No doubt about it
* I hate this monster's voice
* Kevin's dad is slightly british lol
* So now they get horses !?!
* Agggh! Straight up translation!
* And now, the sneak peek we've all been waiting for!
* "I will help you" that line seemed so forced
* Love the guitar in the background
This episode gets an OK, never really liked 1st episodes anyways

Is Mouth Skirt voiced by Nic Sampson (Chip, Sentinel Knight)?
Mighty Green?
I kinda wish we had a Southern Ranger during the Disney years, for no other reason than to hear "Let's Ran'ga Up y'all!"
Heh, "Guys, we can do this together." *Nearly takes everyone head's off*
Well, there's your explanation for the Monster Growing methond and Mega Mode.
No Bulk and Spike.

Finally figured out Mouth Skirt says "Who are you punk?" He was expecting the older Rangers.

Meh, I give this a 2/5. I'm not a big fan of rushed one episode premieres (with the exception of lightspeed rescue) so that brings this episode down a notch for me. Also, everything pretty much went down hill after the rangers met and displayed a bunch of bad acting and corny lines. Hopefully next Saturdays episode is better.

Direct copy of Shinkenger Act 1, what a load.
Well, it was decent.

10-15-2011, 09:36 AM
Actually more decent than I thought it would be.
Awesome opening fight. Loved the Samurai instrumental
Jayden asking if he was ready to lead. A hell of alot better than Takeru's "I can do it myself, they would just get in the way"
"We can do this together"...aka..Off with your heads
Mentor Ji...really a Mentor? Holy crap when did this start happening?
Awesome Flashbacks
Negatives:
Skirt Mouth? Wow.
Too much Sentai footage.
Horse into town?
Who the hell was driving the Samurai SUV?
Digifiend

The SUV driver is our version of the Kuroko - the black suited stagehands from Shinkenger. We'll never know who they are.
The day we all dreamed of back in February is here at last.
--Ji showing up for battle? Ji throwing smoke bombs for no apparent reason? Ji having an actual purpose? My, how times have changed.
--Xandred is so useless throughout the season, it just makes the villains' introductory scene irritating.
--Wow, how bad was Alex's acting? He's the only one you can see clear improvement in his acting. The rest are still...true to themselves.
--Why is Jayden riding a horse to meet his new teammates? Random. And that whole scene where they first meet was just flat out awkward.
--Hooray for the Rangers magically showing up for battle in training gear.
--Oh my, was I the only one who thought the way Jayden killed off that Nighlok was a little violent?
--"We did good!". Are you kidding Emily, we did good!? It's well! We did well! Emily is so dumb she's going to dumb the audience down.
Overall, it did feel a bit rushed. I enjoyed watching it just because I enjoy watching premiere episodes. But when put up against other season premieres, it was nothing special. The chemistry between the Rangers' characters is so awkward I can feel the tension through my TV screen. We'll see how they finish it off next week, but there's no doubt in my mind that they should have shown this episode first. Would it have changed my overall enjoyment in the season? Maybe, but probably not. But still, someone should be fired for the decision to hold off these Origins.
And did anyone catch the name of the Nighlok? Don't tell me it was actually Skirt Mouth...

I fully enjoyed this episode and I can't wait to see how it goes next week. I love individual zord fights, sort of a lost art for Power Rangers, until this season.

I thought it was good. I liked the opening with the Samurai theme playing during Jayden's fight, The team coming together, and the first morphed fight. Nickelodeon should've aired this first. There was plenty of action here. I don't understand Nick's logic. Looking forward to next week.

I'm sorry. Did I miss something? I don't remember hearing the Rangers formally introduce themselves, yet they all seemed to know each others' names?
Oh and I loved the line about Master Xandred being able to talk without moving his mouth. I was like "He's a ventriloquist." lol

Good episode, but it should've been the first episode because now that the current episodes are more serious and way epic, the Origins was kind of a downgrade. It would've been more epic if that was the first episode. It just doesn't work that well for this show.
Things I liked:
-Their little backgrounds (Mia playing with kids, Mike playing at the arcade, Emily playing her flute)
-Kevin's abs. So hot!
-I liked the arrow shooting thing
-(My fav part!) When Kevin stopped by the car and said "I will fight with you!" And it was Mia, and her eyes were wide because Kevin's abs were totally right in front of her! HAHAHA
-I liked when they introduced eachother (MIGHTY GREEN!)
-The fighting
-The one zord battle (I've never really seen that)
Thing's I didn't like:
-Jayden's long hair (It was weird, I like his short hair better!)
-Jayden's personality in this episode, he was kind of a jerk.
-The morphing/zord sequence was too long
-Too many dumb commercials!
-The episode seemed really rushed
In all, this episode was pretty good. I just love power rangers!

