Season Summary

Go-onger is the thirty-second installment of the Super Sentai Franchise. Go-onger is the first Sentai to have seven regular members on the team (Dekaranger had six regular members with Deka Master only coming to help every once in a while) and the first Sentai have a twelve piece Gattai. Go-onger is also the first Sentai to a have female Sixth in the form of Miu/Go-on Silver, who came along as a “bonus” along with Hiroto/Go-on Gold And the first Sentai to have a fourth Robo.


Machine World is one of the 11 Braneworlds other than our own, which is referred as the Human World, and it is home to giant vehicular beings called Engines who wage a war against the Gaiark who desire to pollute their world. Losing, Gaiark's three Pollution Ministers' escape leaves them on Earth, seeing the Human World as an easier location to create their ideal paradise. The six Engines manage to pursue them, selecting five humans to become their partners, the Go-ongers. The team are joined by Go-on Wings and their Wing Engines, as well as the Ancient Engines, as they all together battle the Gaiark as well as other evil villains from other Braneworlds.

To date, Go-onger has the highest record for most returning characters in Gokaiger. Saki returns in Gokaiger Goseiger Super Sentai 199 Hero Great Battle to inform the Goseigers that they’ve lost their powers in the Legend War and in a crowd shot when the Black Cross King was delivering his message of doom. Saki, Mui, and Kegaleshia return in The Flying Ghostship as a delusion of the Goranger Hurricane. Sosuke, Bomper, Speedor, Bus-on, and Bear RV return in Gokaiger to get help against Gaiark in Gunman World and got Machafalcon, who is the son of Speedor and Bear RV. Yogostein, Kitandias, and Kegaleshia return in Gokaiger Vs. Gavan as prisoners in Makuu Space Prision. And Miu was the representative of the Go-Onger to be shown having her powers returned during the aftermath of the Gokaiger's final battle.

I like the suit itself, but the helmet really kill it for me. Especially Go-on Yellow's. They look like little kids drew them.

I love the suits. The Vs on the front? Actual effing seatbelts. SEATBELTS! How awesome is that???? I loved how it tied in with the overall theme. WEAR YOUR SEATBELTS, KIDS. I swear, this was around the time I started driving my car so it was almost like "Oh God the Go-ongers are watching me I better make sure I have my seatbelt on."

Silly, yes, but this whole season was silly <3

And omg the numbers on the front are just A+. I love love how the numbers look like animals. The tires on the arms and legs are a nice touch. And I actually like the helmet designs. They look like their respective animals. ESPECIALLY since the eyes on the helmets are really like headlights for a car.

About the suits... I think they're quite visually appealing, and fit well with the theme of the season. And I don't mind the helmets, though I love the fact that the Go-Ongers take them off on a regular basis.

The suits were alright looking

Live black and blues helmets as they weren't excessively cartoony.

While creative I didn't like the numerals plaster on their chests or the seatbelts... I could see that for a traffi safety season hint hint but not an environmental one

And to clarify my previous post I meant the goonger not the wings. With how cd referred to the hurricanegers and not the gouraigers I assumed we were doing the same here

The cast was quite enjoyable. Even though I didn't like the Wings from the get go, they soon won me over. Renn will always be my favorite character EVER. As for the Engines, my top three are Bus-on, Carrigator and BearR. And then the villains. Oh man the villains.

BEST GROUP OF BFFs EVER. Yogostein will always be my #1, but Kitaneidas is also a sweetie in my book. After the Gaiarc, all the villains in later seasons were bland. SO BLAND.

The actors were all fun to watch, had a nice chemistry, and put a lot of effort into their roles. IMO a good part of the season's charisma comes from their interactions. Yasuhisa Furuhara -- who is a huge fan of Sentai -- in particular dove headfirst in Sosuke's character, and it shows. On a different note, he can be a freakin' dreamboat when he's not making weird faces. :embarassed:

I love Bomper. I love everybody in Go-onger. There are only two that I don't love. Hammer Banki and Yogoshimacretein. ...Bom bom.

I already said my opinions on the Gaiark but they are just SO PRECIOUS. I love how BFF they are, and how they act towards their BanKiJyu, I mean Yogostein just cares SO MUCH for each of them, especially Hiramekimedes if you get my drift ^_~

I seriously want to write a fic from the Gaiark's POV and show them as the heroes and the Go-ongers as the enemy.

The Gaiark are pretty great villans !! I liked much of Yogoshimacritein,Kireizky and Hiramechimedes but the others are cool too.

I don't really like the Gaiark, but I do give Toei (Or Junki Takegami?) props for giving us a break from the usual Backstabbing villains we've been getting for a while, and giving a group who actually care about each other and look out for each other.

