Season Summary

Kyuukyuu Sentai GoGoV is the twenty-third installment of the Super Sentai franchise. Like it’s predecessor, Seijuu Sentai Gingaman, it is one of a handful of seasons not using Ranger in its title. GoGo V was a unique series in that it was the first since the concept was introduced in Zyuranger to not have the team acquire a Sixth member, thus they remained a five person team throughout. GoGo V was also unique in that it was basically Family Vs. Family; the GoGo V were a good family and the Saima clan were a evil family and parallels were made between the two. GoGo V did something interesting by having an episode being about the Grand Cross a week before the actual Grand Cross happen. GoGoV also got a V-Cinema feature as thank you for bringing rescue awareness to Japan

The Grand Witch Grandiene, the head of the Psyma Family, has been waiting for the day of resurrection, the day when the planets are in the alignment of the Grand Cross. Her children descend to the Earth to make it a realm of darkness for her. Ten years prior, Doctor Tatsumi of the Tatsumi Disaster Prevention Institute predicted this event, but nobody believed him. He left his family so he can secretly develop and construct the Rescue System. Now in 1999, Doctor Tatsumi appears again to give the means to save the world to his children as the GoGoFive team.

Matsuri, Go Pink, returned during Kaizoku sentai Gokaiger to provide the Gokaiger with team’s Greater Power to Luka and Ahim. Unlike several of the other Greater Powers at that point, the Tatsumi family’s power was not in the form of a mecha, but an attack. Shou, Go Green, was the representative of the GoGoV to be shown having his powers returned during the aftermath of the Gokaiger's final battle. Daimon, Go Yellow, returns in Gaoranger vs. Super Sentai to teach Kai Samezu (GaoBlue) how to perform his famous "Banba-Style Cow's Killer Milk Tornado Drop" ("Banba Hissatsu Ginyu Tatsumaki Otoshi”).

Kyuukyuu translates as "First aid" or "Emergency services". In the context of the show, it is normally translated as "Rescue". It is also a pun, as its premiere year of 1999 is often shortened to "99" which in Japanese is also read as kyuukyuu.

The GOGO V is pretty good i really enjoyed the storyline and the Psyma Family much diferent from the LSR season.

What did you think of the suits?

The Suits are cool i really liked much of them.

I liked the suits a lot, they have a good sturdy feel to them, and I like how the face plates are shaped like the symbols of the rescue divisions they all worked for.

I found the helmets awful. The rest part was like a kite, I liked it. Especially pink's reminds me lollipops and candys:p

The suits look okay. especially GoRed's suit. look at his visor, it look like a badge

Eh, I'm all for simplicity, but I felt it just didn't work here. And while I get that their visors were based on the badges of their rescue divisions, it always annoyed me, even as a kid, that Green's and Pink's visors were too similar looking.

i enjoyed the suits when i first saw lightspeed rescue but the helmet emblems never made sense to me other than pinks and reds to a degree... after learning about sentai it made a lot more sense... while its a little psychadelic, i liked the swirl effect as it was kind of like a siren

and for a police officer, yellow's emblem didnt look the part... blue's did on the other hand... blue yellow and green's were just a mess in general. i didnt even realize the green-pink similarity until cd mentioned it

I really enjoyed much the theme and fits really well in the GOGO V

Wasn't fond of it when I first heard it, but over time, it grew on me. I really like how this song was very epic, dramatic, and heroic. I loved the "Save the Earth! Save the Lives! Hurry Kyuukyuu Sentai GoGo V!" Shinichi Ishihara puts so much emotion into it.

Overall, it's a pretty good cast so far. Matoi a crazy mofo. Nagare... well I'm finding him kinda dull. Shou, I like his energy. Daimon, well he's a lot calmer here than he was in Gao vs. SS. As for Matsuri, well, I heard she gets some badass moments later on, but right now, I'm finding her to be very much The Girl right now.

They are really cool and creppy the concept of them by a Evil Demon Family much diferent from LSR.

What did you think of Mondo, Mint, Kyoko, and Mr. Inui?

I thought Mondo was a pretty cool guy who was trying his best to make up for his ten year absence. Mint could have used a face, but there were some good antics with it. Kyoko should have been in all the episodes and her dream should have been a reality. Mr. Inui...he was the fire chief guy who tried to shut down the GogoV team because of some long running family rivalry right? I think that shows how memorable and how much impact he had for me.

