Riku in hollow bastion just takes practice. It took me 2 trys the first time I fought him there. You need to do a lot of dodging of his rash attacks. If you can beat cloud on the hard mode during the collosium, you can beat Riku. Use simular tachics against riku you used on cloud. If you have not fought cloud at his best, I sujest you go and do that first.

I really enjoyed the first 2 titles, but I really don't support the way Square Enix is moving the franchise. I could care less about the 3 side games they're working on (Birth By Sleep, 358/2 Days, and Coded), and I really just want KH3. This is not to say that the 3 side titles will be terrible, but who really wants to play a full out KH game on the DS?

But yes, I liked the first 2 games. Chain of Memories is a totally different story.

IDK overdrive. Birth by sleep is a prequal to the first game. The screen shots i seen, really shows the psp graphics off. There equal to the first game on the ps2 only with the psp better screen resolution.

The ds game is about Roxas, leading up to when he leaves the O13. Its going to use both of the ds's gpu, to give it higher graphics than most ds games. This means the touch screen will be barely used if at all. Have you seen the screen shots? The graphics look a bit glitch and dated. It is so easy for hands to fall asleep holding the ds. Its hard to beleave a FF12 lenth game being played on the ds.

Why dose the prequal to KH3, have to be a dam puzzle game! On top of that is for cell phones.

I agree 100%. Sometimes I think that I'm the only one who doesn't understand the story completely. Glad to know it's not just me.

And yes, the storyline has become a mess. I think it was the first introduction of the Nobodies that really started to take things down a different road. I still enjoy the story, but it is a bit messy, and a bunch of side stories that spread across 4 different consoles or systems surely isn't helping. Not to mention, I have no idea where the series is going. I've heard things that KH3 will be a prequel? And now they're introducing the Keyblade Wars that consist of about 3 or 4 brand new characters. Yeah, that didn't help at all.

That's another issue I have. In the first game, the Keyblade is the end all ultimate weapon. It was a huge deal that Sora was running around with it. Towards the end of KH2, people just started using Keyblades. I remember a point where Kairi even started using one.
Then fast forward to this hidden trailer, showing magic guys chucking thousands of keyblades at each other. It's cool looking, yes, but the keyblade is just some sword now, in no way unique. I'll give it a chance, i'm just worried it's drifting into predictable, run of the mill Square Enix territory.

I'm currently playing KH Re: Chain of Memories (PS2 version). I prefer the old fighting style that was used in KH1/KH2, but the card system is rather interesting. The storyline is darker than the first two, which definitely gives it a drive as you progress each floor.

I've played KH1, KH2, most of KH: Re:Chain of Memories. My understanding is that anything after 1 and 2 (Chain of Memories, Re: Chain of Memories, and 358/2) are actually fillers for the story between the two games and the focus on Sora/Roxas.

FD, you are correct. 358/2 is what happens after Sora stabs himself with the Dark Keyblade and seperates himself.

CoM is the second game in the series, and Re:CoM is for PLaystation 2.

I'm halfway done with 358/2. I do like the mission-based system. There are times that it does repetitive but in a good way. The cinematics are great. I'm more looking forward to Birth by Sleep. I heard it got delayed for early 2010.

I played KH1 and it didn't take me long to beat. I had it beaten in about a week. KH2 was a better storyline, but all the Powerups and Form Changes for Sora was annoying. All in all, though, KH1 was a better storyline. I want to play Re:Chain of Memories and 358/2 Days.

The gameplay in Re:Chain of Memories is different. At first, I thought it was boring playing with this card system. But the "training" system is rather interesting. If you are willing to play for hours collecting cards, then it's not bad.

I'm enjoying 358/2. The only downfall is that the game is more mission than story-based. The cinematics from the original KH is beautiful. I took a little break to play Dissidia, but halfway done with 358/2.

The Cinematics on KH1 were beautiful. The overall appearance of the game itself was amazing. There were a lot of villains and characters that I knew from my Disney-watching days. The only thing about KH1 that was different then KH2 was Atlantica. I liked it better in KH2 then in KH1.

Considering bosses require the reaction for the finsihing blow i would say yes, it is a hell of a lot easy.

Looks like I'll need to buy a ps2. My pc is way too slow for kingdom hearts to run at full speed.

