That doesn't mean they still don't find oppression at the hands of Benders. So what if Amon isn't able to lead anymore, even if he survived? That doesn't mean something didn't start thanks to him.
Beautiful finale, it had a good mix between action, romance, and drama. Amon's revelation was a good story telling and I didn't even see it coming. This Series keeps getting better and better. Here's hopeing for season 2 being good as well.
The ending was done so beautifully. We can now truly call her Avatar Korra.
Did want to come back to this real quick. The main premise of his movement was that the spirits gave him the ability to take bending and that they wanted the world to be equalized. Come to find out he does it with blood bending and not because of the spirits. That's why I think his big movement will go away.
Let me use this one. When Hitler died, and the Third Reich fell, did the Nazis stop hating the Jews, gays, etc.? No; look at the Nazi Party (political party); their platform is still that the Jewish are the cause of the world's problems.
Just because a leader is gone, the movement doesn't end. The seeds have been sewn; it's not going to just vanish because of Amon being a fraud.
That is COMPLETELY different. People followed Amon because of his story of how the spirits gave him this ability to equalize the world. His most devoted follower Mustache guy saw him blood bend and was pissed! That was his most devoted guy. Also this really only stayed in Republic City. So it'll most likely be the end of it.
Riots already had begun, as we saw when Korra's friends were locked up. There's already problems. People don't forget things. I'm sure there was more damage than we saw on screen. People were already fighting for an ideal, and so what if it turned out to be a lie? I'm sure they could either decide to go on with their normal lives, or keep doing what they've been doing. Some of them might find themselves as having gone too far as to turn back to their real lives now. Hell, it's already in place, another Equalist could try to take control of the situation.
Discrimination has already been sewn into Republic City. I don't care if Amon was a fraud, if his followers know it, all of this has happened. You can't take things back that easily. The non-Benders were already being restricted in their rights by Tarlokk. He furthered discrimination. He had non-Benders locked up. Non-Benders were already fighting Benders. This isn't something that can be cleared up simply, as a "misunderstanding" by Amon being fraudulent. This is a problem that will persist. Will it eventually end? Sure. But I have no doubt there are enough die-hard followers of Amon's beliefs that problems will continue to persist for at least some time. Probably only ending when they are brought to justice. Because that's how things work in life.
There're a few things I don't understand about the finale one to get in touch with your spiritual side you need to get super depressed? too if amon took bending with blood bending then how come it took the avatar reverse energy bending I guess? to fix it they never accurately explain what he does does he shutdown the bodies chakra links so that bending Energy can't flow with the body?
My only real problem with the finale is the whole romance with mako seemed rush. Although that is still a minor complaint because it was still a well done finale. People are complaining that they Korra regained her powers to easily, but they keep forgetting that the show was renewed for another season after this season was wrapping up.