As for the villains themselves? Yogostein was pretty generic until Hiramechimedes showed up. Kitaneidas was pretty generic until Yogostein went into mourning. And Kegaleshia just didn't affect me one way or the other.

The opening theme was awesome. Go-Onger was one of the few shows I enjoyed listening the opening theme again and again ever when watching 5-6 episodes in the row. Loved the music organs of it, especially the guitar

Mr. CD, the way you phrased it, it almost seemed like you were hinting at Kitaneidas/Yogostein...

..The idea is intriguing and I will get back to you.

And based off how Yogoshimacretein acted, you can see why Yogostein came out the way he did. He didn't want to be his father and cared about everyone, even the Uguts. So it would make sense that he treasured his vice minister the most. God I love these guys. SO MUCH. Every time they cameo, I am filled with such happiness, even if it's just for two minutes. I can never get enough of them.

...I wanna cosplay Yogostein now LOOK WHAT YOU GUYS DID NARI. (Did I mention their Verbal Tics are just precious? Because they are zoyo.)

I love the opening, the very beginning sounds very Speed Racer-ish, but the rest of it is just so much love. I mean, you get the characters' catchphrases. All of them! PLUS there is traffic safety in the song and boom boom bang bang and sounds of cars speeding by. Once I was jamming to the song on my way somewhere and my bro went, "What?" when the car sounds played. I would love to do a cover for the song.

And also, I'm guilty of listening to the song just before RPM came on. I REGRET NOTHING.

The weapons were based off of roads and such! How awesome is that? I love love the Road Sabre. IT'S A ROOOAD. The Garage Launcher is a garage! Racing Bullet is a car! Bridge Axe a bridge! The list goes on. I love is so much especially when they make the SUPER HIGHWAY BUSTER~

Highway Buster and the Junction Rifle are sweet too. Though it's a pity Carrigator was only used twice for the attack. Him being of the Gian Race and all you think they would have used him more often ):

I'm probably one of the few people back in the day when pics for Go-onger was coming out who liked the Engine's design. Yeah, they're goofy and kinda weird, but I prefer them over the Origamis. Didn't like Engine-Oh's design. Too bland.

Oh, I should probably comment on the Engine's characters. Screw Sousuke/Miu and Sousuke/Renn, Sousuke/Speedor was the true canon couple of Go-onger :lol: Bus-on, I like his voice, but didn't like his design. At least the others looked like their animals, Bus-on doesn't even resemble a lion. He looks like a bus with eyes. And Bear RV kinda reminds of the old Sentai heroines who would make syurpy speeches about messing with a woman's heart.

Birca was Bakuryuu Parasa mk. II. Gunpherd was alright. Carrygator? Well, the dude was suppose to have a samurai-esque persona, but exaggerated (Hence why his lyric in Engine Second Lap ~Turbo Custom~ had an oriental sound and why they kept playing it constantly in promotion for the summer movie), but I felt Go-onger didn't show that side of him much or if at all.

Gunbiroh was Gao Hunter Mk. II.

Go-on needed more Carrigator. It wasn't really fair that all the Engines got more screentime than him but every time he appeared, I treasured it.

I like GunBir-Oh's design, if only because Carrigator makes up a big part of the whole combination. And when you really think about it, if he's not there, you can't make G6, G9 or G12 and you realize you're screwed 8D

These six Engines were just precious in every way, though I don't like how Birca got a huge following because he never seemed able to win a race for 26 episodes. CARRIGATOR never won any damn race and no one seems to like him any! How does that even work out and no one point out that the races only include the first five Engines, I know, I'm just pointing out the stupidity here. As more Engines join the group, they should be included in the races.

Awesome! I made a list of every Brane World out there, though I think I threw it away after a while XD It was a little fail that we didn't get to visit all of them, or get peeps from them.

Samurai World was overkill >> It didn't matter, it was in everything. The series, EVERY SINGLE MOVIE, I just got tired of Samurai World. I'd rather see more of Machine World. Like what if the Go-ongers had to go there for something or other. So far, only Hiroto, Miu and Sousuke went there. And omg I wanted Hiroto to go to Stormy World to reunite with Chibi ):

And while the series was airing, we were told that three Brane Worlds were destroyed, bringing the count of them down to 8. What if for every Brane World was that destroyed, another took its place?

The concept it as amazing for the show and gives the ideia there many dimensions in the universe and the Go.Ongers have to more protect not just one but all of them.

I've always thought it was a missed opportunity that Go-onger didn't do an arc where the Go-ongers had to travel to each of the braneworlds or something. I know they kinda did that in Shinken vs. Go-on, but I wish it had happen in the series proper.