KH1 also had a lot of problems with the camera angles at times. I still remember how annoyed I got during the fight against the opening to the cave of wonders (the lion's head . . . does it have a name???) because the camera angles were so bad. Personally, I found the overall gameplay in KH2 to be a lot easier, and I think I liked that one a little more, mostly because I'm a huge fan of Roxas. My least favorite battle system was in Chain of Memories, though. That just made me crazy.

The "Simple and Clean" cinematic in KH1 is truly beautiful. It reminds me of the amazing and popular scene of when Rinoa and Squall's first meeting in FF8.

I love both of those scenes. I also love the opening video to FF8--between the music, the intensity, the cinematics . . . it's just awesome.

As for the fight against the 1000 heartless, I'm pretty sure that was in KH2 (and I definitely agree that that's probably one of the best fights in KH).

I found the Battle of a Thousand Heartless easy to beat. That was one of my favorite parts of the whole game.

THe Light Cycles were easy. you just needed to have a quick reaction and an itchy trigger finger. That was the easiest part of the game.

Ansem wasn't hard. The Reaction Commands did get boring, but he was a fun boss to beat. Easier for me to beat then Chernabog and Dark Riku in KH1.

The 1000 heartless battle was fun, but easy. With every heartless able to reaction comand and destroy easily 10 per reaction comand, or many more, it was easy as pie. I don't remember much about the cycles, must have been easy. The Fight against Xemnas was pretty rad, with him all armored and using the powers of the 6 Org members in this game against you. Then he captured Sora and you got to play as Riku for all of about 2 seconeds.

A note about the reaction command part... you are supposed to jam on both triangle AND X... if that helps you.

You make jamming both T and X sound easy! My figures are always too sore after using the non-stop reaction commands against him. Those dam laser are so ****ing cheap!

I found Dark Ruki in KH1 far easier than Ansem (in both games). Though it could because I fought and beat Cloud many times. They both basically take the same tech to beat. Despite having more room to dodge Dark Ruki (than Cloud) I will agree he is slightly harder than Cloud. Him harder than Ansem? Hell no!

I found the last part of the xemnas fight difficult took me 10 tries before I finally got it as for dark riku he was no problem ars arcanum plus metal chocobo or the olympus keyblade really helped agains him

The final fight with Xemnas was pretty easy for me and for the 1million lasers I just turn the controller to the side and use both my thumbs to press the buttons

I didn't have trouble against Xemnas but had to do it twice cause I missed the cutscene at the end, so I had to do it again. Oh, three twice, I didn't know that Sora could block too in the final sequence. *facepalm!* stupid! lol. . .

Ok after reading the plot for Birth by Sleep and watching the secret ending subbed I officially CAN NOT wait for KH3. Three new Kingdom Hearts games are in development: Kingdom Hearts III along with two other untitled games. The first of the untitled Kingdom Hearts games is expected to be released in 2010, which he mentioned earlier in an interview on Twitter. The game is also expected to focus on Sora as well as another character who has been cited by series director, Tetsuya Nomura, in an interview with Famitsu in February 2010, as being "the center of the series" who was later revealed to be Xehanort. Nomura has previously stated that one of the future games would be connected to 358/2 Days, Coded and Birth by Sleep, and would be more of a main game than a spin-off or sidestory. The game was teased in a secret movie, titled Reconnect. Kingdom Hearts, shown as the secret ending to Birth by Sleep.

The second of the untitled Kingdom Hearts games will be released in 2011 and will focus on multiple main characters. In addition, Kingdom Hearts III is currently in the conceptual stages which would mean that it would be the last to be released out of the three upcoming games, Kingdom Hearts III will also not end the series; only what Nomura calls the "Xehanort Saga" involving Sora's encounters with Xehanort. He also adds that the series will not continue on with a new protagonist instead "Sora will be the hero till the end". This release schedule fits with a recent statement Nomura made in which he said he wanted to release at least one Kingdom Hearts title a year. The upcoming games were revealed during an interview with Nomura in March 2010 which was part of the Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Ultimania, a companion guidebook for Birth by Sleep by Square Enix.

I did have a thread going about Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep but it got closed. I'm a fan of KH. I have kingdom hearts one and two and chain of memories. I also created a fan made game, Crystal Dynasty. Which includes the rangers. I even made my own fan art from it. I'm hoping to get Birth by sleep when it comes out. I haven't beaten the others. I too am stuck on Riku Hallow Bastion in Kingdom Hearts. Battling the oranization leader who uses a guitar (hollow bastion level) in kingdom hearts 2. And the final Riku battle in chain of memories. I wish my thread for birth by sleep was open. We were only discussing about the game and all.

