I was pretty disappointed with last weeks rushed episode but they definitely made up for it this week. Today's episode was entertaining and had some genuinely funny moments with Bulk and Spike. I also loved the music portion of this episode. I don't know if that was really Steven Skyler's voice or not but if it was then the guy can really sing. Overall, "awesome" episode.

Keep in mind that this was typed as I watched the episode.

Oh my god, Terry is actually pretty cute. Anyone else notice that the openings nowadays are based around Mike. I’m getting tired of all of the “Mia can’t cook” jokes. Huh. I didn’t peg him to have an accent. Emily’s lines are still bothering me. That was a ice transition though. Oh my GOD! That’s too many school puns! Ok, so Kevin and Mia BOTH went to get groceries, but only KEVIN got back in time? How does that make sense.

Mia could’ve delivered those lines better. I loved her facial expressions when Antonio got excited about meeting Mia’s brother though. Terry and Mia actually kinda look alike. I’m still loving Antonio’s fish shaped guitar. And I’m REALLY tired of the Gold puns as well.

At least we finally have another Bulk and Spike scene. The parts where Felix doesn’t talk in a nasally voice, I like better. Ok, I cracked up during the music scene. I loved the techno “no pocket for my pants” part. That was really good. I can already tell, I’m going to have this song stuck in my head all day.

Finally!! At least we get a little bit of interaction with Bulk, Spike, and a Ranger. It was short, but I hope can see more of this later. I wonder if they’ll bring up Spike’s crush on the Pink Ranger again. I did like that instantaneous morph though.

[Second commercial break thoughts: So far, this episode is lackluster for me. It’s not that great. It just keeps jumping back and forth between plots and it’s not done in a really smooth way.]

Serrator is a great villain. The person they choice to do the voice for him was great. Erika’s voice overs have gotten better as well. I’m glad they’re showing Mia’s fight against Serrator. I hope Mia goes into Shogun Mode as well. I’m so tired of hearing “Super” as well, but I doubt we’d get away from it. She could’ve done her voice overs for her “Super” attacks, better though. It just sounded really boring. Do they REALLY still have to explain everything they’re going to do?

Antonio just needs to stop talking. His “Fight fire with fire” line really made me cringe. And, aw, I was hoping we’d get to see Mia go into Shogun Mode. There almost wasn’t a point for the fight. I loved the part where Mike was teaching Kevin how to dance. I loved the rap so much! That was awesome! And I love the song. It’s going to be stuck in my head for a LONG time!

For a Mia focus episode, I wouldn’t say she’s grown as a character at all, really. She just acted like her mom. I mean, duh, she’s the “mother figure” of the group.

I give this a 3.5/5

Yes it's his real voice. He is a singer you can found some songs on youtube and he prepare an album. But i'm not sure about Erika.

It was Steven Skyler voice, And the episode was really good and like the music portions and also the Techno song from Spike :D, Mia voice singing sounds like it was fixed so she can have a good singing voice

Wow. That actually didn't suck. It took the Sentai episode and made changes that mattered to our characters and wasn't a total translation. Good on you, Super Samurai.

Spike actually spoke with a Ranger in human form no less...bout time there was some form of interaction...hopefully it won't be a one time event...I wouldn't mind knowing that Bulk and Spike actually exist in the same world as the Rangers...

This was actually a pretty good episode. Probably the best one yet since 'Deal With A Nighlok' from over a year ago.

--Terry instantly gets my approval by taking some well-deserved cheap shots at Ji. Although his accent was very hard to understand at times.
--Mia-Spike shipping begins. But just remember when they actually get together at the end of the season, I called it long ago.
--Bulk & Spike doing what appeared to be a spinoff of Daft Punk was actually pretty funny.
--Serrator got the middle finger today. What a weak imbecile he looked like. Him & his "last chance scheme" got pulverized by Mia in a matter of seconds.