The Go Liner is great, and the 99 Machines and the way they combine into the Victory Robo is superb.

I loved the mechs for this series. They don't exist entirely to battle enlarged monsters, nor do the individual parts just exist to make an arm or a foot. The miniature work done with them was just phenomenal, with the way they film the scenes or what they'll have the mechas do. Victory Robo, I always thought Green got the short end of the stick. You can barely notice it's apart of the thing. :lol: Really liked the extendo arms on the thing.

The Concept it as cool and something diferent but if they used that ideia in LSR and the LSR have that but in diferent way Queen Banheera and Olympios and Dana/Ryan and Captain Mitchell.

Grandiene brief returns it as cool for the others Demons have a goal to accomplised to see there mother and the Grand Liner is one of my favorites Mechas in this season well the Guy is Huge an Massive and reminds me Voltron Vechicle form

Grandiene's brief return was a very tense moment, and the Grand Liner is an unbelievably epic mecha.

What did you think of Kyuukyuu Sentai GoGo V the Movie: Sudden Shock! A New Warrior?

I really, really, really wish that Kyoko had gotten to use the Zeektector armor again during the main series. Oh, and the movie itself was fun.

What did you think of the V-Lancers?

I really liked the V-Lancers, they had a great design and I'm a big fan of polearms anyway, so that worked out really well for me.

The V-Lancer themselves were pretty cool, the episode where they are introduced was my favorite. What it the Grand Cross approaching and Zylpheeza getting so desperate to kill the GoGo V that the guy, after taking a hit from the V-Lancers, actually MURDERS his own monster just to make grow so it could defeat the GoGo V. That was... wow.

You mean those three guys who really tore the GoGoV a new one? I liked them, they were nasty and dangerous and renewed the threat level of the Saima clan.

Fallen Angels were Awesome and they are the Final Villans before The Dark King comes to Battle the GO GO V

I honestly felt like these guys should have stayed around a bit longer. They got a pretty good two-part introduction, with one of them getting killed first then they just killed two birds with one stone by offing the other two. I really think it should have taken four episodes to do.

What did you think of Liner Boy, Chimera, the V-Mode Bracelet, Max Victory Robo, and the death of Zylpheeza?

Liner Boy was nice, but I would have much rather had Kyoko as the Sixth Warrior *Grins*. I really liked the V-Mode Bracelet and the Max Victory Robo was awesome, as was the way it killed Zylpheeza. But, my memory is being dumb and stupid, remind me which one was chimera?

The Liner Boy it as cool and i really enjoyed is battle aganst the Fallen Angels for help the others.

Chimera it as nice Monster for last monster of the Zylpheeza and the battles between him and the GOGO V were great.

V-Mode Bracelet cool gadget for the Team

Max Victory Robo pretty nice and the design as well and is finish strike is great.

The Death of Zylpheeza it as great he battles the Rangers and the others when he is brother Falls we see them we fear but them even with the desire of Vengeace because one of the Most Powerfull from Psyma Family as Fallen.

The Drop of getting the Dark King Star it as cool and Opens a New Chapter and the Maturation into Salamandes it was awesome see the Infant becames the New Warrior in the Psyma Family and i reallty enjoyed the storyline of him take over the Leadership of the Demons.

I found that to be a nicely done little story, though I wish it had been brought up again later with Matsuri and Salamandes interacting again. Oh well.

What did you think of the return of Grandiene?

Her warped body was definitely an odd thing, but her presence does make things much more interesting on the villains side of the field.

What did you think of the return of Grandiene?

The Returns of Grandiene it as awesome and is first act to destroy the City it as great and is presence between the others villans make the things even more interesthing for the plot develoment and is odd and strange form reflected is evilness.

The Presence of Grandiene between is Demons sons have diferent ways of they react between her.

The Victory Mars debuts by stabbing an asteroid stuffed full of evil until it explodes. One would be hard pressed to find a more epic debut for a mecha.

I thought it was a good way of showing us that there would only be five heroes on the team that year (even if Liner Boy is the sixth warrior).

The Title i believe could means they are just five Heroes battle the Evil Prysma Family even with the Sixth Member maybe because he is just a Mecha.

It's cute, but if they were going to stick with just five members, they should not have introduced the epic awesomeness that is Kyoko.

I liked that whole thing of them sharing the same card, building energy from one monster to the next, it was clever.