Yea, the Simple and Clean remix was used in the intro and ending of KH1. It's a beautiful song and the cinematography in the videos are perfect. I recently beat KH2 but the ending wasn't as great as the original.

I just put Birth by Sleep in my psp, I am gonna play it soon, after I finish the missions of Crisis Core(almost done 96% :D). This will be my first Kingdom Hears game, as many here know I am a huge Final Fantasy fan so I am gonna love this for sure. I am planning on buying KH 1 and 2 for PS2 as well

I am sure I will. I am playing FF games the last 1,5 year and completed in the row FFVII,Crisis Core,Dissidian, FFVIII,FFIX,FFX,FX-2. I am playing FFXII on PS2 now. I have also completed FFVI in the past. I even have a greek forum about Final Fantasy. I also read the Kingdom Hears mangas, pretty good. So I am obssessed with FF :D

I've played all of the FFs except for FF9, Crisis Core, and the Crystal Chronicle ones. I may have to try Crisis Core after KH:BSB. I wasn't a big fan of FF12. FF13 was an epic game, especially if you go for the Platinum trophy. Dissidia was a fun game but wasn't too big fan of the battle system. A friend of mine introduced me to KH and I got hooked immediately. The usage of FF and Disney characters is a mind-blowing concept. I may have to check out the KH Mangas.

FF9 had great gameplay and final bosses. Crisis core and dissidia are two reasons to have a psp. In total I've spend around 6 months on those. There is a boss in Crisis Core with 10 million hp. You have to complete around 500 missions of Soldier First Class training to reach it. It's like 2 games inside 1. Dissidia on the other hand is a mix of rpg and fighting. The more you play the more you are obssessed and you wanna lv100 everybody and unlock everything. 2 of the best FF games of all time for me. The mangas were cool, they were the first mangas I ever read, a few months ago. I will replay Crisis Core now. You keep all the GOD gear you have in New game +. All my stats are 255 and I do have 99999hp and do damage 99999hp :P

As for FFXII, well I like it but also I am not crazy, this is not FF, too much different, I also prefer the old school turn based
FFXIII I haven't played it because I don't have an HD TV, so not PS3 as well.

I heard great things about Crisis Core. I may have to make that my next game. Unfortunately, it may be awhile with Fallout: New Vegas coming next month.

I may have to look into FF9...wasn't a fan of the concept art for the game. IMO, FF12 was good in regards to the training and combat system but the story wasn't all that. I'm a fan of the old school SquareEnix games, especially the classic FFs, Chrono Trigger, and Secret of Mana. As for the modern day FFs, I enjoyed FF7, FF8, and FF13..with FF13 being my favorite.

I don't know...it's different. I can give better feedback once I get through two of the storylines. I prefer a single detailed storyline rather than the repetition of multiple perspectives. The original KHs were great because it was this epic journey from world to world. In this one, you complete the worlds and then you do them again 2 more times. I assume that the primary differences will be the cinematic storylines, the bosses, and maybe the items / keyblades that you can use.

I think it's awesome. I too started out playing as Terra. But I'm stuck on the Stitch level. Then I did Ventus. But I still need to get one more material for Cinderella's dress. And for Aqua, I'm having trouble beating the dragon. I couldn't get away from the flames long enough for her to heal herself. I have the guide book for the game. I also have kingdom hearts, kingdom hearts 2 and chain of memories. I don't have 358/2 days. Cus I don't have a DS.

Το tell you the truth I feel a little weird with the idea of FF and Disney world into one. On manga it was easier to get used to. As for gameplay it reminds a lot of crisis core and the combos are cool. I love the big cutscenes it has and the music if very good. I think I am gonna love this, especially if FF characters appear later. Terra looks like Zack Fair, that's why I chose him :p

I read the wiki. if i understand this right: if Sora's "super heart" was to get devided into two normal ones and one was to go into Roxas, Roxas would either become a restored Vent or become a new vent. Almost done with Terra's storyline.. just need to level up in the Mirage Arena to recieve the Xehanort Report and to beat "Terranort"... I've tried almost 20 tries and he's still beating me. I already leveled up.. but his attacks are pretty strong and take alot of life out of me. Should I just Put Cure spells in my command deck instead of the regular attacks? I basically just counter all his physical attacks.

I haven't played in a week. The Terranort battle was epic. Tried a couple times and decided that I need to do more training and also complete any side quests (Reports, Mirage Arena..etc) before tackling him again.