Birca was pretty funny, Gunpherd was plain awesome, and Carrygator was cool. I hated Gunbiroh though. It always looked ugly to me.

I loved the build-up to G6. In most Sentai, things like G6 tend to be an afterthought, here you had events like the Gaiark ministers moving on to face the Go-onger directly and making a Banki based on the Engine-oh from previous battles and another specifically made to counter the Engine-oh. In spite of the comedy, Go-onger actually did present an escalation of the conflict, something I feel a lot of post-Go-on Sentai is missing.

And Hiramechimedas, finally a serious villain, which what was Go-onger needed. And I really like what Hiramechimedas did for Yogostein's character since before that point, he was a pretty generic villain. Though, I did wish Kitaneidas and Kegaleashia both had their own Vice Ministers. Also, did it take anyone else a long time to notice that Hiramechimedas was wearing glasses? Took me until the episode he went berserk to realize that.

One of the reasons why I loved Hiramekimedes so much was because he wore glasses, and why it pissed me off SO MUCH when they took them off in RPM. He looks so EVIL and CALCULATING with them on. When he doesn't have them on he looks naked D:

Oh, right, what I thought of him. Hiramekimedes was JUST what Go-on needed at the right time. I've seen GP15 too many times to count and I love every second of it. The amount of loyalty between Yogostein and Hiramekimedes was just precious and you could tell they were totally boyfriends <3

I loved his little catchphrase. "Poku poku PING! De hirameki!" Oh God and when he and Yogostein and Happa Banki did their own rolecall it was so cute I loved that. The whole Earth Branch was freaking love you guys.

G6 is like my favorite gattai. The song is freaking catchy like you guys don't even KNOW and it's a running joke with my friends and I that it's my song. I love that Renn was the one who helped make it possible for the gattai and lolCarrigator was the legs XD It was introduced at just the right moment and it was nice to see Carrigator being used.

They were pretty cool but at first they seemed way overpowered comparing to the rest and made the other look a total waste and that bothered me a lot for a couple of episodes. For sure Miu and Hiroto are two of the best in their colours I don't doubt about. The thing that they ruined the show's character chemistry is another story. Some characters were forgotten for many episodes after their appearance IMO or looked like amateurs/unlikable. The two mechas were awesome of cource

I didn't like the Wings or their Engines in the beginning. They all came off as complete pricks in the beginning and pricks don't warm up to Mr. CD. They got better over time, but I always blame them for starting this annoying "The Sixth Ranger has to be the exact opposite of the core team, personality-wise" trend that's been going on for these past 4 years. I also blame them for making Gold or Silver the default colors for Sixth Rangers.

i didnt find them to be pricks... i found them to be abrasive and realists while the goonger were bubbly optimists, with the complete opposite in pr rpm... i find it better for the sixth(s) to be more serious and uptight than to be the goofy one... ken, gai and genta annoyed me like crazy.

Not quite, sure there were some Sixth who personality were different then the core teams, but since Go-onger, we have Sixes who's personalities are the exact opposite in some kind of opposite attract thing: the goofy Go-ongers vs. the serious Go-on Wings. The serious Shinkengers vs. goofy Shinken Gold. The happy-go-lucky Goseigers vs. downbeat moody Gosei Knight. And the "obsess with looking cool" Gokaigers vs. dorky Gokai Silver. I fear what Go-Busters will do with Beet Buster and Stag Buster.

Yeah, there were some Gold and Silver rangers, but since Go-onger, EVERY Sixth Ranger is either gold, silver, or BOTH.

*cough* Anyways. I didn't like the Wings at first. They annoyed me with their seriousness and how they mocked the Go-ongers. As time went on though, I got used to them, warmed up to them and then we got GP41. Dammit Hiroto why did you have to have that ep. That was basically the episode that settled it for me.

With the Engines it was a little bit easier. Jumbowhale was the easiest to like at first. I didn't associate him with anybody. I liked Toripter after a while and Jetras, I always liked him for his catchphrase. And I liked that Toripter was a rooster.

The Go-on Wings were awesome. Again it took a long time getting used to them cause they were so different then the others. I enjoyed this season a lot. Go-buster is giving this same vibe too. I love the Engine they were so good to interact with partners.

Jumbowhale was very easy to like at first. Especially since he created Bomper!!! And I like how he to go to the Go-ongers without the Wings or the Go-ongers knowing. It's always fun to see him pop up in a ShiftChanger or Go-Phone and everyone being all, "OH SNAP JUMBOWHALE."

Seikuuoh was alright. Not one of my immediate favorites, but it was alright.

