I just got Transformers East (Headmasters and Master Force) in the mail today. I saw 2 episodes of Headmasters and
was surprised that Shout Factory and Hasbro hadn't brought their own people in to do an English dub for the US. What
the heck is up with that? Headmasters is pretty solid if you ask me and should have been dubbed.
They didn't have the budget provided for that. Dubs are REALLY EXPENSIVE! Hasbro barely wanted them to do these in the first place.
Train size loop whole in their contracts with shout forced Hasbro to allow them the subs. And why didn't you post this in the other transformer dvd thread you already started?
Actually my idea is this -
Make an audio file from an earlier English Dub and then use that to dub the Shout Factory release on Head Masters. The Shout Factory reissue is for Video clean up mostly.
Wait the Shout Factory releases don't have the Hong Kong English dub?
^nope. Why would they? The dub was horrible and only done with 10 people at most. The group who did the dub no longer owns the dub rights, so even if it wasn't horrible shout would have to pay Hasbro money.
Do you really want a dub where the best lines are "Fortess Maximus has come himself" and "Darn that Soundwave, YAAARWWWN"?

I know but still watching Headmasters with the English dub makes an awesome drinking game. Fun fact Metrodome stated the original owner of the English dub tracks demanded a stupid amount of money for Masterforce and Victory.
