saw the episode earlier today but didn't have time to comment since I had to go to work. I loved it. As I was expecting the show brought back the police element kuuga,agito,ryuki and W had making again the monsters threat very serious. As for the wizard's powers? Awesome. Felt like watching W again with that fast change of the rings. It was also awesome the battle with the dragon. The show seems pretty promisable

It's the American High School tropes that made me dislike Fourze most.

Those things got phased out over time dude.

It's the American High School tropes that made me dislike Fourze most. It doesn't ring true. As to things I call anime tropes, I say that because it takes live action and makes it a cartoon. You can get away with thing in animation you can't get away with in live action. You need effects and pretending to even create a facsimile of the look and then it still rings false. That's my biggest complaint. We're already stretching believability with things like the sits and transformations. Suddenly having speed lines and manly punches (Go-Onger) or a character whose doll moves around on its own (OOO's) pull me out of the story.

even for such a unrealistic genre, there are still aspects about it that are still believable and realistic, let it be a certain plotline or a character's development. There is no such thing as a scripted work that is "entirely" unbelievable and unrealistic.
Yes genres like Toku uses alot of fictional & unrealistic elements, but there are also always certain aspects, like some of the storylines and how the characters grow and evolve throughout the series that can really bring certain elements of realism to shows like these, and KR are no different.
So I don't understand your criticism of KR in general...it's not like it's a show that's "completely" saturated in unrealistic and unbelievable elements, there are certain aspects that are still believable and some can even relate to and learn from.

Anyway, I watched ep 1 last night I thought it was great! a really good start that draws you in instantly, I love Wizard's fighting style, he doesn't just rush into a fight, his moves are precise & calculated, very similar to Takeru's (ShinkenRed), he reminds me somewhat of W too.
Also the actor wasn't as bad as some had thought, I've read some criticisms about the main actor's acting skills in the first ep from some international fans...I watched it and didn't think his acting was so bad, true he was rather stiff in some parts, but he wasn't exactly "bad". I've seen the actor in a few shows prior, he's appeared in quite a lot of movies & 1 drama before...I've seen him in the 'Gantz' movie & the 'Honboshi' drama, his roles in those shows were too small for me to have much impression but I thought he was pretty good in those roles nonetheless. I think the character Haruto/Wizard is probably suppose to be myteriously and somewhat stiff sometimes.

btw that's a good rating for the first ep...let's hope the ratings will remain steady...

I'm so glad the Wizard Driver doesn't come with the green and yellow rings, I'm still in denial of their existence. lol