This was no doubt one of Samurai's better episodes, and definitely one of its Top 3 episodes so far. Mia actually seemed like a normal person today, and not just some robotic alien who's only programmed to be the host of bad cooking jokes. It also showed us that the Rangers do indeed have lives outside of their Ranger duties: Mia's backstory, Antonio's secret passion for performing, etc. And that's what these Rangers needed more of: more personality, more things so they can become relatable. But one episode won't cut it. This is what Samurai needed more of all season long, and it's one reason why today's episode was pretty good.

I guess I was wrong, Samurai pink didn't use the shogun belt what a shame. But at least she used the black box. Mia and Antonio's singing was great. Despite not seeing Shogun pink, I still ranked this episode awesome. I still enjoyed watching it nonetheless.

^Speaking of the Shogun Mode, Jayden uses the Bull Zord finisher today, but no Shogun Mode is needed to perform it. Which brings into question what exactly the purpose of the Shogun Mode is.

I absolutely loved today's episode. It seems to be getting better and better as it progresses. That's how I like my shows though, improving along the way towards the end. I actually really enjoyed Mia this episode. She seemed more than a one note character. And the Mike/Kevin bond was ignited again. haha I see fanfic popping up all ready. Another note about today's episode, it was definitely more of a homage to the MMPR I love and know. The non-morphed/morphed scenes were more 50/50 than prior episodes. Overall, I give it a solid A.

It was an ok episode for me. The song was good. Nice to have a ranger talk to Spike, though not much was said. It seemed weird that right before the battle, Mia was probably going to accept her brother, but right after not do that. Glad to know that not even Mia's family can stand her cooking. Also, Mentor did hardly anything today and Terry thinks he's cool.

This is a good point. I was hoping we would've seen Mia in Shogun Mode. It doesn't seem like you really do anything in the Shogun Mode anyway. I mean, Jayden just used it for the finisher move in the previous episode. I doubt it really does more than that. But, we'll see.

Ahhhh! Best episode ever! This is my most favorite episode of all! MY LIKES AND DISLIKES COLUMN:

Likes:
-Terry (So cute!)
-The episode itself, such a nice sister brother bonding
-Antonio's Guitar
-THE SONG! My favorite song ever!!
-The med school thing (typical Asian dream)
-Spike saying Mia's pretty and giving her the flyer. Aw :)
-That this episode was not just about the Nighlok for once
-The school puns. LOL
-The ending, so cute!
-Mia's facial expression with Antonio
-Mia and Antonio's voice

Dislikes:
-Long commercials, as always
-Doubled annoyed with Emily :P I also hated how they would just leave her there and go to the concert. Yeah, true friendship right there.

OVERALL, this episode was the best! It's beyond Power Rangers now, it's about their lives and stuff. Although, I wouldn't have thought that Terry would have an accent, let alone being named "Terry". But anyways, this episode was AWESOME with a capital A! I hope they make more episodes like this

I give it an OK, and that is purely based off of the fact it wasnt a complete Sentai rip off.

-Mia's brother was pretty cool. However my beef with him is this: In the first episode, Mike gets lectured on staying away from family and friends while being a Ranger, hopwever, Emily can keep contact with her sister, and Mia's brother can show up at the Shiba house? If Ji was the hard *** Mentor he should be; he would have had Terry leave, OR Mia would have reminded him of the rule.

-Finally, a girl can use Super Samurai mode. And it was a nice, quick, and easy attack on Serrator.

-Serrator is now the only villain in Samurai/Super Samurai that i actually like. He actually does stuff. Octaroo has gone backwards and reverted into Master Xandred.

-Antonio, and Mia singing. Very nice.

Bulk and Spike. LMFAO at Spike for trying to get tough with the Bikers.

