Funny you say that. I am sure Chuck Norris wore them in Walker, Texas Ranger. Those kung fu kicks in the face are sharp and painful.

I guess the Rangers' minor leaguers do.

Dragon Caesar

Congratulations to the Giants. That was a quick series win by the underdogs.

Has anyone heard of MLB expanding the playoffs from 8 teams to 10? That would be ridiculous.

Mr. Pink
11-02-2010, 12:26 PM
they should just redo the divisions... the red sox were crap this year but they were better than a lot of the national league division leaders

10 teams would mean at least one team per league would play twice

Mr. Green
11-02-2010, 12:46 PM
They should have an NFL-style division structure (though it would require adding 2 more teams as well as moving an NL team to the AL). Something like this (Bold denotes expansion city):

AL East

Baltimore
Boston
NY Yankees
Toronto

AL North

Chicago White Sox
Cleveland
Detroit
Minnesota

AL South

Kansas City
Memphis
Tampa Bay
Texas

AL West

Arizona
LA Angels
Oakland
Seattle

NL East

Montreal
NY Mets
Philadelphia
Washington

NL North

Chicago Cubs
Cincinnati
Milwaukee
Pittsburgh

NL South

Atlanta
Houston
Miami
St. Louis

NL West

Colorado
LA Dodgers
San Diego
San Francisco

Mr. Green
11-02-2010, 01:12 PM

I like the realignment idea. Astros and D-Backs, one would most likely shift to the AL.
ESPN said this about Astros

Two highly ranked executives believe the Houston Astros would be a possibility, because a switch to the AL for Houston would foster a rivalry between the Astros and the Texas Rangers.

Now that is a good way to get money with in state rivals. I also like the idea of the idea of having the divisions removed just being a 15 team league it will be more fair opportunity.

Mr. Green
06-14-2011, 11:39 AM
They only need one team to switch to the AL to even the two leagues out.

jedibloo
06-21-2011, 03:40 PM
that depends if the Marlins are trying to snap their losing streak. so I think its a good move because it would help them pull themselves together.

also in other news Albert Pujols will be out 4-6 weeks with a fractured forearm. tough loss for the Cards

Terrible news out of Arlington: A Rangers fan died after falling 20 feet in an attempt to catch a foul ball.

ARLINGTON, Texas -- A male fan has died after falling over the outfield railing and landing on the concrete behind the out-of-town scoreboard at the Rangers Ballpark during the second inning of Thursday's game between the Texas Rangers and Oakland Athletics.

"We are deeply saddened to learn that the man who fell has passed away as a result of this tragic accident," Rangers president/CEO Nolan Ryan said in a statement. "Our thoughts and prayers are with his family."

The Rangers closed the clubhouse to the media after their 6-0 win. They haven't released the name of the fan because they aren't sure if all the family members have been notified.

The left-field wall is 14 feet high and the fan went over the railing, which is a few feet higher, for an approximately 20-foot drop.

The fan, wearing a blue Rangers cap and white Rangers shirt, was seated in the front row and, according to others seated near him, was yelling at Rangers left fielder Josh Hamilton for a foul ball that was hit by Conor Jackson and landed on the field. Hamilton flipped the ball toward the fan and the fan leaned over, caught it and toppled over in the gap between the railing and the back of the scoreboard on the left-field fence.

It has been awhile since we spoke about baseball.

Yes, I do think MLB needs to realign itself. MLB is reaching the point where it can add two more clubs with all the talent available, and those clubs should be in the Carolinas and Canada. Then, it is time to decide whether to keep two competing leagues, or unify into one league.

Dragon Caesar
09-29-2011, 05:33 AM
I hate to see both the Braves and Red Sox miss the postseason. Both struggled at stretches for a time, and that doomed their runs.

For the Braves, one mistake was holding on to pitcher Derek Lowe longer than they should have. He was arrested for a DUI in the preseason, and lost just about every start. The Braves were unable to trade him because he played bad, had a hefty contract, could not get a fair return for him, and clubs did not want a liability. The only way Lowe leaves Atlanta is a trade, which a club has to take on payroll, or a buyout.

I'm not really a baseball fan, but congrats to the Cardinals. I was rooting for the Rangers to win, but like I said I'm not a fan. All I can say is, it's a great day NOT to be a Rangers fan! They're gonna' be kicking themselves for years over this one!

And now, it's time for St. Louis to turn their attention back to their winless Rams! Have fun with that.

Oh yeah, for sure. Especially after being a strike away from the title in Game 6 on two separate occasions.