So, they've finally aired the unseen "Origins" episode...and it's completely boring. This was one of the blandest, most obligatory episodes I've seen in a while. There was no story, and very little effort to infuse the episode with any kind of depth or flair. It was simply "show the Rangers coming together for their first battle," and even that wasn't done competently. They did the bare minimum required in a premiere episode. Now being an actual premiere episode automatically makes this better than "The Team Unites," but what have we actually learned from "Origins" that we didn't know already? Nothing.
The first scene is pretty good. Once again the show resorts to a Kiwi child actor, but he's far more competent than usual. He still has an accent, but he wasn't as stiff and unnatural as all the others. The voiceover (the same voice from the little intro sequence that airs before every episode) gave the scene a bit of a creepy vibe. Which is good for a scene that introduces the villains, but it was still pretty threadbare. The voiceover literally says nothing except that the "gaps" are portals into the netherworld.
So Jayden and Ji intervene to save the kid. Ji actually throws some smoke pellets, which is sadly the boldest and most heroic thing he's done ALL season. He also talks up Jayden before the battle. Now on one hand, the line about how the Moogers will end up as "rust on his blade" was pretty cool. On the other hand, the speech is also kissing up to Jayden, and Rene Naufahu can't act. Whatever happened to the guy who played Emperor Gruumm? So Jayden battles the Moogers in a fight that's mostly Sentai footage, but pretty good Sentai footage. We still don't know one thing about him as a character at this point, but the scene is energetic and helped by the MMPR-inspired theme. I imagine I might have been more excited, had this been my first experience with Samurai.
Next we see Octoroo waiting by the banks of the Sanzu River, as Xandred's ship finally resurfaces after his previous banishment. This introduction scene did what it had to, since everyone's name was actually said out loud as they appeared one at a time. WAY better than going in cold the way they did in "The Team Unites," which I still regard as an unforgiveable first episode. What I found funny about this scene (and what was probably completely unintentional) was how Octoroo seemed so happy to see Master Xandred again. Which contrasts with how he avoids that rageaholic junkie in other episodes, hoping that Xandred just stays asleep and out of the way. Other than that, this scene didn't really do anything. It's just so brief, and really doesn't show us who anything about any of these villains. Except that Xandred is already boozing it up in the first episode.
Next we're shown the Samurai Rangers in their civilian lives, before joining the team. And by that, I mean we just see glimpses of them sitting or standing around. Again the episode hardly tells us anything about them, and nothing we don't already know. Kevin at least got to talk to his dad, although his dad was simply taking care of business and telling him that he has to give up swimming to join the team. We see Mike sitting at an arcade, Mia standing around some kids for no stated reason, and Emily sitting around playing a flute by herself. What a great and revealing portrait of these characters.
So Ji actually waits until the Nighloks attack before sending a message for the other Samurai to come join the team. This scene is just dumb if you think about it. These are Rangers who have trained their entire lives for this. There's no surprise. Ji already knows all of their parents, who were presumably Power Rangers themselves. Why didn't he call them a long time ago? Or even right after the battle in the opening scene? And the way he alerts them with magic arrows (which risked revealing their identities, and even nearly KILLED Mike) was stupid as well. So much better than picking up a cell phone.
