I started posting the iOS Video Tutorials. There's still a lot to complete. but I've got the multitasking gestures and the basic iOS functions covered in the videos.

The video clips have been recorded with my iPhone 4 and uploaded onto YouTube, but I've only selected the "Unlisted" postion on all of them, so they can only be viewed from my forums only. More videos are coming soon. Copying of links to other webistes/forums is forbidden.

A couple of updates:

UPDATE 1 - October 10th, 2012:

For the October forum update, I've chosen to make a couple of changes to the forums.

The support forums have been split into two parts: Operating Systems and Software/Hardware. The number of sub-forums was decreased. Now it is clearly stated for which operating systems we offer unofficial support.

The new Software/Hardware section is all about software and hardware for all known and popular types of computers and computer-based devices - laptops, desktop, mobile, touch-based and also, there is a new area for the tech tutorials there. To avoid the confusion of the tutorial sub-forums with the InfoTech Services category, those sub-forums now have added "How To's" to their names.

To make it clear: the Operating Systems category is ment for global and basic OS support only and the Software/Hardware category is ment for all software and hardware support for their repective operating systems and their respective type of computer devices.

The InfoTech Services have been kept, but are no logner sub-forums. Now they're main forums. Also, a new service was added: Website Creation & Editing.

The PC/Mac General Discussion forum has been moved to the Community category.

The OS J Black, Red and Blue skins have returned. I have done my best to fix them. Let me know if there are any troubles.

Some of the forum descriptions have been simplefied to decrease the text cluttering on the forum index.

The Service Website has been removed. The forums are simplefied enough and to the point where the Service Website is unnecessary, so the decision has been made to remove it. However, the Media Gallery, Downloads and Portal sections of the website were kept and will play a major role on the board in the near future. They can be accessed from the sub-menu.

Other than that, nothing else has been changed. The forum system stays the same as was before this update.

UPDATE 2 - October 11th, 2012:

I have decided to remove the InfoTech <color here> skins, which were based on the Invision Power Board 1.3 Alpha Blue [Default] skin. Jcink is slowly fazing out the mentioned style and moving on and I think so should we. There will be more color versions of the new Jcink default skin and more color versions of the OS J skin soon instead.

UPDATE 2, part II - October 11th, 2012 :

I have disabled the Sub-Accounts option. Originally, I was going to add a RPG and a Fanfiction section to the board, but since we already have enough categories and forums, I have changed my mind about it, so I disabled the feature. It was going to be used in the same way as on Megaforce Studio, but since having the sections and the feature available, I would need to change the entire forum system and probably a couple of rules.

Stay tuned for more updates during this month. There's going to be at least one update per week.

UPDATE 4 - October 13th, 2012:

The shoutbox is now no longer available. It was removed because I want the content, the direction and the theme of the board be the first thing guests see when they visit the board. Besides, a lot of the forums no longer use shoutboxes and that's why I think we're better off without it.

Besides, it made the board look cleaner and nicer and it lowered the clutter.

In the coming days and weeks, I will be cleaning up a little bit. Only the most important features and content will remain.

UPDATE 5 - October 14th, 2012:

Here's a detailed list on what will be added and what will not be added.

What WILL NOT be added:
New skins
New features
New categories
New forums
Website
Blog
Shoutbox
IB Store
Army RPG
RPG categorory & forums
Fanfiction category & forums
Switch Account feature
more codes into the board wrappers
New member groups
New permission masks
New User Tittle/Ranks
more sub-forums
sub-forums of the sub-forums
illegal downloads
more BB codes

What MIGHT be removed:
some of the features (only the most important ones will remain)
Arcade
Portal
Downloads System

What WILL be removed:
Constantly-coming new updates starting with 1/1/13 (untl the end of 2013, news forum will be closed after 31/12/13)
lack of content updates (got a special magazine now, I start adding tech-focused content tomorrow!)

UPDATE 6 - Final Update for this and next year - Today:

I have increased the width of the board in order to clear up the clutter of the links in the sub-menu.