With its prequels and side stories, the Kingdom Hearts franchise has kept followers of the series engaged for years. Fans have anticipated the next big title in the franchise for some time: Kingdom Hearts III (KH III) . In a recent interview, Tetsuya Nomura discusses life, his full schedule of projects, and notably what his plans are for KH III.

Nomura-san commented on the current challenges he faces developing KH III:

“For any sequel of the mainstream storyline of the Kingdom Hearts series, that would be Kingdom Hearts III”

He added:

“But the problem is that the opportunity of developing the sequel is not currently [possible]. The team is busy, I am busy.”

Even with his busy schedule, KH III is still something he wants to do and is preparing for. Nomura-san had this to say about his thoughts on the next chapter in the storyline:

I’m thinking about what’s going to be next after Kingdom Hearts II, the future that is Kingdom Hearts III. Time has nearly come to [work on] that concept.

With the game’s concept phase being in sight, it leads to the question: When can we expect it? When asked if we would see it on the current generation of consoles, he gave this revelation:

Yes it might be possible. It is my desire to develop the next Kingdom Hearts on the existing platform, but the problem with a new console is that it has new technical requirements… So, yes, I’m willing to create something on the existing console because when we aim for another non-existing future console, the release of the title will be far in the future. That’s my concern.

Nomura-san is a busy man, even stating he had to “sacrifice my private time, my marriage, my family time” to stay on top of all his current projects. At least KH III is one of those projects. No matter how long it takes, it will be worth the wait.

OK my thougts about KH birth by sleep so far

-I love the combat system, so many options. Fast combos and wonderful to watch battles. Stradegy does matter
-The story is awesome, I feel like watching a new disney movie with the long length videos and the so many popular heroes from the Disney world.
-Command board is an extremely cool game. I love playing it all the time
-The arena is a huge add. I am sad I don't have friends with psps around

So in total, once you start playing, you can't stop. I wonder how are the KH 1 and 2 which I have never played

Agreed. I had a blast with KH 1 & 2, but enough is enough. The story has gotten so convoluted, I'm lost as anything. Damn I had complete Birth By Sleep with Terra and Ventus, but when I changed firmware my save appeared as corrupted and I quit it. I was planning to complete it with Aqua but...
Anyway I am gonna play the first game on PS2, after I complete FFXII(omg what a game). I am searching for the second KH to buy it too. Has anyone read the manga? They are nice

Has anyone else been playing Re:Coded? It's not a bad game...the beginning is rather slow but the game play is fun. I'm still waiting for KH3. I love all of these permutations of KH but I miss KH on the big screen. Square Enix needs to stop with all these random games and get KH3 in gear.

One concept that I do like from Re:Coded is the "sectors cleanup". In each world, there are areas called Sectors, where you destroy all of the enemies and earn points for leveling items. After you complete a sector, you repair a part of the world. The training system is fun...if you liked the Sphere grid concept from FF. The story feels repetitive but I'm hoping that it picks up near the end.

Ewww I hated the sphere grid of 10. It took way too long to earn point for spending. Square-Enix even admits FF12 and FF13's leveling was them trying to make a revamped sphere grid, for all fans could enjoy. FF12, I still haven't beaten it. I'm stuck because I didn't do the board right. I'm gonna have to start over again because of where I saved. Has for 13's they finally got it right. I'd be happy if they kept the crystal gird for all feature final fantasy games. I guess I won't be getting re:coded.

FF13's Crystal System is beautiful. One of my favorite concepts of the System is that they intentionally lock the final layer until you beat the game. If you are into the Platinum trophy (PS3), you will spend hours training all of the characters to the max level. I must admit that I had more fun training in FF13 than any of the other games. Probably spent days fighting the Behemoth King.

I'm been stuck on Birth by Sleep since November. Seems like i have no where to go and nothing to do but play the ice cream rhythm game from hell with the duck tales triplets. How do you beat this mini game spawn from hell? No matter how high I score, it always ends with bad and game overs me. I looked on countless sites for this and all they tell you is the same crap from the mini game's instructions.

Got bored with Re:Coded. It started getting very repetitive as I progressed through the game. The sector concept is fun but gets dull quickly. I think my favorite concept in the game was the different elements for each world. The turn-based RPG concept in Olympus Coliseum was sweet.