All in all, decent episode. Humorous wit Bulk and Spike, but a nice family ending. 6/10

This was probably Samurai's best episode to date. But there's one small problem: there was a disconnect in the Serrator fight in this episode. It... it just had nothing to do with the plot. Maybe had Serrator kidnapped Terry and his band and held them hostage, it would have been better, but the way it was, you could cut the whole fight out and had the fight at the school been the only action in this episode. Also, is Mia's family british since Terry sounds kinda british, and is it me, or did young Terry look like Theo?

I voted awesome for the 2nd time in 1 years lol:

+:
-Finally an episode about Mia
-Nice american fight scene
-I like Mia's brother
-The song is really catchy and i love Steven's voice
-For once Bulk & Spike make me laugh
-Nice flashback
-Definitly what i want to see in PR: originality (at least for the unmorphed scene), great action, funny moment

-:

-Well Serrator's plan was....well it wasn't a plan for me
-No shogun mode for the finisher. It make this mode more useless than the others lol

This was a good episode in my opinion. It felt like a better version of Turbo... well, at least the first half of it.

Wait, Jayden pilots the Bull Zord, but doens't use Shougn Mode? It kind of remembers me of Lost Galaxy - Leo summons the battleizer and has the Orion armor on during tranformation (well, at least parts of it). However, in at least one LG episode, the other rangers don't use the Lights of Orion, yet he still has parts of the armor on (the battleizer debut episode). Oh, and earlier in that season, it is exlained that all 5 Rangers need to be present to activate the power of the lights. This kind of stuff had no purpose in Lost Galaxy and it doesn't have any purpose here either as the only difference here is that this misstep is more noticable here.

But other than that, the episode was OK, however, it lacked background, thanks to (Super) Samurai being a direct translation of Shinkenger.

Sorry PR, but Shinkenger is in lead right now. Although this was a very nicely done episode AND song.

Rangers meet Terry
Terry know Mia dont know who to cook
Terry wants Ma sing
Rangers vs Moogers
Pink Ranger later to the battle
Antonio wants to know Mia Brother
Terry wants Mia join to the band
Antonio meets Terry
Octoroo warning of Serrator changes are over
Serrator plans next plan
Bulk and Spike want to give up of Samurai Path
Antonio jams with Terry band
Terry invited the Rangers for the concert
Bulk and Spike hired Security
Mia remember of is past
Samurai Rangers flsh morph vs Serrator and Moogers
Samurai Pink vs Serrrator
Super Samurai Pink and cool finish strike
Papyrus monster vs Samurai Megazord,Clawzord and Bull Megazord
Three Finish strikes to destroyed the Moonger and Papyrus
Rangers pratice dance
Mia don want to goes to the concert
Bulk and Spike rap concert
The concert of Terry band

The plot of the episode it as much great the ideia of Mia Brother show up and he wants she goes to sing in the band is cool and see Mia and Antonio singing together it as great,it as great due and well Jayden as pilot the Bullzord and not use the Shogun Mode it as strange unless just use for the Finish strike but eve with that we dont changed to Shogun Mode, rangers going to the concert it as great very cool and Emily it as hot.

Great episode

I can't believe how much I loved this episode. I guess finally getting insight into Mia's backstory was love overdue. And being probably the most original episode of Samurai compared to Shinkenger, I say, Finally!
I don't expect the rest of the season to be like this, but I'll definitely enjoy it when we get it.

Let the Antonio-Mia Shipping Commence (she was wearing Gold today after all)...

Didn't really like her brother... visually he was nice but the accent killed me especially since shouldnt the two of them sound similar? If they're british they should both have an accent unless he was abroad... maybe they should just reverse the Mako storyline and have her family be Australian...

the med school thing seemed especially cliche for the Asian Ranger's brother...

It was a good episode, maybe one of the best, but I couldnt get past Terry's accent and the disconnect with the sentai footage...I almost feel like her other transformation sequence would have fit better despite her extended super attack being more dramatic

^ This.

The fight scene with Serrator didn't flow with the rest of the episode. It was just there. Although, I am happy that Mia was able to go into Super Mode in this episode. And her voice over while she was attacking Serrator in her Super Mode sounded too bland and monotonous.

