With Shane Black‘s Iron Man 3 now filming, fans have begun to piece together what’s happening via set photos, rumors and more. The biggest revelation thus far came two weeks ago when set photos confirmed a brand new suit of armor that looks like character named the Iron Patriot. Initial reports were that the suit would be manned by James Badge Dale‘s character, a villain in the movie. Those reports now appear to be false.

Latino Review once again has the scoop and a new, more logical, interpretation of the photos. We’ll reveal their spoilerish findings after the jump.

Latino Review says that, while the red white and blue suit seen in the below photos might be referred to as “the Iron Patriot,” it’s not the Iron Patriot as known in the comics. In fact, it’s actually Don Cheadle‘s War Machine, in a new, upgraded, patriotic armor.