The Rangers immediately know what to do when they see the arrows, since as I said before, none of this is a surprise. This is where I think Samurai really shot itself in the foot. There's no sense of excitement or wonder at the fact that these characters have been chosen to be Power Rangers. They're all very blasé about it. These characters aren't discovering a whole new world of ideas along with the audience. They're already way ahead of you, the viewer. A black SUV comes by to pick Mia up. This could've been a cool scene, with Mia encountering mysterious members of a samurai secret society. But we don't even SEE the driver. Nor does the episode even ask the question of who that is. I presume it's her daddy. That's about as good a guess as I can make. At least Mia got a ride though. We're to believe that the others (especially Emily, who doesn't live in the city but in FARM country) just picked up their things and walked there. Getting to their destination within at most a few minutes, not long after the monster attack started.
The way Jayden summoned a horse to ride to the battle just jumped out at me. In a way it makes sense, since the logistics of how this team of Rangers (who don't have teleportation, or even cars) travels around the city is a big question mark. On the other hand, it came across as a bit goofy as well. And of course we never see Jayden doing that again, in later episodes. Get the feeling that they ripped that straight out of the Sentai, or at best were trying to boost Jayden up as a Mary Sue again? Because they seemed to think that the Red Ranger riding in on horseback would be a grand entrance or something.
The scene where the team meets each other was just painful and awkward. Really, the episode doesn't even bother showing them meeting at a predetermined place. We literally see the Rangers all crossing paths, at the same time. And that whole "Are you the Red Ranger?" thing was just dumb. With five Rangers on the team, why would you assume right away that ANYONE is the Red Ranger? Especially if he's wearing a blue shirt? The acting was terrible, and the lines were completely lacking in subtlety. Except for that part where Kevin paused to think about the life he was leaving behind, before saying that he would join the team "without hesitation." Otherwise it was just Jayden Sue acting like the big hero in charge, while everyone else stated their desire to fall in line behind him.
So we get the fight, which is all Sentai and extremely decompressed. We see each of the Rangers' morphing sequences one by one, as well as their individual weapon intros. Now decompression and toy demos are problems that PR has always had, but my problem is that the fight didn't give us anything else. It was all just taking care of business. That, and boosting Jayden some more. When the Rangers were surrounded by Moogers, Jayden said something about how they'll "do this together"...right before charging ahead to take out the majority of the enemy force by himself.
The monster also grows, not by any external actions on Xandred's part, but because Nighloks apparently have a natural second, giant form. I don't recall if this was stated in previously aired Samurai episodes, but I remember someone on the forums stating that this was ripped straight from the Sentai. Which is stupid, because it locks every episode into doing a Zord fight.
So yeah, the Rangers beat the monster, and they go back to Jayden's house for their big happy friends together, samurai forever moment. There's no cliffhanger, no hooks, and no sense of a greater story. Seriously, this didn't even have to be a two-parter. And oh yeah, I almost forgot. No Bulk and Spike. LOL, I guess we'll have to wait until "Origins, part 2" to see whatever set up they might have actually gotten. Get the sense that these two guys are completely meaningless to the show?
What a minimalist, do-nothing premiere. During the battle, I actually checked the time and thought to myself "Is this over yet?" Samurai is a terrible season, but at least some of its other episodes have had a fun, upbeat energy in their crappiness. This episode was just boring. I'll give it a 4/10.

