Wow, this is so cool! I'm not sure if you know but I heard a rumor about there being a script with Cassie supposably as the Pink Galaxy Ranger. Is that by any chance true?

Fury Diamond
05-12-2009, 03:56 PM
^ Yes, it is very true that Patricia (Cassie) was intended to replace Valerie (Kendrix). I can't remember what happened at the last minute to give the role to Melody (Karone).

Thanks for sharing the PRLG scripts, SirStack!

That'll be in the next update. It's also the only script I have in its original computer file format (and as such is missing the writer credit for it), instead of scans.

:oh: I'm so freaking happy. After reading "Forging A Friendship", it really makes me wonder what thing would've been like if Cassie would've become the Pink Galaxy Ranger. I like the way "The Power of Pink" ended. I had ideas but it exceeded what expectation as did the first draft of "To the Tenth Power". thank you so much dude. "The Chameliac Warrior" was also interesting and "Double Duty" is something I definately think they should've left alone when it comes to terms of how it ended.

Thank you so much for the scripts dude! You rock! :D

So I just read the original Doomsday part 2 script. Seemed a bit dark for Power Rangers to have them kill off a kid. Even if he was evil, he still had a human looking face.

Just to let everyone know, I posted everything I had left to post tonight. All of PRDT, the PRNS script Mesh helpfully donated (thanks!), and the PRiS ones donated by MistyStuffer. A lot of good stuff in it, and quite a few surprises that are sure to make for some fascinating reading!

A minor niggle, just downloaded Power Play part 1, the release notes text file mentions PRDT 1222 Triassic Triumph instead. The scans are correct though. It's also listed as PRDT 291 instead of PRiS 291. (http://sirstack.livejournal.com/50649.html)

The Mega Rangers Element Breakdown also has the Triassic Triumph release notes.

Dimitria in the Power Dome is a *very* interesting concept, but I wonder if this "Space Base Commander" would have known about Dimitria and the Rangers, or if he would have been an unknowing third party. (Norquist, sort of, became this role on the actual show, I believe.)

Also, Stratoforce Megazord? Nice touch. That must have been the first concept for the Mega Winger.

No Andros. Oh, what could have been...

@MegaBlue
Yeah it was - it's pretty obvious that Mega Winger and Mega Voyager ended up keeping their Sentai names due to the cockpits (Mega Voyager's has it's full name in it, not as easy to hide as the writing on the Dino Bucklers was). The name Stratoforce was recycled for Lost Galaxy (as was Galaxy Megazord, an early name for Astro Megazord) but Mega Voyager's prototype name was unknown to the fandom until now, as it's not been reused.

Maybe that was intentional, to see how many people actual read the release notes?

Being on dial-up now I'm currently unable to read the scripts. Are there any new names to previously unnamed monsters? I'm hoping at the very least A Star is Torn gives the name to the land vehicle monster.

After reading through the Megaranger breakdown, it sounds like they had a lot of interesting plans that would've been great to see pan out. I found it interesting that there was no Andros, no Astronema and they were going to keept Justin. Definately an interesting read and it put a smile on my face, as did Power Play (Part 1). Makes me wish we could see the first draft for Power Play (Part 2) and the rumored Power Play (Part 3). Thanks alot SirStack!

How come the last scene from The End of Power Rangers is missing? The one of Toxica and Jindrax at the zoo. I know that it was deleted but they still filmed it so it would have still be on the script, no?

Mugenhunt
09-07-2012, 12:38 PM
The copy of the script that Jesse had access to was missing those pages. Either because they got ripped out of it, or lost, or misplaced or whatever. Not that the script pages for those didn't exist. It's a physical printed out document that he gets, not a digital file. He has to scan them, and so if a page is missing there's nothing he can do about them.

galaxy_ben
09-08-2012, 11:49 AM
I thought Mistystuffer was donating some of the scripts? And it was him/her who first distributed the script of that scene so they should have the full script of that episode.

Mugenhunt
09-08-2012, 10:41 PM
*sigh*

The people who scan scripts from their own collections so that Jesse can host them scan every single page they own. And Jesse is meticulous enough to ask "Hey, we're missing a page here, did you perhaps skip one?" should a page be missing. Which means that in this instance, the scene you want just wasn't included in the copy Mistystuffer had for any number of reasons.

We buy these scripts second-hand from people who used them in the production of the show. Prop masters, actors, writers, selling their own personal copies at conventions. Because they were used, they may have lost pages or be torn or the such from the wear and tear of production. We can't do much about that, because getting access to scripts is rare and beggars can't be choosers.

Sirstack, will you able to explain the storyline of the Pre-Zyu teams because I'm tired of people suggesting that the Pre-Zyus were from a different planet or something.

What do you mean? Officially & canonically, the Pre-Zyu teams are not a part of Power Rangers. It may change soon, but nothing official has come yet.

The 2nd Evil

I found the script notes I compiled while watching the episode to compare it to the script itself, so here's the copy and paste from a Word document:

Matt Austin donated the script to the charity auction at Power Morphicon II, and it is signed by all five of the Retro Rangers’ actors.

The script is more or less the same as the episode as it airs, however there are some differences. The script, for instance starts with Mack sweeping in the command center, and his talk with the Sentinel Knight, but the episode begins with the Operation Overdrive villains discussing how Thrax’s plan is failing and the Retro Rangers in the Angel Grove warehouse looking for Alpha’s crate, which is not until after Mack asks rose about Excelsior in the script, and even the warehouse scene and Chillers fight is sandwiched between scenes of Mack looking for Excelsior and falling into the pit in the script.

The scene with Thrax confronting Mack in front of the Warrior Goddess stature and the rest of the Rangers coming to his aid was intercut between Alpha’s reactivation, which was longer in the script.

In the script, Thrax yells “Make my monster grow!” and makes Vulturus grow by blasting him with the Z Staff.

The Zord battle with Vulturus is longer in the script, and happens just before Alpha wondering “what would Zordon do?” inside the Morphing Grid.

After Flurious turns Vulturus into Vulturus Maximus with the Gyro, Thrax makes him grow and there is a second Zord battle that was not in the episode. The big battle in the script took place in the city, and not a rock quarry that just so happened to have a random car there. (Seriously, Koichi. What is with you and that?)

In the script, after Thrax says “Come, my evil alliance” Flurious pretty much tells him to screw himself, and states the alliance is over, where as in the show, they showed unity until Thrax’s destruction.

In the script, while the Operation Overdrive Rangers have the Zord fight with Vulturus Maximus, the Retro Rangers are the ones that battle Thrax and the Operation Overdrive villains. Adam does not use the Defender Vest in the script.

In the script, after Sentinel Knight destroys Thrax, the Operation Overdrive villains cheer.

In the script, when asked if he was ready to head back to Angel Grove, Alpha wonders “if that “Internet” ever became popular.”

This script is dated 28 January 2007, and is the most recent date on it, so I don’t know why the changes to the big battle were made, because I know I would have liked to have that second Zord battle instead of Mercury Ranger defeating Vulturus Maximus by himself.