The concept it as really good they sharering the same card and building energy for the Next One, it was well planned.

That was a really good evil plan on his part, and the way Grandiene stranded him there was just cold, you knew she was planning to do it from the start.

The plot is really well done and is much ironic that happens the Most Devious son of Grandiene was banished for is Mother with cares much to him when he was a little infant and when becames Salamandes she do not shared such love for is Youngest son.

The Changed for Salamandes for Ghost King Salamandes it as cool he absorving Power to return to the Humam World and Fight the GOGO Five again it as awesome.

Watching Salamandes tearing his way through all those dead Psyma Demons and getting back into the real world was pretty cool.

What did you think of the death of Denus and the return of Zylpheeza?

I thought it was moving how Denus gave up her life to bring back her older brother, and I liked getting to see Zylpheeza again.

The Death of Denus it as pretty shock moment she gaves up her life to bring is Older brother it as awesome and the returns of Zylpheeza it as great is good see him again and he is one of my favorites Villan in GOGO Five.

it was touching that them despite them being villains they were still siblings that cared for each other

What did you think of Grandiene getting her body back, the death of Cobolda, Grandiene revealing that she never cared about her children, and the destruction of her body?

That was an amazing sequence, the way she set Cobolda up to take the fall like that, and that epic punch Matoi delivered to destroy Grandiene and her palace was epic.

What did you think of Grandiene getting her body back, the death of Cobolda, Grandiene revealing that she never cared about her children, and the destruction of her body?

Gradiene getting her bodu back it as great and before that moment in she becames even more devious and Psycho Villan, She never care less to the others and just i own goals.

Gradiene revealing she never care about is children it was the Started of the others events of the plot.

The Death of Cobolda it as shocking moment she using is own sons to destroy the rangers it was awesome and the Final moments of the Cobolda it as sad th Brothers share there final moments.

The Destruction of the her body it as great see the Battle in the Palace between Matoi vs Grandiene it as epic the Epic Punch with Makes the Palace Blow up.

What did you think of Ritsuko?

I was kind of disappointed with how the show handled Ritsuko; I'd gotten the impression that she'd done something on purpose so that she could help her children out in spirit, but it turns out she was just in a coma and I've no idea how she appeared in the Demon Afterlife to help her kids escape.

What did you think of Ritsuko?

It as good the way she helped is her children in Spirit.

What did you think of Grandiene making Zylpheeza and Salamandes her puppets, and Max Victory Robo Sigma Project?

Once again Grandienne demonstrates a level of Evil rarely even imagined by most Sentai villains, and the Max Victory Robo Sigma Project was neat.

What did you think of Grandiene making Zylpheeza and Salamandes her puppets, and Max Victory Robo Sigma Project?

Grandiene make Zypheeza and Salamandes her puppets it as pretty shocking because she demostrates not cares with is Sons they are just tools for her is goal and put her a Level of Evilness with is not much demostrated in Sentai Villans.

Max Victory Robo Sigma Project looks similar to the ANother Mecha they have but with a diferent Color.

What did you think of the finale?

I thought it was a pretty good finale, though again I felt they could have done a better job of bringing the mother back to the family.

What did you think of the finale?

The Finale it as great the Both Super Demons battles the GOGO Five in the Final Battle, the way of they destroyed all Mechas and they with almost anything defeated the Evil !!!

Do you have any regrets about what GoGo V DIDN'T do?

GoGoV could have done more with some of its subplots, like Matsuri inadvertently helping Drop to become Salamandes and Denus swearing revenge on Nagare. Also, the mother could have been worked back into the story way better.

EDIT: And Kyoko should have been able to use the Demon Hunter suit from the movie at least once in the series.

Do you have any regrets about what GoGo V DIDN'T do?

GOGO V it as cool season but i never liked much of the ideia they do not keep the Demon Hunter outside of the GOGO V could by reason good he continues in the Sentai, and some subplots could by better.

I thought the series was very good and had strong characters on both sides and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who was willing to watch without subtitles.

The GOGO Five is pretty great and well everything is pretty awesome and the defirences between GOGO V and LSR is really well done and the charatars are stronger and the story too.

It as interesthing they used the Finale of the Season for the "The Rise of the Super Demons" because the Finale of the LSR it as much diferent. because i never liked much the way of Grand Wich it as defeated, she becames a Evil Aura around the planet and them waited is Powerfull Sons destroyed the GOGO Five and them will goes take Over.