The logic was that these are specials about their Origins, it was always their plan and also proven by RPM's opening... albeit they're doing it another way. Also, any publicity is good publicity - even confusion over episodes, it makes people talk more and want to watch to see what's coming - it's a brilliant strategy. You need to think as a business person or someone who works for a TV network, not a fan.

LMAO, I thought these same things when watching the episode. I can understand how most of them arrived at the same time, but Emily? We're supposed to believe Mike sprinting through the city and Emily leisurely walking through what appears to be a far off farm are supposed to arrive at the same time?

Haha, now it's a calculated business strategy to air the third episode as the premiere, and thus turn off and confuse the hell out of kids and nostalgic returning fans alike. Kids still haven't been told WHO Bulk and Spike are. Fact is that Samurai is a terribly made show.

Don't most business people and people who work on TV start with episode one?

More like it's just plain stupid.
We'll see how "brilliant" it was once ratings come in later this week, but with Samurai ratings currently tanking and the episode receiving hardly any special promotion, I'd bet ratings aren't too high. Which would mean their calculated business plan didn't work and we all sat missing out on the Origins for no reason at all.
Hey, at least this will hopefully teach them a lesson.

Wow... So because you dislike it makes it factually wrong that they decided purposefully to air it in that place? The promos, Felix and Hector confirm/ed it. Rangermon, everyone is aware that SOMEBODY behind the scenes made the decision to air "The Team Unites" as the premiere. What people aren't buying is your total apologism. Calling it a "brilliant strategy," and excusing this nonsense because of the lame old "any publicity is good publicity" mentality. No, you make a crappy show and you turn people off. Especially if the show sucks because it specifically doesn't give itself a proper introduction.
And I see you once again falling back to the tired line about how "the show isn't made for us." Of course it isn't. Neither were previous seasons of PR. Samurai sucks by the already relaxed standards set by normal PR.

My (late) live post...
-Ji has to introduce Jayden to... Moogers?
-Instrumental theme is quite nice, and I have to say I like Jayden's solo fight.
-However, going straight from the Instrumental Theme to the OP is kinda... awkward?
-And further evidence that Octoroo is the leader... "Barnacle of a Boss"?
-And he just lampshaded the fact that Xandred's mouth barely moves...
-Haven't we seen this flashback before?
-Oh Alex, how greatly your acting has improved.
-So Mia just abandoned the kids she was watching without even getting another adult?
-Did Kevin just really flag down the Shiba SUV?
-Ahh, poor Jayden... his lines are so forced...
-Some of these lines were better out-of-context
-Did they really feel the need to change clothes before saving the city?
-Overall, the fight scene is pretty good... Minus all of the horrible puns. Rangers, just stop talking.
-Now that whole "Mega Monster" explanation would have been helpful to know.
-I was worried for a moment they would do a full zord summoning sequence. But it was semi-split-screened
-Isn't "Dragon Splash" the name of Kevin's spin-sword technique?
-And Pentagonal Fury? Really?
I'm trying to give this episode the benefit of the doubt as it was supposed to be the first... But I'm going with an "OK".

Oddly enough, this was one of the best episodes of Samurai but one of the worst introduction episodes EVER. This episode was so rushed it didn't make any sense. How in the world did all of the rangers end up in training uniform? Why did they only show Kevin's dad? A lot of things went wrong.

Haha, I love how overwhelmed they were by the Zords' lousy theme. It's a rather cool looking attack where Jayden's Zord becomes a flaming missile of death, but all they can think about is the stupid folding shapes.
Does anyone know how the Shinkenger and Samurai Zord toys have sold? Because I still can't believe that a show as focused on toy sales as Sentai/PR would produce such ugly, bland, and uncool Zords. Toy dinosaurs are cool. Toy box things are not.

Great Premiere for PR Samurai !!!
The Prologue as show.
Ji introduce Mooger Red ranger and help him.
Jayden vs Moogers really cool great battle between Red Ranger vs Moogers and with the intrumental theme make really perfect scene with great elements.
New Opening honesty i really liked much with that without Bulk and Spike there.
The debut o the Nighloks as cool see Octoroo asks about Master Xandred and the changes of humor of him as cool and themonster debut looks cool.
Kevin's and father and gives Kevin the Blue origami,It is Kevin's destiny to join the Power Rangers,Mia plays in the orphanage with the chldren,Kevin as fun at the arcade with is friends, and Emily plays flute outside of her house, really great scenes with the theme of Emily inthe Background.
Ji gives the Morphers to Jayden for he goes to encounter the others Samurai Rangers.
The Arrows for the Samurai Calling as cool.
They all together looking for the Red ranger as cool an for they accepted the Samurai path and becames the Samurai Power Rangers.
Jayden in the Horse to make a entrance moe dramatic.
The Rangers Morph is cool and the Theme playing as awesome.
Agresssive Jayden when battles the Nighlok dont mess with Red Samurai Ranger.
Samurai Rangers ue there Samurai weapons and the Battles between Samurai Rangers and the Moogers are awesome.
The Megamode explanation as cool an even Jayden explain the Nighloks have two forms.
The Zord Battle is pretty awesome i always liked much of individual Zord fights aganst the Nighlok.
The Final Scene as pretty awesome the Samurai Power Rangers accepted there Roles as Rangers and the Great quote "Rangers Together,Samurai Forever".
This is the Real Premiere of the Power Rangers Samurai and as should been show up when PR Samurai started and not the "The Team Unites" this premiere give to as the proper scenario for the Villans and the Rangers but we dont even have yet Bulk and Spike fo shore they will go be show in "Samurai Origins" Pt II and is just for me or we heard at least 4 times the theme of Samurai in "Samurai Origins" and this epsiode is really Perfect for Power Rangers returns since of "The End of the MMPRv2", now lets wait for the Second Part of the "Samurai Origins", and the episode should by in HD i hope the Next should by in HD.

