    Default Adult Swim

Well, in light of watch Titan Maximum. And the fact that Adult Swim loves Mech Anime. I know it's not possible, but what do you think would happen if Super Sentai was bought and adapted to PR by Cartoon Network, Adult Swim?

Would it be more gritty? Another show for pot heads? Let's hear those opinions.

Aimed at adults you say? I guess it would become darker and more serious, and they would actually start using more violence which Disney would've cut out of the Sentai footage. But as you say, never gonna happen, 'cos Disney don't sell their franchises.

Disney doesn't sell shows they produced...they are not interested. They rather cancel them instead after a show has had many seasons.

That would be the coolest thing ever. It would fit in good i think with the line up.

I have no interest in watching what is effectively PR with a smidgen more violence, lots more pretty boys and singing, and minus the one thing that interests me the most in PR: the shared universe.

Sentai Universe is shared isint it? They do team-ups annually, anniversarys and the most recent seasons have all made reference to Abarangers Curry House

who says the universe would be broken into two, it could still be shared, just more gritty. That would be cool to see. What actually happens in a battle. Not everything goes your way, ya know. And that's the stuff really interests me. But I personally think that they would kill the storyline, because it would be one of those 15 min. shorts for people who get hi.

Sentai has, with the exception of Denjiman and Sun Vulcan, ALWAYS been a franchise consisting of AU sharing a basic concept, like Gundam, only without several sequel series to the original incarnation. This is the Toei party-line. The annual team ups and anniversary specials all have disclaimers explaining that they're "imaginary stories". They're non-canon, like most theatrical movies based on Japanese television programs. Or like the Silver/Bronze Age crossovers between Marvel and DC Comics, that just pretended that the respective heroes had always coexisted on a shared Earth, without getting into the mythological implications of that, or resorting to the interdimensional travel plot device.

And cutesy references internal to a toku show about another show are just that - cutesy in-joke references. The Toei Word of God has always been "alternate universes". There was, I think, a period where they basically pretended that the series had a shared universe, around Gaoranger I think, but that lasted about, 2 years I think? I don't recall the specifics. The point is, it's ignored, and each series is treated as a separate continuity, because of the sheer weight of Word Of God stretching back for almost 30 years outweighs their brief, aborted experiment in a shared universe, just as the fact that Power Rangers has always been considered a shared universe by everyone involved for 99% of its existence outweighs Eddie's insistence that RPM is an alternate universe.

Denjiman and Sun Volcan are contiuations?

There's nothing to suggest that RPM is in the continuity. Just wait until they screw up in the story line, then say it.
