Today, I am publically announcing my demotion as the RangerCrew Admin and Battlizer Mod. I had originally planned on making the announcement on RangerCrew's 5th birthday (in exactly two weeks), but decided to do it today for personal reasons.
Fandom Retirement
As some of you know, I returned back to the online fandom in 2006 with Mystic Points (now called RangerCrew Media). For the past 6 years, I have worked on countless number of Power Rangers season portals, Official / Fan Cast Sites, and this board. As a web developer and a fan, I have had a blast providing the content for the fans. I have no regrets in my work in the fandom because it has been rewarding for my personal experience. Power Rangers has greatly affected my life because the franchise has made me into a strong web and software developer. I'm not a toy collector or a fan artist, so making websites is my way of giving back to the show.
I am the kind of guy who does everything on his own. All of my sites (Star Points and RangerCrew Media) were designed, developed, and financed by me. If I can't do it on my own, then I have no business running it. This is why I take great pride in all of my work. I've seen sites and blogs, which are based on colloborated works from a group of fans. I have full respect for that workflow, but it's not my style. This board was the first time when I had to break that logic. RangerCrew (formerly StarPoints RangerCast / SPRC) is the first board that I have built from scratch.
I had amazing help from the mod team as well as inspired help by Chad (Mesogog / PRE). Chad taught me a lot in the first few years as well as brought several members to this board. The board was intended to promote the cast members but rapidly grew into a Power Rangers and Toku board. For the past two years, we have provided exclusive content and news from our sources. I am very proud on how much this board has grown in the past 5 years. Don't be fooled by the 3,500+ member count on the home page. The forum database states that the last registration id is 9601. This means that 9,600+ members have joined RangerCrew in the past 5 years. We pruned a large number of inactive users to free up database resources. RangerCrew doesn't need to showcase a large number of fans nor does it have a goal to become a large board. The board is here to promote Power Rangers in a fun and friendly way. I had a lot of help from our awesome mod team. They have worked hard to provide a fantastic fan service for the RangerCrew members.
A recent event has reminded me that the fandom work has affected my health, finances, and personal life. I am too emotionally attached to the fandom and RangerCrew. I find myself on this board for over 12 hours daily in addition to the daily site work. As mentioned before, I have no regrets for the fandom work. I have decided that I will demote myself as a RangerCrew mod and retire from the fandom after Power Rangers Megaforce Season 1. I may decide to work on Megaforce Season 2, but no promises at this moment. As long as I am in the fandom, I will promote Power Rangers and RangerCrew to the best of my abilities. My reasons for the the retirement are for personal reasons, but I will tell you that a major life event occurred while I was attending the Licensing Expo. Despite what happened that week, I don't regret attending the event to provide the latest Power Rangers Megaforce information to the fandom. I am very thankful for the mod team for being there during this rough week.
For the past year, I have been preparing for my fandom retirement with the work of a personal fandom project. I was hoping to make the project announcement at Power Morphicon, but I am far from completion. I may announce the fandom project in January if I make further progress. The purpose of this fandom project was to aggregate all of my years of effort into a single archived media. The project is a multi-year project which may end up turning into a personal portfolio project that fans may be interested in.
I will promote Power Rangers 20th Anniversary via RangerCrew, Samurai Cast site, and the upcoming Megaforce site. I will now have more free time to focus on those sites as well as become an active RangerCrew Blogger.
RangerCrew Future
A few years ago, Power Rangers: R.P.M. aired the final episodes and the fandom asked about the future of the boards. RangerCrew members showed a lot of support for this board, so I decided that the board will continue to run as long as the mod team is willing to manage the board. You may have noticed the recent mod promotions in the past months. We have prepared for this day with weeks of transition training with the mod team.
O92 will be the new head of RangerCrew forum. For those of you who don't know O92, he is one of the co-founders of the board and the first RangerCrew mod. O92 has proved to be a strong leader and the ideal candidate to represent RangerCrew. Mr. CD will be his #2 on the board and the leader of all of the Green and Purple Mods. I am very confident that the board is in great hands with O92 and CD in charge. RangerCrew has a fun and interactive mod team. If you have any issues on the board, feel free to report them to a mod. If you have any issues with a mod, feel free to report them to CD or O92. There will be no major change in RangerCrew. The same rules will continue to apply.
Starting today, I will demote myself as a RangerCrew member. I will continue to finance RangerCrew (domain, web hosting, and software) as well as provide forum support with vBulletin updates. RangerCrew Facebook, Twitter, and Blog will be managed by me. I will work with the RangerCrew team to continue to promote RangerCrew on my websites as well as the social media platforms. RangerCrew has a deep place in my heart. As long as I am in the fandom, I will be an active RangerCrew member. I will only post exclusive news from my sources to RangerCrew forum.
Special Thanks
I want to personally thank all of our active members for your amazing support over the past years. The forum is nothing without our loyal members. I want to also thank the veteran fandom members who have graciously made RangerCrew their fandom home. My final thanks goes to the mod team, who has invested so much of their time for providing the fan service.
Power Morphicon
O92 and I will be working together to promoting the latest news from Power Morphicon. Stay tuned on RangerCrew, RangerCrew Blog, and RangerCrew Twitter. If you are attending Power Morphicon, I will be hosting a small RangerCrew hangout on Friday evening. Feel free to post in this thread if you are interested in the mini-event:

I will continue to be a RangerCrew, Power Force, and fandom member through the 20th anniversary.