What a surprise another bad copy:
+:
-I like the flashback with the ancient samurai ranger
-At least we have a real 1st episode
-Wow Ji was a mentor before being a useless character
-When you cut the sound you can appreciate the amazing Shinkenger fight scene without the pun
-:
-The first scene look like a fan made when someone made a video with scenes from shinkenger and put the MMPR theme in the background.
-"Let's Do this together" and then Jayden fight alone....--'
-Too long morph sequence.
-Wow we need a Mega mode to fight the mega monster....thats their explanation
-As much as i hate Spike i wanted to know why he is with Bulk.
-Ok even with origins we know nothing about the rangers.
-Saban if you don't want the lord thing cut the scene where "Kevin" kneels down in front of Jayden
-Ok everyone know who you are Samurai rangers. Next time if you want to be discrete don't claim "We are the samurai ranger", don't use a horse, and don't morph in front of everyone. Seriously an american samurai who ride a horse and have a team with karate clothes.
-The episode made me realize Alex's acting improved

This obviously would have been better if is was actually shown as the first episode. I blame Nick for this. I'm upset that they didn't even do anything special to it as long as they have held on to these two episodes. They could have even done the Origin special almost like a flashback. But anyways. This episode answers some questions an leaves me with others.
I completely understand Kevin's character now. I get why he's Jayden's 2nd biggest cheerleader (2nd to Ji obviously). It was all his dad's fault. Kevin's dad is the only parent that actually prepared him for what he's getting into. From what we know: Emily fell into this life because of her sister. Mike is playing video games and they have built the theme that Mike wasn't really serious about his training. and Mia's playing with kids, being a bad chef, and hoping for prince charming. Kevin seemed like the only one of 4 ofthem that kind of had a clue.
Now for the question's:
1. Why was Jayden on a horse? I mean Mia got a Escalade, Kevin ran from the pool, Mike ran from the arcade, and Emily ran from the farm (sidebar question: how far is the farm from... whatever city their in? sidebar question: what city ARE they in?) Ji even has a motorcycle. At first I thought they only did it to match footage, but they didn't even show anything shinkenger related with a horse. If your "symbol powering" up random things, they could at least symbol power a bike/seasonal vehicle or teleport or something. but a horse. Very Nick/Catastros and already been done.
2. Why was Jayden destroying the city and being so reckless. He did more damage to the city than skirtface. Sliced up a car and almost sliced a pillar for a highway. and almost took off the heads of his "team."
3. Why did they change from their civilian clothes to training gear just to morph? One scene their in there regular clothes, then the very next scene they show up in their training gear. They could have at least pulled a Ninja Storm or put in another scene or commercial. But I digress.

I don't know why most people in this fandom even bother rating episodes. They just click "Awesome" or "10/10" for any new episode they get. If we're to believe the majority of the voters, this show is perfect and constantly achieving new levels of awesome.
Of course, the people who vote that way aren't the same people who can actually articulate what they did or did not like about the show.

I combined a few of the scenes for this clip. The introduction feels rather rushed but still decent. The dialogue and acting is overdramatic. "Are you the Red Ranger?" Come on, that was not necessary. Wasted potential on this scene. I wonder if Saban is interested in better writers. :)

If your "symbol powering" up random things, they could at least symbol power a bike/seasonal vehicle or teleport or something. but a horse. Very Nick/Catastros and already been done.
3. Why did they change from their civilian clothes to training gear just to morph? One scene their in there regular clothes, then the very next scene they show up in their training gear. They could have at least pulled a Ninja Storm or put in another scene or commercial. But I digress.1. Because Takeru was, in Shinkenger.
3. Because Shinkenger did it too. Doesn't make sense without the Kuroko though. One translation too far.

