utterly weak and useless head villain. So bad this time that he needs to rest and isn't even seen. Octoroo mentions that he's been going through tons of old books, researching the Rangers as well as Deker. Nice to see him doing something, even if it's not all that much. We also see Deker, sitting alone and talking about waiting to duel the Red Ranger again. Get the feeling that this story is decompressed?

Ji's motorcycle was utterly random, but his joke about not having to clean up after it like a horse was nice. He and Kevin head to the woods for some training which turned out to be utterly nonsensical. They stare at the trees for a few seconds, then Mike thanks Ji for showing him everything? What?!

Then we get another corny battle, with goofy Sentai effects made worse by the fact that this episode has been handled so incompetently up to this point. And did the monster seriously hurt himself by crashing into a building?

Except for "There Go the Brides," Samurai hasn't shown the ability to match any previous season in technical execution and sophistication. If it can't be competent, then it needs to be fun, upbeat, and campy. I'm willing to forgive that. But when Samurai tries to be all serious business, the results are pitifully bad. "Forest For the Trees" doesn't just try (and fail) to handle a serious plot, it also made Mike look like an idiot and a baby.

I give this trash a 3/10.

I agree here...it really bothered me...I've been a supporter of Octoroo as the brains of the operation, even so much as being the one really in charge...the referencing "big words" seems to be the writers attempts at humor for a 5 year old...I wish the writer's gave kid's more credit...

LOL, in a season like Samurai, NO ONE is really smart. The smartest villain (if I had to choose one) is Dayu. Know why she sits alone in the corner playing her instruments, only occasionally expressing disdain for her fellow villains? Because Octoroo is a useless nobody who can't read, and "Master" Xandred is an even more useless, over medicated junkie. Forget the main text about her hating life because of some tragedy in her past. She hates everything because she's surrounded by idiots.

My favorite part was when Mia said she felt bad for taking the disk, AFTER the battle where Mike stole it from her. She's content to be pushed around. And the writers don't even realize how she comes across. Or they do realize it but just don't care because they're under orders to make a hollow, dumbed down copy of the Sentai.

well even if we see the "Original Samurai Team" with sealed the Master Xandred long ago like they tell in the little preview when the episode startes they tell they passed there Symbols to Parents to child that means could have many Samurai Teams over long of the years and the Nilloks have returns many times and always be defeated by Master Xandred possible dont come out from the Sanzu River even in some others seasons of Power Rangers there are some past team of Power Rangers like LG,WF,SPD,MF,JF in this teams there are always a past team with battle of the Villans in the Past and the Some happens with PR Samurai with battle over years the Master Xandred forces.

Decker clearly stated that the original samurai red sealed Master Xandred. The same way it happened to Dokuku, or whatever his name was. Decker also mentioned the sealing power. So it's safe to assume that Samurai is following the same storyline as shinkenger, well so far anyway. 'Forest for the trees' was great. There is a difference between Mike's symbol power (forest) and Chiaki's kanji (wood), but they're both one and the same.

Well, to be fair to Mako, although she had wanted to be married and settled down early in the series, she didn't not talk nonstop about her dreams in every episode. From what I've seen, Mia is even more obsessed, and Mako never felt bad for taking the disk like Mia did either.

Just watched it on Nick.com. Knowing it was going to be a Mike episode who the last time they gave him a focus episode (The Team Unites) sucked I wasn't expecting much. But this was a surprisingly good episode much better than I got a Spell on Blue. This episode suceeded where The Unites failed by actual being cohesive. It was also nice to see they're developing Mike better as an insecure young man because God knows the show needs as much character development as possible It was also nice to see someone other than Jayden finish off the monster in its first life. I only had two major qualms with this episode: The Nighlocks power seems irrelevant since he only used it once and it was for like 5 seconds and downright idiotic. Thats how writers are gonna show people losing hope? Right I guess they felt people whining about insipid things was safer then showing deep psychological issues. Maybe thats PRS problem its playing things too safe. My other problem is Mia giving her Powerdisk to Mike. I knew it was gonna happen but still I think it would have worked better to let Mia keep the disk and have Mike realize he doesn't need it to have his own selfworth. Its also jarring to hear Jayden to say he agrees that Mike uses it better than Mia when Mia han't even used it. Another problem with directly translating Sentai. Japanese sexism. Still one of PRS better episodes and for that I'll give it an A-

Mike certainly has a character that stands out after the episodes devoted to him, which is a good thing. He's the hothead of the group. The story itself wasn't anything to write home about, they never explained how the rain actually caused people to lose hope but the character development was decent. 7/10.