This is the first episode I've bothered to watch since The Tengen Gate.

*No Villains this episode, thank God

*Nice to see that the Rangers are still shouting out corny catchphrases and puns like one would expect from a toy commercial

*Mia isn't a blank slate, yay!

*I miss Emily's curly hair

*Mia looked hot at the end

*Super Samurai mode just looks stupid

*Mia=Cassie, I wonder if they're related?

*Terry's actor wasn't even bothering trying to hide the Kiwi accent

*Bulk and Spike actually interact with a Ranger!

*I guess Mia is Antonio's hag now?

*It was nice to see Samurai essentially create its own plot. The only similarities being that The episode was Pink centered and introduced a relative.

*If every episode was like this, Samurai would be a lot better.

all right if no one is going to point this out i will i really liked this episode except for the interactions between Mia and terry this is not the way a brother and sister should act in my mind having a younger sibling myself I know the difference between tough love and just being a jerk if Mia had just asked her brother what was going on she could have spared herself a lot of internal grief hell the episode points out this flaw at the very end and really what is so bad about having a hobby? If he said "I'm quitting medical school to be a rock Star" then Mia's attitude would have been more believable but all she had to do was ask or take a closer look at the flyer to know what was going on

It's really catchy, I'll give them that. I was glad that Steven got the chance to show off his musical talents. Mia's voice just bothered me in that clip, so much. (I'm not even sure it was her, or if she was just singing in a high pitch.) The lyrics were great and straight forward. But, I thought the title was going to be "Let's Make This Party Last" and not "Everyday Fun."

^Correct. But I think some of us are just looking to fanonize (is that the right term?) a name for ourselves. Rosehill doesn't sound bad, but like all the other options we've had so far, it's a stretch. Just because they're raising money for the Rosehill Hospital doesn't necessarily mean they live in Rosehill. But it might be the best option we've heard yet.

at least the name doesnt sound that bad.

and back to the episode overall...

it was good but for once i feel like they should have based the episode a little more around the sentai at least for the fights. upon a rewatch the splicing of footage is worse than i thought... mia being late in the first fight scene makes no sense because Kevin was supposed to be shopping with her... antonio randomly coming along makes sense because hes been alone a lot lately.

now this is how you mix destiny and duty with the mighty morphin morals

The Mia backstory for this episode is good but comes another thing to mind,"The Team Untes" Jayden dont tell the others they can have connected with there familiys or relatives but find the logical there families know they are Power Rangers.

Next Week episode will be the Debut of the Samurai Gigazord that will be great and this episode feels much be a filler episode for Super Samurai.

You people need better standards, seriously. This was a better episode of Super Samurai but amazing is blowing it out of proportion. The singing was very pre-recorded and low level audio. There was nothing rock or powerful about it. It's a shame that they really didn't give Steven his due by limiting the scope of what could have been done.

Why do I feel like Disney is the one running things for this entire season? I think there are too many Disney hands left in the Saban pot. Mia's brother does not have a British accent, it's blatantly Kiwi trying to sound American. The characters do show more personality this ep, mainly Antonio and Mia because they aren't shoehorned into the idiot dolt and the cardboard cutout role they're usually given. I think aside from having bad actors, the script writing and the directing is the bigger issue in how the actors portray their roles.

I don't want to take away anyones' enjoyment of the episode, but I honestly feel like I have amnesia after watching the episode because the music is the only part I remember. Even soap operas are more believable than what goes on with this show. The season should have died a long time ago and there isn't much that will save the overall story arc. This feels nothing like Saban at all because everything is so sterile and lacks essence.

Just anytime a tv show or film features someone singing at a concert it will be pre-recorded. So moot point.

Because they're not?