I voted awesome for this episode. I really loved the first scene with Jayden. And the flute music was awinspiring. I too did notice the driver in the suv, slightly. At least someone is driving the car. FYI the Kuroko is just for shinkenger.

I still hold to the belief that they're all damaged by the upbringing they received from their cult-like parents. These are teenagers or young adults who act like children. Who chase ice cream trucks. Who have no problem with the idea that they're never supposed to talk to their friends again. And while most of the team isn't as open about their dedication to the Samurai lifestyle as Jayden and Kevin, the show implies that they've all been training for years.
Emily is incredibly meek and passive, while Mia only talks about cooking and homemaking. I think that their parents enforced obedience, and taught them to behave and know their place. Like good, traditional Japanese women. Never mind that Emily is white, this show is just terrible like that.
On the surface, Mike seems kind of hard to explain. "Forest For the Trees" may have tried portray him as disobedient, even though he really isn't. While Mike seems like a more well adjusted, easygoing jokester than the others, he is serious about his training. He wants to become as good as Jayden is. But what about his friends and gaming hobby? Think about it, gamers tend to be geeks. And geeks include many people who like to (or are only capable of) spending their time alone or with small groups of likeminded people. I wouldn't be surprised if Mike didn't have any friends beyond those two guys in the arcade.

Yawnfest. I expected nothing less from this origin episode.
Nick could have aired this before "The Team Unites" and we wouldn't have much difference in show quality.

The people who are giving this the Awesome, Good and Ok. Seriously, this is how low the fandom has stooped to?
First why is it wrong for them to like the episode? Two why are you judgeing the entirety of the fandom on one message board let alone the internet.
Anyway this was ok for me. Not as bad as I expected but still some problems. The acting in this episode was pretty bad but this is the first episode. The villain scene was a waste, the whole Red Ranger thing was awkard after the Kevin/Mia interaction. Jii is Jii. No changing that. THis really should have been aired first but it really hasn't affected the shows popularity any.
Jayden still comes off as a very good Red Ranger and his differnces from Takeru are welcome. He's unsure of himself but realizes he can't do it alone but still doesn't want to get regular people into danger.
Overall just ok. I'm still not happy the story had to be put on hold for this though.

After watching this I can safely say that there was absolutely NO reason to have held it off. It's painfully obvious that they had always meant for this to be the first episode, and trying to spin it as a 2 parter is just stupid. There weren't any loose ends to tie up!
It's also ridiculously easy to tell the Shinken hacked parts. Just like the promo showed, they have the stupid scene where Jayden says they can do it together, and then charges in alone while forcing the others to duck out of the way. Also, after the ground fight there was the bit where Kevin was kneeling to Jayden. Non issue in Japan, in America though...
The episode itself isn't too bad. Probably one of the better episodes of the season, but it was not worth the wait.

I liked Jayden riding in on a horse. They're freaking SAMURAI, so why shouldn't their leader ride in all heroically on a white horse? Also, am I one of the few people wondering who the heck THESE Samurai Rangers are, and what happens between here and TTU to give us the thin-personalitied versions we wound up with? These Samurai Rangers have personalities, Jayden's far better here than he's been in other episodes, and Ji (who, miracle of miracles, is actually CALLED Ji here) is acting like a real mentor and trainer.

Clearly the next episode will feature Jii going crazy and brainwashing them.
As I was re-watching FD's clip, I noticed something. Not only do the Rangers magically change their clothes, but Emily apparently has a magic backpack!
Here, Emily leaves the farm with a backpack. Why does she take a backpack while the others show up with nothing? Who knows, maybe because Shinkenger Yellow had a backpack.
http://i52.tinypic.com/2uojkva.png
Here, Emily meets the other Rangers, but it seems her backpack has gone missing!
http://i52.tinypic.com/2ltjy8n.png
But a few seconds later when Mike shows up, her backpack has safely returned!
http://i54.tinypic.com/331h9bt.png
How did the production staff forget her backpack, but then remember to put it back on her a few seconds later? Beyond me. Symbol power probably.
Also, am I one of the few people wondering who the heck THESE Samurai Rangers are, and what happens between here and TTU to give us the thin-personalitied versions we wound up with?
Not so sure about that. They still seemed pretty bland and robotic today. We're through half a season and a scarecrow still has more personality than Mia.

