Rhoda on Power Rangers Operation Overdrive
How did you hear about the Power Rangers role?
I have an agent who deals with all my castings and jobs. They called me up one day and told me that Disney wanted to audition me for the part of Rose.
What is a typical day on the set?
Wake up (really early!), wardrobe, then hair & makeup, then shoot, shoot, shoot! Lunch and then more shooting! There's a lot of waiting around for the camera and lighting to be set up, so you have to be very patient and considerate to everyone else's jobs, but despite all the long days and hard work, it's still a lot of fun!
Which cast member were you closest with?
We were all really close as a group, so it's hard to say who I was closest to because they were all so great. I guess because Caitlin was the only other girl on set (apart from the days we worked with Ria) we got to spend a lot more time together in our dressing room and on the makeup truck; but I'm close to the whole gang and we all had a laugh working with each other.
How would you compare yourself with your character?
Rose and I are so similar and so very different in many ways...Firstly, my nickname growing up was (and still is) Rose and my favourite colour (for as long as I've known) has always been pink! She's so smart, which is a really cool thing, and I was usually in all the top classes at school, but I was far from being a child genius and am definitely not a walking encyclopedia like she is. One big difference between Rose and myself is that she never really had the chance to be a child and have fun growing up because of her intelligence, whereas I definitely had the chance to enjoy being a child; in fact, I'm still a big kid inside and still enjoy playing around and having a lot fun to this day!
What episode was your favorite?
I loved being a pirate! It was fun dressing up an being a completely different character for Pirate In Pink.
What was the most challenging part of being a Ranger?
Filming so far away from home for such a long time was quite challenging, even though I was so busy with the job, there were some moments when I'd feel very homesick, especially at the beginning.
What was the most fun part of being a Ranger?
We got to film at some really cool locations, and the action scenes were always fun to do.
How did you feel when the filming was over?
I was very sad to say goodbye to the cast and crew. They really felt like my family by the end of it, and it was really hard to see it all come to an end. I was definitely very tired physically and mentally from all the filming, and so in that respect, I was ready to go home and rest, but I hate goodbyes so it was quite an emotional time for me.