I'm aware that things are pre-recorded, but there are several ways to improve the audio sampling to give it a live feel. Glee is just as bad in many respects, but they do a better job with it. You may think Disney had no hand since Saban took over, but I guarantee you several people from Disney were mostly likely carried over.

^ er not really. I mean Amit is there, and he got his start on Wild Force which was a Disney season. But Tzachor who's the main reason Samurai has been so...not good got his start from Saban. And none of the writers are carry-overs from Disney. So way to not know what you're talking about

Sadly, I actually prefer Disney's creative handling of Power Rangers over what we've gotten on Samurai.
Yes, Nickelodeon's done a much better job marketing the show, but creatively and with casting, I think Disney did a better job than this Saban II/Nickelodeon era of PR.

This episode was pretty good. Like the song its kinda stuck in my head. The fight scene was cool and was hoping to see Shogun Pink but that didn't happen. At least Super Pink was shown.

This episode wasn't perfect, but it was one of the best Samurai episodes so far. It was just had so many things that we haven't been getting from this season.

The episode opens by introducing us to Mia's broter Terry, who's in town during summer break. It's so nice to actually be reminded that these people had relatives and lives. Most episodes also don't bother setting themselves at any definite point in the timeline, so it's interesting that an entire half year passed in the handful of episodes between "Christmas Together," and this episode. Terry's doing two things for the summer by volunteering at the children's hospital as well as playing with his rock band.

Things are interrupted when a bunch of Moogers attack a school. I felt like this part kind of went overboard with the puns, which got distracting after a while. Also, even though both Kevin an Mia were said to be out shopping together, Kevin is strangely at his fight while Mia arrived late after everything was already wrapped up.

Mia finally meets up with her brother again. Just like her parents, she disapproves of him doing ANYTHING with his time other than focusing on getting into med school. It's stupid and makes no sense, especially when Terry said himself that he was volunteering at a hospital (a fact that everyone should've brought up, but didn't)...but I found this part to be VERY true to life. From my own personal experience, Asian parents focus on academic and professional achievement to the exclusion of everything else. Forget hobbies, athletics, friends, or dating; your only purpose in life is to study and get a good high paying job. Studying is supposedly the only way to succeed in life, even if things like developing personal connections and social skills are actually helpful in achieving success.

I liked this story not only because it reflected real life, but because it somewhat touched on the flaws of Mia's character. Fans have already gone over how brainwashed she seems to be with traditional gender roles and family life. Mia unquestioningly takes her parents view on things, scolding Terry for daring to do anything other than get into med school. That scene of her in the park remembering happier times in their childhood, before the two of them were completely consumed with their work, suggests that some cracks are forming in the way she sees things. But subtly suggesting is all this episode really does. It just touches on this without really scratching the surface. Mia's character issues aren't really explored in the open, and addressed in the course of the story.

Somewhere in this episode, the villains popped up. Xandred is still his useless self, sitting on the floor and sipping his "medicine" just like Octoroo tells him to. Serrator's there looking scary. God, why isn't HE the big bad of the season? Octoroo acts like more of a big bad than Xandred does, with the way he assertively interacts with Serrator. Anyway, Serrator says that he'll go up to fight the Rangers without any distinctive plan. This is one Samurai episode that somewhat neglects the action and villain plot for once, for the benefit of the Rangers' personal story. And while the show shouldn't make it a habit to downplay the Power Ranger aspect, these brief breaks from the formula are welcome in my opinion. Even more so in an episode as excessively formulaic and constrained as Samurai is.

Bulk and Spike showed up as well. As usual I didn't like some of Bulk's excessive stupidty, or most of Spike's one-note acting. But this time their comedic scenes actually consisted of something more than being splattered with something, or falling down. They actually got to do impressions, or stupidly get themselves involved with a biker gang. The biker gang subplot really went nowhere. One of the thugs speaks into the ear of another before taking Bulk's paltry five dollar payment, suggesting that they have a scheme in mind. Yet they bothered to show up at the end just to...push Bulk and Spike for no reason? It wasn't anything brilliant, but it's just so nice just to see something DIFFERENT from this season.