The only things I really have to say about this episode - other than that I liked it a lot - are 1) it helped me realize that the problems I had with Nick's decision not to give us a proper premiere to the season had less to do with the decision itself and more with the episode they elected to premiere the season with; and 2) if you switch Deal with a Nighlok and The Team Unites around, chronologically, Origins - despite not being written as such - can function quite well as a 'contextual' episode by showing us things that we didn't get to see previously, in much the same fashion as BSG's Razor and The Plan.

The Villan scene as quite funny because Master Xandred think he have been defeated the Samurai rangers and in the Finale he as the One who as been defeated and the dialogue as funny Dayu "We understand, you miss him" ro Octoroo.
Rangers interectaion about who is the Red Ranger this kind ironic Kevin think Mia as the Red Ranger the "Big Secret Behind the Curtain" If this episode as Show up as "Samurai Premiere" dont be any problem for shore the "The Team Unites" as much more show for they sell more torys and have the Proper scenario ready when the Season will Starts and will be a great transition between Disney to Saban between the end of the MMPRv2 and the Starts of PR Samurai.
Jayden is for shore a good red ranger he conserns more is team that Takeru does in Shinkenger because some footage from Shinkenger is not fit in Jayden personality because is more carry about is team even in the Battlefield and off course they have to defeated the Nighloks even if they have to put people in Danger to save them we see much Red Agreesive Ranger.

What if THAT was the reason for postponing the Origins episode? Maybe during filming of the first episode, someone messed up the recording of the episode so Saban was forced to move the Origins episode to the end of the first half of Samurai, and move the episode "The Team Unites" up, resulting in it being the season's premiere episode.

I don't see why people make such a big deal out of this line, which has been happening ever since the preview clip came out. I don't think he meant the five of them should hold hands and run off together into battle - he meant by working together as a team, they can be successful, as they were once the other four picked themselves up off the ground and charged their own weapons ;)

It wouldn't have mattered nearly as much with regards to MMPR S1 because the entire season was effectively comprised of stand-alones, with only a bare smattering of serialization scattered throughout. I said this earlier, but Origins made me realize that, in the case of Samurai, it isn't/wasn't so much that Nick and/or Saban chose not to give us a proper premiere as it is/was that they made the wrong choice in which episode to air/produce first.

I finally got a chance to watch "Origins Part 1" today, and it is just as average as I thought it was going to be, but it did at least move at a fast pace. This premiere felt just like a pilot to me because this was full of action with as little expostion as possible, everything in here was short on the details but with just enough minimal information to know the characters, and the plot with just enough room to change them in future episodes. Out of all of the episodes of "PRSamurai" this one is the absolute closes to it's "Shinkenger" episode (Which is not saying much because most of the others have been scene by scene remakes of "Shinkenger") which did not go to it's advantage here because it also is what gives all of the small changes they made to this version feel out of place.
One of my biggest problem with this season did kinda get resolved in this episode but not in the way I thought it should of been (Which is that these "Gaijin" are supposed to be "Samurai" who's bloodline originated from japan in this high ranking warrior class), which is when "Ji" said to "Jayden" that he "Grown to be a master Samurai". The reason I say it answered my question is because that line of dialogue sounded out of place with the word "Samurai" in it like it was a recent script change, that I bet in another draft they originally had another line for "Ji" to say that would hopefully been better at making the "Samurai" genre of the "Shinkenger" elements fit with the added original elements of this "American" remake (Sometimes it just a small detail said in dialogue all the time). They way "Ji" said that line of dialogue it sounded like he was originally going to say "Grown To be a master of Busido" which would make more sense because the inherted elements from "Shinkenger" that they are using for this group of "Rangers" make little sense for all them instead of just "Mia", like all of them having "Japanese" ancestry within that warrior class, and call themselves "Samurai" although all of them except "Mia" would basically be "Pseudo-Samurai".
With all that said I give it 3 out 5 it could have been better but could have been worse.

