^ I have a question about the quality of the footage:
Despite having the VHS copies of past episodes, do you think that Shout! Factory did the best they could to make the episodes you've seen as clear as possible? I'm not talking HD clear, but enough so one doesn't see the grain in the source material.

That's a great question. I have all of the television-aired episodes on VHS tapes in addition to the German International MMPR version. I like the fact that all of the Power Rangers episodes will fit nicely on my DVD shelf rather than a box in the garage. I have only seen half of the bonus features, so I cannot directly comment on the quality yet. I did watch the MMPR Fan Club video, which is something that I recently watched from my personal VHS copy. The video and sound qualities are pretty clear and amazing compared to the original VHS version. I will check out the remaining bonus features and a few episodes today.

Thanks. Is that right about the MMPR Fan Club video? Maybe that's a good indication of how the episodes will be. I asked the question because the preview clips from the DVD didn't seem all that different from what we would watch on TV. However, that could be because it was upload on YouTube. The quality tends to be different between the two unless the actual quality is uploaded.
I look forward to what you have to say about the quality of the episodes.

Someone removed my post about the video rip off disc. Why did they do that?

No ripping discussion will take place on this board. Plain and simple: Do not rip ANYTHING from the DVDs. Brian has informed fans about this several times. The DVD Menu is the only clip that was approved for review purposes. We want to ensure that the success of the Shout! Factory DVDs.

Good review. All of these things continue to sound even more amazing. It's good that you're enjoying them. Shout! Factory has done a "WOW!" job with putting all of this together. Perhaps it was good that the DVDs have come out at this point (instead of a long time ago) because there are enough resources to reflect back on and use for a person who wants to know more about the series.

Fury, in the paragraph where you talk about the "Morphin Time!" feature the first time you mention Elie Dekel, you spelled his last name as "Deker".

Thanks for the typo find. That's what I get for typing in a hurry. Fixed the typo. Let me know if you see any more issues.
