Lol It's been a joke for the last day, I think we figured that out before April Fools even hit.

Ha, I just read this thread. It brought a smile to my face when I thought that my April Fool's Day would pass without so much as anyone around me attempting to play a prank.
As for Tommy, I believe that he and Jason wagered over leadership of the team in "On Fins and Needles." However, they had been turned against each other by an evil spell.
If they wanted Tommy back and JDF agreed to it, Tommy would be back. I don't think anyone currently involved in the show thinks or cares about whether someone's "character arc" still has anywhere to go. And the lure of getting Tommy back for a season would be great even if there was someone who did care.Originally Posted by arcadiarikia
And I do think that Tommy has somewhere to go. He didn't receive that much focus in any of the late DT episodes post "Fighting Spirit." They didn't give him a maintext emotional journey and completely bring it to a close by season's end. Tommy mentored a team, sacrificed his powers again, and then briefly expressed some feelings of wanting to live a normal life. That was it. All the subtext of how the other characters treated him, as well as the canon fact that he works with an entire network of old Rangers, was left untouched. This is a guy patterning himself after a mentor who's been dead for years. Who's looked at as the best of the best, even with all his flaws. Who's had numerous offscreen adventures, and who picked up would-be archenemies like Smitty without even realizing it. Who the show almost directly compares to BATMAN. There's plenty that could be done with Tommy, or a number of past characters.
I firmly believe that all but the blandest or crappiest characters can be expanded upon if the writers put an effort into it.
April Fools Day!
It's no mystery that this was an april fools joke.

It was tons of fun, but it wasn't the only prank![]()
I have a question. How long have you been working on it?
And kudos for getting PR cast members to post about it. You didn't trick me, but I thought it was great!
