If you could make a PR video game, what season would it be based off of & what would happen in it?

Power Rangers in Space for the Xbox 360, which would include Xbox Live support.

Lego Power Rangers, Mighty Morphin' Through Turbo. Give the game a soapbox engine where you can run around fighting putties monsters and running missions for different folks in Angel Grove. You can ride around on individual zords or megazords. You can either multiplayer or have four ai ranger buddies that you get team attacks with. Have missions like finding Tommy's communicator that he left somewhere impossible. Get turned into a pizza. Less beat-em-up and more running around in the universe

This.

But I'd have it be MMPR-Samurai.

And also be able to have a VS mode, where you could fight any monster, or any ally, or even another Ranger if you wanted.

Like maybe Sensei vs...Skull. XD

That would be a fighting game and therefore more restrictive than a soapbox game. Plus, you can't fit everyone in one game, you work in sets of certain seasonal clusters. MMPR through Turbo is the most logical starting point since they all exist in one city and you can simply focus one rendering different parts of Angel Grove and Stone Canyon. You can build the astro shuttle for achievement points

I agree, look at Lego Star Wars and Lego Harry Potter. SW's three games cover episodes 1-3, episodes 4-6, and the Clone Wars. HP's two games cover years 1-4 and 5-7 - four movies each. PR could have a trilogy using six seasons each (MMPR-Space, Lost Galaxy-Dino Thunder, SPD-Samurai), with the old save bonus of being able to use characters from previous games if you have a save file with them unlocked.

Okay then maybe just MMPR-Space, then.

The rest of the seasons could be future games.

I would make something similar to Kamen Rider Climax Heroes but I would use the soul calibur style to the 1 vs 1 game. The 3D beat em up game on the other hand I would add RPG elements from Final Fantasy games. I would use all seasons for sure

I don't want to add Space yet. Space is too big. Anchoring it to the older seasons would just be to its detriment. Space needs its own game to really make use of its universe

Power Rangers RPM with gameplay kinda like Mass Effect.

Something about the concept just makes me want a 2D Fighting Game with every ranger, even if some just end up being palette swaps.

Power Rangers: In Space, Power Rangers Turbo, or a REAL Power Rangers Zeo game, not the pinball and racing games we got.

Power Rangers vs Street Fighter. Eventually, you can incorporate every Ranger through some big time DLC support - maybe halves of teams at a time, until your army is built - as well as every Street Fighter character. Keep it in the simple 2D that Street Fighter II is known for, and it won't take up a lot of hard disk space at all. Incorporate the grunts and the major villains from each series to keep it fresh. We don't need EVERY monster-of-the-day to show up and be available. That'd be a waste of space. Besides, who'd want to fight as Little Red Evil Girl from PRDT?

I want a Lego game or an RPM one. Have Story Mode

I.E.

MMPR Stages (S1):
Day Of The Dumpster
Green With Evil
Island of Illusion
The Green Candle
Doomsday
Return of an Old Friend

Basically all the big episodes, with some unlockable levels being fillers.

I would have an RPM game with the following qualities:

-Gameplay would be similar to Spider-Man 2 (PS2) and Kingdom Hearts II (PS2).
-The story of the game would be the story of the show with some added sidequests and challenges (For instance, getting to see Scott, Flynn, and Summer become Rangers and fight for the first time).
-There would be an energy bar similar to the ones in the show; When charged, the Ranger can unleash their full potential, and when drained, they need to fall back and recover. You can switch to another Ranger during combat so that the previous one can recover their energy.
-The playable Rangers for each mission would depend on the active Rangers during each battle in each episode (For instance, immediately after Ziggy becomes Ranger Green, only Ziggy and Dillon would be playable against Tenaya and the robot since they did most of the fighting in "Go For The Green").

I'd wait until they came out with like a Gokaiger Adaptation before making a game, and then from there, it would be simple... You'd play as a ranger (or rangers in Online multiplayer) and you would search for the ranger keys of your color. Of course, you would start with the powers of what ever Gokaiger ranger you chose, but then as missions went on you would have to decide which ranger abilities were better and have to use them.

Also, it would be awesome if it were like Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II where your actions determined whether or not your ranger would become evil. Yeah, I know you're supposed to be the hero, but hey it's a video game, and plus this would lead to a new storyline for the sequel game, if they chose to have one.

I love how you describe other games without knowing what the gameplay type is. Yes, I screwed up calling them soapbox games instead of sandbox games. Kingdom Hearts is an Action RPG. Spiderman and the Hulk are pretty much Soapbox games.

My game would be a Super legends type game for PS3, Xbox, ECT. and it would have a story mission, versues, create your own ranger, It would be soul calibur type game for Power Rangers.

Since Namco Bandai is doing it, something like that could be possible.

But I want an actual story to it. Something along the lines of the old SNES games but with much improved graphics. Both morphed and unmorphed fights. And I've said it in other PR video game threads and I'll say it here to A SAVE FEATURE! That was the one big problem I had with those Power Ranger games, most were pretty tough.

An open world game would be cool, like inFamous or something. I'd focus it on one season though. (Most likely MMPR S1, if anything) You could select your ranger and live their life, ordinary teenager by day, superhero by afternoon. :D Anyway, the big challenge would be to not reveal that you are a ranger so you can't run around helmetless or whatever. There would be a main story and various side stories, some of which would be exclusive to certain characters. For example, a side story for Jason could be a Martial Arts tournament and then one of them could link to main story if you do well enough because you fight Tommy. Another idea I just thought up is with one of the non-martial artists, e.g. Kimberly. Basically, you could have Kim learn martial arts but you can choose who she goes to to learn from, whether it's Trini, whatever fighting style she has, or Jason, Karate and maybe later on Tommy, Tae Kwon Do or whatever. Billy would sort of be the same, since he does go to Jason's Karate classes and has Trini's uncle Howard as a tutor as well.

Make that even more interesting by having it use Kinect, but make it OPTIONAL that way those that don't have it could still play it

Kinect is a load of crap for anything except the shovelware nonsense we have already. Case in point the new Fable game.

How would a Power Rangers MMO work?

Design your own Ranger, like City of Heroes. That's how.

Oh right. To be honest, I'm not much of an MMO person so I wouldn't play a Power Rangers MMO anyway.

PR is team based. Designing a single ranger goes against that crucial dynamic

Yeah, unless the game is called "Tommy Oliver"

SirGreen
08-12-2011, 07:40 PM
^ ha ha nice. We have had this thread many times lol.

an MMO would work by you could create your own team or just a single, play with 5 characters, have their own missions like how in the show they have character build up could do that. Then also some how intertwine drop in drop out co op or also build with other friends around the world.

Blazen

I would use a PR team exclusive to the game. This would free them up from both a game play, and story standpoint. By giving you a team that isn't based around one of the season you would be able to customize the group as you see fit. This has actually long been a dream of mine, but one that I doubt would ever be realized.

No, but they still end up helping the other rangers constantly.

I like how people say that power rangers are a team, yet in ALL of the side scoller games from the SNES, game boy, etc, you only play as one ranger at a time through each play through.

Quark

That simply isn't true. Offhand, the Movie game for SNES, and The Fighting Edition game.

That's a limit of the genre though. It's meant to imply that all the Rangers are there, but you only play as one (for the old 16 bit games). Ofcourse you also have the Megazord. I know some of the GBA ones actually specified that the Rangers went solo, but then again those games weren't really considered very good. Besides, just because that's how the games currently do it soesn't mean that it's right.