If the Samurai Origins as been show up when the Samurai Premiere it as been a really much awesome return to the Power Rangers, because they use the "The Team Unites" more to promote the "New Season" but more to sell toys Bandai want to sell toys, The Megamode,Samurai Megazord and others franchise of the PR Samurai as more used for that.

Double-header! Just watched "The Ultimate Duel" and now get to watch this! *Fingers Crossed*
Kid seems kinda old for hide and seek, doesn't he?
Oh hey, narrator guy again! And... for the purpose of the lazy Japanese translation too! I think this episode really was made before the others!
Soooooo.... the Shinkenger footage doesn't have ANY resemblance to the American footage... great adaptation work guys!
Jayden's retort is SOOOOOO lame compared with Takeru's jesting in Act 1... OK, I'll stop comparing now. It's not badly done. Back to Japanese footage!
Must be awkward stopping the rangers' theme after the fight just to start it again for the credits...
GAH!!! Mentor's... poor... acting!
I like cocky Jayden... why wasn't he like that earlier in the season.
Octoroo rhyming? This WAS supposed to be shown at the beginning of the season!
Sake! *slap!* OK, I'll stop.
Oh god... a crappy MOTW voice.
Why is that monster's voice familiar?
Now we see where Kevin's bad acting came from... is his father an immigrant? His accent is SOOO heavy! And his acting is SOOO bad!
Flute playing ripoff is fail!
Flashback to random dad ranger!
Yay, promo quotes! And bad Mentor acting!
LOL at burger shot! And Emily not being shot in the head like in Shinkenger!
Why is Kevin the only one with a parent figure with him?
Oh hey, that explains our horse symbol power flashback! Yay!
Oh god, they translated THIS scene... winds up being both sexist AND unfunny.
Nice awkward meeting, guys...
Oh, old Jayden's acting... NOT something I missed.
Random outfit change? When did that happen?
Ah yes, I remember this clip... from BEFORE the first episode aired. Come to think of it, this episode reminds me a lot of the early episodes.
Bad car bisection effects!
So Emily's been better than Mia from the start with Zords? No surprise.
Of course, Jayden ends things his way early on.
"We did good." "Such energy, such grace." It's a horrible acting convention! I mean my God, those line reads were atrocious.
Back when he was Ji, not Mentor!
So, my thoughts on this episode? Honestly, it was pretty obvious throughout the episode that this was meant to be aired BEFORE "The Team Unites." The quality of the episode is actually what makes it obvious. The acting is at a much lower level, as are the effects and writing. There were some good moments, but overall I still have to give this a high "poor" rating.

*avoides wedgie* lol
Yes, I know that GokaiGold.
Saw the beginning of the new episode just see what they did with the fight, 1% of that fight was Samurai's because they decided they would put their own clip in which totally knocked the whole fight off ( showing the whole footage isnt theres cause of the colouring being lighter in samurai ( Red does this random kick that isnt in Shinkenger and i have no idea why they put that in there but they did ) hmm they might copy shinkenger 2 but them having a special with part one Orgins ( its more of a Emily episode if they did so would it make sense to call their episode orgins part 2 if they copy episode 2 of shinkenger ?

If you watch it with a mindset that it's a copy of Shinkenger's beginning, of course you'd think it'd suck. If you avoid that thought, it might not be so bad. Just my take on this. Gave it an ok, by the way.

So I haven't actually watched a full episode of Samurai so I'm having a mini-marathon.
-Jayden's serious acting was really bad but not as bad as Kevin's dad. I winced at Kevin's dad.
-The horse entrance... show off. lol
-Villans don't interest me yet.
-Didn't care for the opening scene all that much.
-The rangers are really pretty.
-The dialogue while they were fighting made me laugh for all the wrong reasons.
-The mentor's acting is... meh but thankfully the acting will get a little better.
-The episode felt rushed when it came to the rangers coming together. I would have liked it more if they would have built up each ranger living in their own world's a bit longer before they got smacked with the 'congrats you're a Samurai Ranger' spiel. So far Mike and Kevin are the rangers I like the most.