Also, I have decided that no more updates are needed and therefore, I will not be logging into the ACP anymore, unless really needed.

I have also made a most recent backup yesterday, which is updated every month on the 15th.

If any of the staff members would like to change something in the ACP, please contact me via PM and we will discuss it there. Thanks!

Due to the .tk domain suddenly disappearing, I had to re-register it. Now I'm not sure if I deleted it, because it was working up until a couple of days ago, so that's not the case probably.

Anyway, just to be sure, just bookmark these domains (I registered 1 extra as well):

Unfortunatelly, all of our .tk domains stopped working. The dot.tk domain actually lets you register as many domains as you want, but DOES NOT transfer the ownership to you. This has led to the following: the .tk domains that have at least 100+ hits per day, are sold to the advertisers and those domains, once sold to the advertisers, are then re-directed to their own "advertisers websites". And to make things worse, there's nothing that the domain registrants and website/board owners can do anything about it.

Obviously, I don't want the same thing happening all over again and my registered domains stolen, so that's why I've chosen to premanently abandon the .tk domains. InfoTech Forums WULL NOT be using a .tk domain ever again.

New replacement domains have been registered on the afraid.org service. The list of currently available domains for this board is:
- http://infotechforums.b1.jcink.com/ (default)
- http://infotechforums.jfbs.net/ (2nd default domain)
- http://infotechforums.uk.to/
- infotech.t28.net (new)
- infotechforum.uk.to (new)
- itforums.us.to/ (new)

You can use the above domains to access the board and make sure that you bookmark them.

New updates (23.11.2012):
- serbian version of the board is now launched;
- today's content update is delayed until tomorrow (for personal reasons this time), but it will include the addition of new content in the Media Gallery, Arcade, Portal and Downloads system;
- slovenian version of the board is now under early development;
- staff positions still open, if anyone's interested, send me a PM;
- the new promotional website is under development as well;
- the board is now called Info Tech Empire and the entire forum layout and system are changed for the better;
- now choosing a paid forum software for ITE: it will be either XenForo or IPB, based on the final fate of XenForo, which should be known soon.

InfoTech Empire has been updated to feature a double column forum layout, new skins and some new sections.

We are no longer just a tech support board. We are now also a download-type of board and we will be releasing some skins for Jcink boards as well.

Also, we now have a board-dedicated e-mail address.

Due to the original concept of the board not working as I hoped it would and due to my personal issues that I had over the past 2 years, I have decided to re-start the board from scratch. I'm still sticking with Jcink. The best elements of the original board were transferred onto the new board. The new board link is http://infotechempire.jfbs.net.

Update - 13.03.2013:

I've decided to go back to using 1 skin for ITE and use the Snap skin as the only skin that my board will use from now on. The skin is available in two versions: for computer monitors with large screen sizes and for computer monitors with small screen sizes. The recently released skin will be renamed, and some new releases for some of the free forum solutions will be out later this week and the next. I've also added an announcement box and have applied some extra colors to the skin, so it looks more "live".

Phoenix Fire

I am going to use that skin on my own board too. I love the amount of possibilities which you can do with it.

mnikolic
03-13-2013, 02:21 PM
Me too. It's the amount of possibilities that contributed to my decision to remove all other skins, because there's no way any of them could beat Snap. I've seen the double-column forum effect for individual categories, while the forums inside each category were displayed normally (had that effect on a couple of skins and it was quite nice, however, a lot of padding and width edits needed to be done to get the effect to display correctly) but I had no idea that it's possible to do that for forums only, leaving the individual categories to be displayed normally.
The first version of the Snap skin didn't support using the sidebar and the new forum index display without increasing the complete board width, but a recent update made that possible. You can even set the skin to display in night mode during the day (by default, it switches modes when the day/night switch-over happens). Plus if you run multiple boards and if you made edits to the CSS file, you can share it with all of your boards without having to re-edit the CSS file over and over again for each board.

As for the skin I designed (not sure if you've seen it), I should be releasing it tomorrow or on Friday.
