blah...I don't like the Zangyack at all...I think they're perhaps some of the least impressive & least interesting group of villains IMO in Sentai.

I don't care about Zangyack
They were alright.
Not the strongest villain personalities in the franchise, that's for sure. A crybaby leader (Warz), a yes man (Barizorg), and a woman (Insarn) who's only there to fire the Satellasers to grow the monsters (which was a total PRiS copycat). As for Damaras, forgettable.
I didn't like the Zangyack. They were boring and sometimes pretty useless.
it seemed pointless... when you had basco
Now there was a much better villain!![]()
No, no.
Zangyack? A disappointment. They were strong in the very start, and maybe even two, three episodes in. But after that? They became an absolute joke. I like strong villains (Rio and Mele are the benchmark for me, along with Long), but the Zangyack? They weren't even characters. Giles began to do something, then he died. Damaras had potential at the end, but no, he died. And Insaarn? She could have done something cool, like stage a coup or do something useful at the end, knowing she was probably going to end up dead.
When we get to the Emperor, he had three bodyguards. One died in the Shinkenger episode, and he had two more, one who lasted to the finale. Why didn't he serve a point? It's almost as if he was just thrown into the finale because they realized he wasn't dead yet. He served little to no purpose, showing just how worthless even an executive member of the Zangyack is.
While I admit Zangyack were a weak cast (and I say this as someone who is at best indifferent to, at worst irritated by strong villain presence) I think it's unfair to complain that they did not dominate the story as the villains in Gekiranger did. The excessive villain focus is a reason that Gekiranger wasn't well received in Japan, and it's something Toei probably won't try again for a long time. It's no surprise they didn't want to do it in Gokaiger.
