Do you think it will be renewed or do you think Saban would shop for somewhere else? Just curious on people's opinions on this. It seems to me like Nick's 2 year thing is killing Power Rangers since the show aims at a much younger audience than Nick's normal shows and really can't afford to only have 20 episodes spread out through a calendar year without kids losing interest. Compare the early days of Power Rangers where Power Rangers would run 40 + episodes Monday-Friday.

Saban will most likely take it to the CW if Nick doesn't re-up the contract.

I am think the ratings might cause Nick itself not to renew...unless Megaforce is wildly successful ratings-wise.

Saban might run because of the whole thing that Nick is doing of making seasons last two years when there is no need to and making PR years behind SS.

    Here is what I think:

-Saban Brands has a set of plans. Do plans always go the way you want them to? No, but they are going to try. Acquiring 4Kids is one of those plans. Just yesterday, this was officially announced.
-My prediction is that they're going to see how much of the programming they can get to become successful. It would be wise of them to begin creating a live-action show similar to Power Rangers to test the market (perhaps Power Rider?) before any move is made.
-If the programming is producing good numbers, but Power Rangers Megaforce isn't successful on Nickelodeon, then it's possible that they venture off on 4Kids.
-Nickelodeon is involved with the newest production of the franchise; so there is a huge commitment to fix whatever were the problems with Power Rangers Samurai. My guess is that since this is the case, none are parting ways anytime soon; even if 4Kids is successful.
-My opinion about doing a two-year per series commitment is plainly that it sucks to the highest degree. There is absolutely no benefit from it because when one decides to watch something (even kids), the interest has to continuously be there. Sticking with the same story and making it move in the span for a long time doesn't seem wise for kids who have low attention spans to begin with. Changing it up every year keeps things fresh and enticing for kids to continue to watch. After all, we're not at twenty years for nothing. Yes, it was done in the beginning, but about ninety percent of the franchise has change every year.
-Honestly, if Nickelodeon wants to make a serious commitment with the franchise, they need to let there be a one-season commitment. If they want to shift it to Nicktoons because they can't do that on their network, then it probably would be for the best; especially if Saban Brands would consider moving the franchise to a similar place in 4Kids.

Honestly, it's not the fact that a series spans two years. It's not even the amount of episodes. Most series have 20-26 episodes a year. Its the way the episodes are shown. Spread them out more evenly and the two year thing wouldn't be so bad.

I don't know. Power Rangers Samurai has twenty episodes and so will Power Rangers Super Samurai. They are shown evenly. It's just not practical to show the series in the way they have.

Er...I meant none of this long hiatus crap. Do what normal series do. Four new episodes, three reruns 2 new episodes, 2 reruns, etc....

Oh and it would help if the series doesn't suck.

They could do that, but we've always had a Summer hiatus. Since they only air twenty episodes a year (ten every six months), they can't air them like that. If they ran twenty episodes per six months, then that's a different story.

Yes, that would help as well.

Being on the CW would allow Saban Brands to control TV airing times and the ability to synch up marketing efforts to the current point in the show's storyline, and allow Bandai to do the same with the toy line. One point during the Nickelodeon run I can think of that Saban Brands is probably unhappy with Nickelodeon with was back in May and June 2010, when Samurai was getting great ratings, and instead of airing the remaining episodes, Nickelodeon held them until October. That would not happen on the CW IMO. That's one of the reasons why I think there is a possibility of a move.
