After it has been recently brought to our attention that various news site will sue message boards for copying and pasting their news article onto their board, we request that members DO NOT copy and paste news articles to the board anymore. You can summarize the news article and provide a link, but DO NOT copy and paste the news article onto here. This rule has been added to our Off-Topic Forum Rules (http://www.rangercrew.com/forum/off-topic-discussion/8706-off-topic-forum-rules.html).

Have a nice day!

Hey Mr. MoD. Maybe you should live my example and edit your post in this thread (http://www.rangercrew.com/forum/off-topic-discussion/23729-rip-rodney-king.html)? just a thought :p

News sites will sue? Any particular sites? Anyway, rule noted.

Yes. Yahoo, Fox News and Gizmondo are just a few examples of companies welling to sue. A few have lost BUT that's because they were arguably pressing charges for the wrong thing. Even though they lost ultimately the sites they sued were still shut down. Fighting plagiarism against the big guys is expensive as hell, even though the Big Guys should of been suing for copy right.

Gbatemp.net recently started their own rules against coping and pasting whole news articles as well. Although press releases are exampled and very small pieces or inserts of the articles are still allowed there. Rest assured other message boards are and have been fallowing suit with their own copyright and plagiarism rules. Ranger Crew being the first Power Ranger based forum to do so.

EDIT: I was being semi-sarcastic with my post to Mr.CD. I know it will take time to edit the Topics of the off-topic section. I know several of my own old post break the new ruling.

EDIT2: Did you know technically everything a person post into a message board is owned under copy right law (varies country to country) by the poster and the message boards webmaster? Every time someone quotes someone from another message board your actually breaking the law unless you asked the original poster first. Of course message boards are a code of honor type of deal. We are suppose to take it on faith others have sourced/credited us.