It was nice as a one episode thing. Kinda like G5 Prince but not really. A little overplayed to the point where I don't even want to listen to it when it comes on my ipod. G5 Prince doesn't get the same treatment and that doesn't really seem fair.

As for that particular episode as a whole, I liked that the girls worked together despite the fact that Kega-chan was a villain. And I loved how Yogo-chan and Kita-san interacted with the rest of the Go-ongers and there was no hostility. Keep it classy, guys. See? The heroes and villains could have gotten along FINE if the whole dirty environment needed for living thing wasn't so much of an issue.

Or the Gaiarc could have just moved to Junk World. Or lived in a landfill. Or something else of that nature.

like terrier, i enjoyed the coexistence between both sides... they should have just had it before the finale as it would have served as the calm before the storm

G3 Princess kinda WAS the calm before the storm. Because right before it we had Hiramekimedes' death and Yogo-chan going psycho. It played as a nice medium while Yogo-chan was deflated from his anger and it wasn't until an episode or two later that he flips his lid again after finding Horonderthal. You couldn't just jump into Yogo-chan going psycho again. After a while, he had to see that life just wasn't worth it anymore after Hiramekimedes passed and Kita-san and Kega-chan didn't fill in the void.

As for G5 Prince, well, we all know what happened after the clipshow >>

Horonderthal was pretty cool. I liked Sousuke's and Yogostein's death, it was probably my favorite episode of Go-on. But, G12... it was so damn ugly.

Horonderthal was a meanie. If Yogo-chan had never found him, he wouldn't have taken another turn for the worse. Or maybe not. I mean, Yogo-chan seemed to be subdued during the episodes following Hammer Banki.

G12 was a mess, YES. But I liked how they incorporated all the Engines and the theme song was A+.

The fight between Yogo-chan and Sousuke was similar to the fight in the previous ep, the Go-ongers vs Yogo-chan. It was so difficult to see Renn smacking a frying pan against his face but it also hurt knowing that Yogo-chan was beyond the point of salvation.

Yogo-chan will forever be missed. He had those nearby who loved him dearly, but they just weren't enough for him. At least they were together in the very end ;__;

The "death" of Sousuke was quite dramatic. Nice to see Renn was the one who was at his side first and was the first to think it was G12's formation that might have caused it, but daaaaamn Miu. Your scream gave me chills.

Eh, the story was ok, but wasn't found of T-Line's and K-Line's designs. They look too simple. Kyoretsu-Oh was cool.

Really surprise they "killed" off one of the Rangers and killed off one of the main villains this early. Well, ok, it was 14 episodes from the end, but still, that's pretty early. Their final duel was intense.

Decent story, like how it pick up where Geki ended, but wasn't fond that they did the team-up battle before they did the team-up roll call.

Kireizky it as great add to the villans and i really enjoyed the New dinamic between the others because the New Villan is more devious and evil that the others too.

The Death of Kireizky final battle it as great he battles all Mechas aganst him and even take them all down and it destroy to G12 and it really great evil villan.

Kireizky needed to die before he appeared. He was only in two episodes, was mentioned afterwards and the only thing that was great about him showing up was all his weapons!

My favorite weapon that he had? THE BUCKET BAZOOKA. The way you say it is just... omg I wanted it SO MUCH to appear in RPM and it didn't and that was one more point against RPM. Hell, I would love to have the Bucket Bazooka as a toy!

Wasn’t a fan of Yogoshimacritein. Not because he killed everyone, but because he reeks of “Thrown in at the last minute”. Wouldn’t be surprise if this happen in the writing room: “Uh-oh! How in the hell can we end this? Neither Kegalesia or Kitaneidas are much of a thread for our superheroes to beat and triumph over, there's not any dramatic conflict, there's nothing at stake! Let’s do this! We’ll get Kiyoyuki Yanada back, create this new villain, and say he’s the leader of the Gaiark! Even though we never once hinted at his existence!”

Also, is Jumbowhale a Gian? Because it always seemed weird how Jumbo and Gator both had the same functions, yet Carrygator was the only who took any action in avenge his fallen comrades.

Yogoshimacriten it as great Big Bad evil villan for the Machines Nation and i really enjoyed is evilness.

Chirakasonne it as cool and i really liked he protect is Master and i battles aganst the Go.Ongers it were cool.

Yogoshimacretein was a d*ck, plain and simple. I hated him from the get go, especially when he started to badmouth his son. His LATE son. You don't disrespect the dead, not when his two best friends are present. And I could see him taking out a whole race. It's something he would do.

Chikarasonne didn't die soon enough.

Oh man the deaths. The deaths were freaking random as all hell. They came out of nowhere and Carrigator ;__; While everyone else was freaking over Hant and Birca, my priorities were obviously elsewhere.