I bought my current psp just so I could play BBS and Core Crisis. I already beat CC. Don't know what I'm gonna do now. I wish I never bought BBB now. Worst game in the series cuz they screwed me over with a stupid timing/rhyme game. I just don't have the hands for timing and rhyme games. Thanks a lot Square-Enix :angry:

Re:Coded was my least favorite in the series. There wasn't a lot of new plot info and it tried to be a 3D platformer at times. As much as i love 3D platformers, this game's controls and camera aren't really suited for precise jumps. I liked it, just not as much as ALL of the other ones.

My understanding of the plot is this: when they defeated the giant heartless made of worlds' hearts, some worlds didn't reappear because of how tragic their going out was. They are stuck having nightmares and reliving their deaths over and over again. The world of dreams is made of the all worlds' dreams. By going into these dreams, Sora and Rika can change the out come of the dreams (not change history) allowing the the worlds hearts to awaken and allowing the worlds to be reappear. The 13 members they are seeing maybe dream-beings created either by the worlds dreams or the humans who still need restoring.

Originally I loved Kingdom Hearts, and played through both I and II more than once. The major problem for me came when they started releasing games for every handheld system under the sun that you needed to play to understand the whole story. Not to mention the fact that I won't play through a game who's combat system is card based.

Recoded apparently explains when a nobody and they're heartless die, the original person get's restored. Explained in a interview, electing to become a heartless makes your heartless transform into a copy of your original self. Cause Roxas elected to merge with heartless-Sora, the current state of Sora is that of a half-ling. He's part nobody, part heartless and he has Vent's heart locked inside his own. 3D features Sora's apparent fall into an anti-hero.

It's a shame that I don't have a 3ds, I would love to get that game. I only have a ds. It's so cool that you get to play as both Sora and Rikku. And explore brand new Disney worlds. Also Terra, Aqua and Ventus are in this too. This game seems to be a connection to what happened in Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, Chain of Memories, the remixes of those three, the one that mostly plays as Roxas (can't quite remember what the title was) and Birth by Sleep. No wonder this game franchise has been around for 10 years, it's quite amazing. I really need to get 3ds.

I finally got further on the Aqua story in Birth by sleep. I'm currently at the Olympus Collesium world. But I'm stuck on the boss level in the STITCH world, the boss Stitch's cousin the electric one (Terra). And on the Cinderella world, having trouble getting around to finding the last two pieces for Cinderella's dress (Ventus).

Played the demo a few weeks. The new flowmotion navigation is rather fun. In past KH games, you have to wait till 3/4 into the game until you got the ability.

Unfortunately, I only own a PS2 and the Gameboy Advanced to play Kingdom Hearts games on. The only way I really keep up with the game story lines are through wikipedia and watching game play on youtube. I'm looking into buying a Nintendo DS soon, though.

You should buy a Nintendo 3DS instead of a Nintendo DS, since it has 100% backwards compatibility with ALL DS games, plus you will need a 3DS if you ever want to play Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance (3DS).

I won't be getting Dream Drop Distance until Christmas 2012 sadly, but it'll be worth the wait, I know that much for sure.

I won't be buying this game after finding out about the drop-out system. There is a timer and when it reaches zero you are forced over to the other character. Progress in defeating bosses is lost and the character can roam around til your back in control. Sounds like a very annoying element. Possibly the worst element thrown into a game since the timer of Majora's mask. Or at the very least possibly game breaking for me as Birth By Sleeps rhythm games. Had to use cheats to get past them and that isn't possible for the 3DS yet. Actually even after hacking my psp, i have lost my will to play BBS. I have never had to cheat to beat kingdom hearts before and thus the game was ruined for me.

That's why I find it stupid that Sony got rid of the PS3's backwards compatibility after the 60 GB or 80 GB model was released.

I suppose I'm lucky I still have both my PSOne Slim and my PS2 Slim.

Anyways, getting back to the topic on hand, yeah, there are plenty of DS games I'd love to play, like Zelda, Mario, Sonic, etc, so 3DS having Backwards Compatibility is freaking awesome.

I got the game back in November. And it's short. Fun but short. W/o collecting everything, you can beat it in 3-5 hours even on hard mode. With collecting everything, about 6-10. Ugh. It is about a 10th of the gameplay time you could put in kingdom hearts one and 2.

And the drop out system isn't as annoying as the reviews and Square make it sound

If it stays it won't be getting my attention as I don't have, nor plan on getting one, PS is just not for me. Nintendo and Xbox are where it's at for me.