Also different was the way that Kevin was acting. Actually having fun and playing around with the others, instead of making a show of how dedicated he was to the Samurai lifestyle. If only the rest of this season wasn't an unthinking translation of Shinkenger.

The concert scene at the end was actually pretty competent, with some good music. I liked how Mia showed up to support her brother on stage like that. I just wish that she wasn't won over because she found out that the concert was performed as charity for the same hospital that he was volunteering at. Terry shouldn't have had to justify himself like that. The story should've been resolved with Mia realizing that you can work hard and STILL find time to have a life and do other things. As I said above, this episode touches on some of Mia (and this season's) issues, but doesn't go far enough in addressing them.

This episode had a few of the usual flaws, and the story wasn't properly wrapped up IMO. But it was so different, and so much better than what we've gotten on most weeks. There was actually fun, liveliness, and personal aspects to this episode.

Rating: 7/10

I thought this was one of the best episodes, and I liked Mia's having an actual personality for a while there. And both songs were cool: I thought Spikey-Spike and Bull's was funny, and the song with Terry was surprisingly good

My favorite part is when Mike's holding Kevin around the neck, cheering for Antonia and Mia! :samuraigold:

Huh, can't believe it took me this long to realized that if something had happen to Mia in the past, Terry would have been our very first male Pink Ranger. That's kinda neat.

^ I would've enjoyed that twist. My first (and only) fanfic featured a male Pink Ranger.

I liked the actor that played Terry. It's pretty sad when you get better vibes from the supporting cast than the primary ones.

Okay so I just watched Mia's new episode and I thought it was awful. It is well and good that power rangers does it own thing but to choose to do this with such a pivotal episode was just stupid. Not only that, they completely forgot about the lesson Mike learned in The Team Unites. The Samurai, supposedly, turns their back on their personal lives so their loved ones won't get hurt. Mia's brother, apparently too high during his sister's Samurai lessons to learn this, just waltzes into the mansion like it is an everyday thing and the most laughable thing is no one calls him on it. Ji just smiles in the background like a goofy idiot.

And what is even more absurd, the Nighlok didn't capitalize on this situation.

^

If there Familys knows about they are Samurai Power Rangers dont have much problems for them but could by a card for the Villans use in there advantaged for example in the care of Terry Serrator could take him and use him as hostage make the Rangers in dificult situation,Serrator could attack the Mia brother concert that could by a use plot for Super Samurai, the Lesson they learn with Mike in "The Team Unites" could by diferent in the case if the family knows about there are rangers.

^^Here's why I don't see it as different. Family member or friend, knowing about the situation or not won't get them any less hurt or killed if the Nighlok remembered they were the villains this episode and attacked during that concert. All it took is for one to observe the rangers in the concert, attack, and boom innocents hurt because Terry and none of the Rangers followed protocol.

If the Nighloks attacks the Familys, friends or innocents inthis episode if There familys know about there rangers path well we can consider the Nighloks could attack there familys instead of been sow focus in destroy the Rangers.

This has been one of my favorite PR Samurai episodes. I really enjoyed seeing Mia's backstory with her brother, and I really enjoyed that their was hardly any fighting in this episode. Bulk and Spike were hilarious and it was nice seeing them interact with one of the rangers. This episode made me love Antonio, I used to find him incredibly annoying but after watching this episode I totally love him now, besides the focus being on the rangers acting like normal human beings Antonio really came into character here for me. So what if the fighting didn't make sense or the storyline, it was one of the better episodes of the season thus far, it wasn't a carbon-copy of Shrinkenger it was fun and enjoyable. Maybe my passive-aggressive nature allows me to over look all the flaws and just take things as it is.

Really glad this was a fun episode instead of a melodrama with Mia and her father. Good call in giving Mia a brother since Mako didn't have any siblings.
